Re: Weekly Check-in 5/16

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 15+4

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a navel orange

Upcoming appointments: I had one last week, although I'm going in just for a little doppler listen tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Tired but otherwise great. So happy to be past that first tri nausea

Rants/Raves: I can't WAIT until my dang semester is over. I'm in my last week! And we move in exactly 1 week. It will be so nice to be on the other side of teaching and this move

    Questions: none

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Maybe Dunhuang in NW China. It's the site of 1000 years worth of Buddhist cave-temples (made from the 5th-13th centuries)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: roborovski hamster

Upcoming appointments: Not until June, I did hear little girl's heart beat yesterday though. Still checking about twice a week just for peace of mind.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I started working out again last week and aside from being sore, I feel good. Still battling fatigue, but nausea seems to be less. I did have some random dizzy spells when I was just sitting today.

    Rants/Raves:

Questions: When does everyone consider themselves in the second trimester? Everywhere I read says something different. I've seen from the end of week 12 to the end of week 14. My OB didn't really say and I'll be almost 15 weeks when I go back. Just curious.

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Also the farthest place I've gone is Ghana in Africa. I went for medical rotation my last year in residency. It was the most awesome experience I have ever had. To just see how different 3rd world countries work in terms of medicine and how grateful all the people were to just get a tylenol. Makes you even more aware of how spoiled Americans are.

  • @chartput I find it frustrating there's no universally accepted definition either! I've been going with that it starts at 13 weeks.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 14+6

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a taco

Upcoming appointments: Next appointment in June

How are you feeling?: My hips have been KILLING me at night. It starts off ok but by 4am I have to keep rotating sides and it makes sleep really difficult. I just saw my physical therapist today and she upped the difficulty on some of the exercises I've been doing and gave me one new one so keeping my fingers crossed that helps!

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Probably Luray Caverns in Virginia, USA. It has an "organ" that taps hanging mineral formations to produce different musical tones. Outside of the caverns, they also have a garden maze, which the little kid in me enjoyed perhaps way too much.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 13 + 3

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a jalapeño

    Upcoming appointments: Thursday

How are you feeling?: nervous. I’ve been feeling like my normal self. I’ll be glad to hear baby’s heartbeat at my appointment

Rants/Raves: my middle child turned 4 this weekend 🥳😭

DH thinks he’s going to start his new job and leave us behind with his parents for a month or so while he finds a house to buy. It’s adorable.

    Questions: none

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Mammoth Cave partly because I haven’t done much traveling and partly because I felt like I was in the hell mouth.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 15+3

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: spongebob squarepants apparently 😂

    Upcoming appointments: May 27th

How are you feeling?: I’ve definitely come down with something which is so not fun  been trying to fight it off for awhile now. Bit of a cough and a high temp this morning so I had to get tested for COVID. Waiting on the test results!

Rants/Raves: see above I guess lol

    Questions:

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? Hmm this is a toughie. There were two places in my travels that left my speechless so I’m going with those two. The acropolis in Greece but I think that’s because I’m a big Ancient Greece fan so I was like “whoa history!” And then other was the Sistine Chapel because it was so surreal (and also you’re not allowed to speak 😂)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: orange

Upcoming appointments: Still over a month until I go back

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I'm starting to get some random back pain here and there.

Rants/Raves: I have added the meal "second breakfast" to my daily routine and it has been great.

    Questions:

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? This is pretty impossible to answer since places are interesting in different ways. I guess one of the most silly and unusual places I went was the Obama travel plaza in Ireland.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 15+1

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Orange

Upcoming appointments: Thursday for a quick check

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I've had a few bouts of nausea lately but they've thankfully been short-lived.  My energy levels are picking up which is nice.

Rants/Raves: Just overall happy to be feeling a little more human lately.

    Questions: None at the moment

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? This tiny convenience store we randomly stumbled upon on a road trip years and years ago as a kid.  Half of the store had the coolest stained glass art and sculpture type pieces, and then a bunch of cool garden type sculptures that looked homemade. It was just the coolest little wonder in the middle of nowhere that had all this random stuff. It left a huge mark on my little brain.  I've tried to look it up since, but we can't even quite agree on exactly where it was and all my internet searches have run dry. It probably isn't nearly as amazing as my kid brain remembers it 😆 and I'm sure it is long gone.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12+5

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: lime? Maybe...

Upcoming appointments: just had our NT scan so no appt for a while

    How are you feeling?: Great!

Rants/Raves: we have a mini vacation coming up for memorial day weekend and then a longer trip next month to visit family in Florida. I'm so excited for both! Though I'm still not sure how I'll line up coverage properly for my deals at work 🥴

    Questions:

GTKY: what’s the most interesting place you’ve been? I have to say England, which shocked me. I guess I'm more of a history nerd than I realized because I would get chills walking around and thinking about all of the historic moments that happened where we were. I felt like I was in a period piece sometimes
