Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Friday 5/21

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Friday 5/21

  • @b_1029 I’ve heard a few people say their period was late after the covid vaccine. I have heard them talk about any subsequent cycles.maybe it’s just like when your sick and sometimes AF is late?
  • Loading the player...
  • @b_1029 sorry your body is acting up and you’re having a longer cycle. My favorite clothing stores are Torrid and Maurices. They have tons of dressy clothes and plenty of casual too. If you can catch a good sale, prices are generally decent.

    Month/Cycle: 23/2 AL

    CD/DPO: 79/3

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: 13

    Testing: 🤷‍♀️

R/R: My sister is coming tomorrow and spending the weekend at my house. She’s going with me on Sunday as I get my first tattoo!! I had previously mentioned one I wanted in the TTCAL thread a couple months ago but I’m waiting on that one and getting a music one behind my ear. I’m super excited!

    CS/Q:

  • @b_1029 sorry for the slow start to AF. bodies are so weird. I usually buy work clothes from Old Navy or Target or ThredUp.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 21/2

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: 12 days

Testing: at least on May 30

R/R: I injured my back because, I dunno, 30s are rough and your body stops working??? The pain is severe and finally last night had to take a high dose ibuprofen to knock it down enough to sleep; thankfully since then it's been manageable with tylenol but wow, definitely an 8-9 on the pain scale. I usually avoid ibuprofen during TWW but figured one high dose is better than severe pain and stress hormones in response to pain.

    CS/Q: No

  • @b_1029 Hooray for friends and new thermometers! I don’t have to be super dressy for work (more business casual most days) so I stick with Kohls and Loft if I’m feeling a little fancier. I will say I love the betabrand pants though! A little pricey, but they hold up and are stretchy which is awesome.

@gingermama29 Fun! Take a picture of the tattoo and share later if you’re willing!

@beakay8 Amen to the 30s body decline. Hope your back feels better quickly!

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 24/11

    Timing: Meh

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: WFAF

R/R: Sorry I was MIA yesterday! I was off work and spent the morning removing trees/brush from a fence line in anticipation of getting a new privacy fence next week. I officially hate wisteria and honeysuckle if anyone is keeping score. I am super excited for this weekend though! I’m having a retreat with my church small group which partially involves sitting by a pool, which sounds glorious right now. And then we’re seeing some friends on Sunday that we haven’t seen in person since before the pandemic.

    CS/Q: Nope

  • edited May 2021
@abjm0325 LOL We have both in our backyard; they are so pretty!  We want to make honeysuckle jelly this year... But I know they can be pretty invasive.  :#  In all honesty, I would much prefer all the lilacs to the wisteria, tho.
  • @abjm0325 Your weekend sounds great!

@inthewoods23 It's funny because emotionally and mentally, I feel better in my 30s than my 20s, and like, I love my body a lot more in my 30s -- like, I'm really feeling myself in my 30s. But yeah, my body itself is very much doing that thing where it's like, "Oh, hey, why don't we pull a back muscle while we sleep? That sounds new and interesting!" Slowly adding regular exercising back into my lifestyle because maybe my 20s didn't hurt so much because I was more active? I don't know. I'm sorry about your BFN and the emotional weight of those; I understand & my heart is with you. <3 I'm so glad YH is so supportive to you during this time.

@gingermama29 have fun with your sister, and that’s exciting about the tattoo!

@beakay8 I love target too! I’ve been unmotivated there lately between the interesting dresses and dressing rooms still being closed. Getting old is rough, it’s crazy the things that put me out of commission now. Hope your back feels better quickly!

@abjm0325 no one on my team dresses super dressy either. I usually wear a dress and cardigan or my “work leggings”...but I’ve gained too much weight in my butt to get them up anymore. I’ll have to check out those pants! Sounds like a fun weekend, is it hot where you are?

@inthewoods23 sorry for the bfn, your chart looks so good too. It doesn’t get any easier no matter how much time goes by. Hope you and YH are able to do something fun/relaxing this weekend.
  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 25/7

    Timing: decent

    Typical LP length: 14-16

Testing: trying to hold out until 12 dpo at least

R/R: had a lot of fun with a girlfriend last night. DH chilled in the basement so we’d have the run of the living room to paint our nails and watch HGTV. It felt so blissfully normal!

    CS/Q: nah

I’ll come back to tag but for the 30s body decline discussion: My 30s were infinitely stronger/healthier than my 20s. And now that I’m 40, I’m glad I focused on a lot of strength-related stuff and athletic goals in my 30s. Covid definitely derailed me a bit but I’d say, so far, I’m kinder to myself now than I was in my 30s. I’m hoping I can combine kindness and athleticism more this decade. That’s the goal!

  • **lurking from WTO**

    @inthewoods23 hugs <3
  • @beakay8 oh no! Sorry to hear you injured your back! I hope it feels better quickly!

@abjm0325 that sounds like such a fun and relaxing retreat! Enjoy it!!

@inthewoods23 hugs friend. I’m sorry for bfn and the emotions that came with it. Also slow cooker ribs sounds amazing!

@rachelredhead that sounds like a really fun night! Glad you got some girl time!
  • @inthewoods23  Thanks for the ponte pants tip!  I have a type that may be somewhat similar (comfort wise anyway) I was getting from Macy's that were just SO COMFY.  The Cambridge tummy control or something like that.  I'm like, why would I ever purchase real slacks with a zipper ever again???  (But then of course I did from Nordstrom Rack and promptly regretted it.  Bahh!)
  • @b_1029 I love the loft, banana and old navy for work clothes.

@beakay8 What is it about turning 30 and your body just failing?! Ugh!

@abjm0325 Ugh!  We cleared trees from our property line for a fence two years ago.  SO not fun!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 32/11

    Timing: good

Typical LP length: 14 days.  I think.  It was way shorter last cycle after my loss.

    Testing: this morning.  BFN

R/R: It is going to be almost 90 degrees here today.  I LOVE IT!!!! I am hoping my boss gives us an early dismissal.  He does that sometimes on nice Fridays.

CS/Q: I really though AF was coming but I am still well above cover line as of this morning.

  • @beakay8 Same, I feel better off now mentally than even a year or 2 ago. Meds help I suppose haha. I've really started trying to implement self-care kind of stuff much more into my life and I feel so much better for it.

@b_1029 maybe it'll hurt less next time when I don't constantly acknowledge how beautiful my charts look in the TWW. I was seriously wondering if seeing either an "implantation dip" or a semi-triphasic chart like this cycle indicated it was meant to be. For now I guess it might just be the dips
    couldn't resist the gif haha

    @rachelredhead oh I miss HGTV!

    @fameonmain2 thanks friend! :)

@gingermama29 super easy to make. It's just ribs, BBQ sauce, and a can or two of dark soda like cola or even Dr. Pepper. Fall off the bone!

@BusinessWife I'm not sure why they're called ponte pants, but they basically feel like leggings and have a lot of stretch. Here is a lovely webpage I found that describes them. It could very well be like the pair you got at Macy's. Seriously, best work pants EVER!

@ReadyForaB sorry for the BFN. 90 degrees is a bit too hot even for me! Unless you're talking no humidity, then I find that to be like a massively cozy blanket of heat. *thinks back to my younger days in AZ wearing pants on 120 degree summer days* Ahh... those were the days.

  • @BusinessWife To be fair, we have another wisteria growing over a swing in the backyard that I think is pretty. The problem is the person living here before us chose those plants to provide foliage privacy along the back fence line, so they have grown unchecked for I would guess at least a decade. Needless to say even a chainsaw had trouble cutting through some of that.

@inthewoods23 So sorry about the BFN, but glad your H is being supportive. Hope you can do something nice for yourself this weekend.

@b_1029 I think I’m pretty near you if I remember correctly? It is supposed to be in the 80s this weekend!

@rachelredehad Sounds like a fun night!

@ReadyForaB Ooh, hope you get to enjoy the hot weather!

  • b_1029b_1029 member
@abjm0325 ok that’s right I couldn’t remember if you were the one who said you were in Kentucky! I’m not looking forward to the hot weather 😐
  • kgg2241kgg2241 member

@b_1029 I'm sorry about the longer cycle. Why can't our bodies just be predictable? I usually go to Banana Republic or Loft for work clothes. The regular Ann Taylor seems to have good sales lately too.

@gingermama29 Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you! I'd love to see a pic of your tattoo once you get it!

@beakay8 Dude I tweaked my back this week too! For no reason that I can figure out. Stupid being old. I hope it feels better soon!

@abjm0325 Have a nice weekend! Sounds lovely!

@inthewoods23 Hugs hugs. I'm so sorry about the BFN. It never gets easier. I hope you have a restorative and relaxing weekend  <3

@rachelredhead I agree. I'm only in my early 30's, but I feel and look (besides my stupid 11 wrinkles) so much better than I did in my twenty's.

@ReadyForaB I hope you get to leave work soon!

    Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD/DPO: 27/10

    Timing: great

    Typical LP length: 15 days

    Testing: BFN today

R/R: Rant is that I washed my car this morning and now it is raining. Go figure. I'm also bummed that our camping trip was cancelled this weekend due to bad weather. Guess I should have known not wash the car. Rave is that we are doing sushi for dinner tonight. I think we will do brunch with the camping trip crew tomorrow too. So it should turn out to be good weekend. (I'm just noticing that all my raves recently have to do with food  :D).

CS/Q: I don't temp but my Mira chart was perfect  :'(. No questions.

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1 ??
    CD/DPO: 32/7
    Typical LP: 10
    Testing: May 23rd

I temp and this chart was way different than the other. I ovulated late and I usually have cycles of 30 days. I'm on day 32 and I had a big dip today but no other symptoms besides this weird pulling pain in my lower abdomen/pelvis. I've never felt this before and I don't remember this feeling when I was pregnant with my daughter. If I am pregnant this will be a Honeymoom baby 😂

knottie56936100ae1f0cdd I’m glad you found the TWW thread and decided to join in. But you MUST read the guidelines at the top of each thread or you’re going to find it less than welcoming here. Many of us have been trying for a first baby or a sibling for years and don’t take kindly to new folks barging in and basically announcing that they think they’re knocked up (KU). We follow the rules of the board that were set before we ever got here. The rule in this TWW thread (copied from the top of this very page) is:
**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**
The only place you can freely mention your child is the TFAS (trying for a sibling) thread and in the Newbie Intro thread. If it turns out you got lucky this cycle, congrats and you can move on to your BMB (birth month board).  If you stick around here, please be careful to read the rules that make this community so tight-knit and supportive, and be sure to introduce yourself in the Newbie Intros weekly thread.
