May/June 2021 FET Do I have any buddies?

Re: May/June 2021 FET Do I have any buddies?

  • I just finished a month of estrogen and progesterone as treatment after my scar tissue removal.  I was hoping I'd get a period sooner than this so I could move forward, but 6 days in and no AF.   I think my body is pissed at me at this point and I'm just gonna start a bunch more meds and hormones.. This has been a very long 5 months.  I think I'm just grumpy today.
  • I guess I go here now... Got the call so I can "officially" stop Endometrin and call on day 1.  Hoping AF comes quickly....

@danij823 You are such a trooper. <3 Hang in there!  I hear you on the fatigue.  At a certain point, one foot in front of the other is literally all you gotta do.  Keep trudging, and you'll be there before you know it!

I’m waiting for AF now. Any minute now lol. No BC here. Estrace 4mg x 2 and Lovenox (I have a clotting/MFTHR). Scan between day 10-13 depending on appointments and then start progesterone suppositories x 3, transfer on day 6 of that. Really similar to you @danij823

@BusinessWife sorry to see you here.  :( I have been moderately lurking and following your last FET. I hope you're doing okay.  <3

Since I'm here, I suppose I will also jump in! It's been awhile.  :)

Hi everyone! H and I are currently trying for number 3. We have two boys, both the result of FETs. Our "official" diagnosis is unexplained infertility, but H's morphology was...less than ideal (when we were going through testing in 2015/2016). We returned to our clinic in January and had a mid-February FET that resulted in a CP. After that,  we took some time off, and I started meds for this cycle on April 12 (side note-I feel like I have been taking Estrace FOREVER). I had a bit of a scare earlier this week with some considerable spotting, but my monitoring US on Wednesday showed no fluid and a nice thick lining. I was certain this cycle would be cancelled, but looks like we are on for a transfer on Monday!

AF came this morning! I’ve taken my first dose of Estrace & made my day 10 bw/us appointment!

  • @danij823 Sadly, yeah. :/

@BusinessWife I know!! I was lurking to help ease my craziness that came back with a vengeance as we jumped back into treatments, and was so excited to see your name! I'm doing okay--just counting down the days until summer break (20!!). There have been a lot of emotional up and downs with the February FET and getting back at it for this FET...I don't know if it's just me, but in between trying for siblings, I enter this blissful mindspace where I kind of forget that we're infertile and all of the heartbreak that goes along with that. Sooo it's not been super fun being back there. How have you been??
  • @felix08 I'm so sorry about February.  Losing one never gets any easier.  We have been good, though, all things considered!  I started back WFH not too long ago, so just trying to make the most of it.  DH has been busier with work again now that things have picked up after the New Year / holidays, but the downside is he has been pretty stressed.  Trying not to let it rub off on me and the rest of the house too much, but that's easier said than done!  I'm not sure I ever forget about IF. Everywhere I look, I see people with these big, beautiful families, and here I am just watching our chances dwindling away... it really does feel like I have friends here getting KU left, right and center.  It's hard knowing that I may never get to have another baby... time will tell.  Comparison is a thief of joy!  I want to tell myself I have a good feeling about this last transfer!!!  But I also don't want to get my hopes up unrealistically after as many losses as we have already had.  Ugh.  Trying to stay positive.  I do feel like May is a good month, though.  My mom's birthday, Mother's Day, our Anniversary... all good things!  Hopefully for us both!  How soon do you think you will be transferring?

@BusinessWife - I totally missed that too!! I think with the chat going to the next page I didn’t go back far enough. Sorry to hear that!!

@BusinessWife I missed it too. I'm so sorry! Sending you tons of love and agreed with you that positivity is key and May is looking like an amazing month for you! <3

@danij823 hang in there!! <3 I'm also waiting on AF and mine has been 3 days late....funny (but sad) how when we just need it the most, it gets stage fright.  :D
  • edited May 2021
Thanks @danij823 @skyee87 Yeah, no real reason to delay.
<div class="Spoiler">My doctor called me Friday night and we talked through some things.  Basically she said, if about the only thing hypothetically on anyone's radar could be my weight, (I have not yet lost like - basically ANY baby weight in the past 8 months), -- but she said it's really, truly only hypothetical and she couldn't point to any quantifiable evidence to say, "If you lose X BMI points that will increase your chances Y percent."  I'm totally in acceptable treatment range, just not as low as I was before.  So, can she say losing weight will improve our chances?  Not really.  If I wanted to take extra time to lose weight and come back in September or something, would she support me in that?  Absolutely.  Does she think it will change the outcome either way?  Nope!  I'm WFH ATM basically to keep my IF benefits and make this all happen.  (We also want to move and I am of the opinion that me keeping my job going for the time being could also be beneficial to that end.)  DH would love for me to basically quit as soon as we are done with treatment, but I am willing to stay longer if I thought the reward was there in terms of leveraging that to change our whole living situation.  So we'll see, but all that to say, the longer we wait, the longer I HAVE TO keep working, so...
...then I guess we are forging on.</div>
  • @BusinessWife Ok gotcha.  Well damn.  My BMI is higher too. My Dr hasn't said anything about it.. hmm.
Well you have an amazing outlook and this next one just has to work!  I'm sending you all the good vibes!
  • @skyee87 Right! Stupid AF.  I'm on Day 12 now.  I emailed my nurse and she said it could take 2 weeks but if I want to come in, they can run some labs and do an ultrasound to see what's up.  I just told her I'll wait till after the 2 week mark and call if nothing happens.  I'm just so impatient and at this point SO ready to transfer!
Are you starting up stims with this AF?
  • @danji823 Yeah waiting for AF to come was by far the longest wait to me so far.. but I guess the 2WW will start tomorrow after my transfer. I've been doing all the right things, eating everything mentioned on this board, and even acupuncture before/after transfer.
Not sure how some of you guys can do this multiple times and remain calm..because I'm freaking out, having palpitations, and can't focus on anything.
    Wish me luck!!
  • edited May 2021
@danij823 Yeah I mean they only say you need to be under 45 for treatment, which I still am well below so.  If they haven't mentioned, then I wouldn't worry.

@Knottie496834bd004f8ed0  If you want, you can go over to the knot and update your username to something we can tag you with more easily.  Then if you log out and log back into TB, it should be updated.  GL tomorrow, try to just take it easy.  You have done all you can at this point - the rest is out of our hands!

@felix08 How are you my love!??  How did everything go yesterday??! <3 <3 <3

@Knottie496834bd004f8ed0 wishing you the best of luck! <3 So so so exciting for your transfer - let us know how it went today!!!

@danij823 I have to confirm with the RE but my understanding is that after this period, I'll track ovulation and then start estradiol + ganirelix right before the next period (with stimming re-starting after that one). So much waiting! Ack! But at least it's getting closer and I feel like I'll have things to do in between (like the ovulation tracking - yay little things).  :D

I think your decision to wait the 2 weeks is a good one! Hoping AF shows up by then and no need for you to get those additional exams. Do they think the delay could be due to the procedure you had? I would think your body is probably healing (which is why it is taking a little longer). <3
  • felix08felix08 member
@BusinessWife According to RE and embryologist, everything went well! They were running about 30 minutes behind schedule, though, and I had to pee SO. BAD. Now I'm just chugging along in the TWW...I'm only 2dp5dt but it already feels like it's been forever. Any signs of AF for you yet?

@Knottie496834bd004f8ed0 How did your transfer go yesterday!? We can weather the brutal TWW together...
  • @felix08 Oh yeah, I'm already on CD5.  I go back in on Sunday or Monday for monitoring.  Glad everything went well!  Ikwym, the first few days feel like an eternity.  Will you be obsessively testing, (like I always seem to), or trying to wait for beta?
  • felix08felix08 member
@BusinessWife Oh! Nice! So you are (hopefully) well on your way to another FET. Are you doing a natural cycle or medicated? As far as testing, I definitely will NOT be waiting until beta day--the thought of waiting for that phone call makes me sick to my stomach...I like to know what to expect going in. I am undecided on how early I will test...possibly this weekend at 6dp or I may wait until the night before beta.
  • Yes, we are doing another natural FET.  @felix08 It's kind a crazy to think this is the last one, come what may.  In a way I am relieved about the prospect of not having to go back for more transfers, but of course we always wanted more than two kids so... This one has just GOT TO work, right?

6dpt should give you a good idea!  With natural cycles it's such a mind trip because of the HCG trigger. :/ But I did get a digital with my last one at 6 days past, and 7 days past with my first, so you should get some nice lines! :D :D :D

Mid cycle over here. I’m super happy my clinic has said I can keep my vaccination appointment on Tuesday. Canada is so far behind and while I’m nervous to do this without being vaccinated first, I’m glad I can continue to look forward to still doing this!
Estrogen has been ok - definitely noticing the mood swings a bit. I got in Monday for a lining check and if all good start progesterone 3 times a.day.
@felix08 - I need to test before too. I’ve just been debating when to. I’ll be transferring my Day 5 BB. I’m hoping I can make it 7dpt lol.

  • @JWatt5 Yay!  Getting close!  I just got my second vaccine and it is very relieving.  So excited for you !
  • felix08felix08 member
@JWatt5 That's great you are still able to get your vaccine! My RE also encouraged me to get mine even though I was prepping for a FET at the time. I read a thread on a different forum that said most people who go on to have viable pregnancies should test positive by 5/6 dpt, so I'd say 7 is a safe bet! I have fallen into the trap of testing to early on multiple occasions which led to much more emotional turmoil than necessary!

@BusinessWife Yeah, you definitely have a good point on feeling some relief in not having any pressure to do treatments anymore. I am keeping everything crossed for you that this FET works for you!! Do you have a general timeframe you think it might be happening?
  • Ya'll wanna hear about how I'm an A**hole today ?  So I am STILL  waiting for my period, (it's been 15 days now), growing more and more anxious by the day as I'm supposed to start my transfer cycle when it shows.  My husband is visiting his Mom and she wanted to teach him to sew.   Well she taught him to sew a baby blanket.  She sent me a pic and I said "oh that's nice, is it for Amy's (his sister) baby?"  She said, "no it's for your baby".   I froze up and didn't respond then sent my husband a text telling him how I really felt, which for some reason was mad. Like real mad.  I guess seeing a baby blanket for the baby I so desperately want and don't have was too much.   Why couldn't I see it as a sweet gesture?  Why am I like this?  Ugh, thanks for letting me vent friends.
  • skyee87skyee87 member
@danij823 there is nothing wrong with your reaction. The way I see it, you weren't really mad at/frustrated with her, but at/with the fact that you have to go through this; stimming, surgeries, delayed periods - that infertility is a b%^*^ and we have to go through 10,000 more things than anyone else to be able to have a shot (which is not guaranteed). Unfortunately, unless someone is going through this process, understanding what it takes (mentally and physically) is impossible (i.e., there is always the misconception that after a hurdle, things suddenly become straight forward which is so not true). Hang in there! <3

    AFM:

Connected with the clinic today and it sounds like my protocol is going to change - they are going to try less follistim and more menopur this time around and change the trigger. Hoping it's a change for the best, but feel really anxious about it. Ack!
  • @skyee87 Thank you , I really needed to hear that!  I felt so crappy.

That is scary, but I'm sure your Doctor has only the best intentions for your cycle and hopefully it will be super successful and you'll get better results so you never have to do the dreaded stimming again!
  • @danij823 That is the same protocol we went through. After IVF we are now 6 weeks pregnant have ultrasound Thursday hope it sticks!

  • @felix08  Just had my first lining check today, so transfer will probably be sometime that last week of May.  I will probably not go public with exactly when it happens, just to give myself a little more time to process.  My experience is it's less stressful for me that way, not having too many people waiting on my results...

Speaking of which, how are you doing over there!!!!  PM me if you want, I'd love to hear how it's going. :)

  • Yay for lining checks @BusinessWife and @JWatt5 !!  I'm excited for you ladies!  Sending you all the good juju!  I can't wait to actually be moving forward again.
I stopped progesterone on the 28th of April and still no AF.  Waiting for my nurse to call me back.  So frustrating to know I should be well into my Birth control and on my way to transfer.  I'm looking at a July transfer instead of June.  I know the wait is worse for some so I'm trying not to be a brat.
  • oh boy @danij823 I would be frustrated, and probably getting impatient too!  I'm sure it will happen in your body's perfect timing, whenever that's supposed to be, but it's got to be hella frustrating in the mean time.  Please keep us updated what your nurse says!  ((((hugs))))

Yay lining checks! <3 So excited for you ladies!

@danij823 ditto on what @BusinessWife said! Keep us posted on what you hear from your nurse - I'm sure your body is healing from the prior procedure which is why it is probably taking some time. <3
  • Thank you friends!  My nurse called this morning, I am now 20 days past my last progesterone pill.  I have Bloodwork and Ultrasound in the morning to see what is going on in there.  Being in limbo and not knowing what is going on or when I can move forward is driving me crazy.  I really hope I get some answers and maybe some good news tomorrow.  Hope you're all having a great Tuesday!
