EVERYTHING. My nausea has finally calmed down regularly enough that I can look forward to food again 🙌. Currently obsessed with watermelon, oranges, and chocolate hummus. Separately, of course.
My only real aversions at this point are raw onion, and tomato sauce.
Lately: plain omelet, whole wheat toast w/ tiny bit of butter, plums, plain pasta with salt and pepper. And of course saltines and rice crackers. The occasional piece of grilled chicken or avocado will stay down.
Anything and everything else is a gamble and honestly nothing is that appealing to me because of N&V.
Although I do miss tacos. I know they won’t stay down at all but when I can eat like a proper human being I am going to just stuff my face with all the delicious soft shell tacos of every kind.
I have been CRAVING proper pizza since about 6 weeks (we pretty much only have access to pizza like Dominos). I went to Bath with my MIL today and we found a proper pizza place and I definitely died and went to heaven. With my pregnancy hunger (and the deliciousness of the pizza) I definitely could have eaten two
Pizza is life. I'm gluten free so finding a decent place for that is a challenge. To be fair very little makes me excited food-wise. I used to love avocados and now I cannot stand them. I used to love just coffee and a bit of milk but now I can't have that either - just mochas.
I love pizza on a normal day, but this baby is rejecting tomato sauce. Not sure how any child of mine could dislike pizza, but whatever.
Any STM noticed if their pregnancy craving/aversions translated into what their kids liked/hated? My only real craving with DS was A1 steak sauce, which is weird for me, and I couldn't even look at an avocado. DS is obsessed with A1, but doesn't like most green things so not sure its specifically avocados lol.
@artsiefartsie@jenharvey84 I used to love avocados and now I struggle to eat them. I still can but I’d rather skip them. Which is weird because that’s exactly how DH feels about avocados. I wonder if baby will feel like how DH feels.
Oh I had a hard time with pizza the other day too... I think my body may be trying to save me from the heartburn foods. But my go-to has been salt & vinegar pringles, enough flavor but not too much for the moment. Oh and chocolate milk.
Gah, @marbellie@gingerale87 I’m on the pizza struggle bus too. Anything tomato sauce too. I think someone else mentioned that as well.
@chartput that watermelon combo sounds amazing. We just got one so I’ll have to try that.
I had an avocado maki roll the other day and now I think that’s all I ever want to eat. Simple flavors of avocado, rice and seaweed and the salty soy sauce w the tiniest bit of wasabi was SO satisfying for some reason. Also that’s the most exciting food I’ve been able to eat in 3 months so could just be that. 😂
Man, I’ve been on the runny egg train for a minute. I’ve been struggling to think of anything appealing to eat this entire pregnancy...I actually LOST a pound since pre-pregnancy. Gonna have to go all Gaston on these eggs, I guess!!!
Sudden major craving for tinned Tuna. I know it can be iffy on the "can eat while pregnant" list but I just want tuna. It's all I really want to eat. Partner said he would get me fresh salmon and could get me the freshest fish possible if I wanted it but no, I want tinned tuna. He's happy that I actually want to eat so he's gone out to get me some
Last night was saurkraut perogies with sautéed onions and sour cream, today thai from my favorite restaurant that happens to be an hour away by my in-laws
I am CRAVING wings. I’ve had cravings before with this pregnancy but this one like, hurts. I can’t quite describe it. I’m specifically craving wings from a restaurant near where I’m from in NJ but any wings will do. DH said we can get dominos for dinner tomorrow and I can get wings but I couldn’t wait that long so we went to KFC tonight just for their hot wings. Wasn’t quite the same but it’ll hold me over for now.
I had a random craving for baked potatoes last night so I had to go to the store, buy potatoes, and come home and cook them. It was really good though! And I usually don't even like potatoes.
@artsiefartsie it's like me and my canned tuna 😂 honestly though most food does not appeal to me at the moment but my British food delivery arrived and I couldn't be more delighted!
I woke up this morning really craving Thanksgiving dinner. I want it all. The turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, green bean casserole, rolls... I could go on. I really don’t have the time or patience to make a good turkey right now so I’m seriously considering buying a rotisserie chicken and some Stove Top and making the rest for dinner.
@doodleoodle haha SAME! I am not even a fan of Thanksgiving foods but my husband LOVES it. And I found with both my pregnancies that i crave food I'm not that into but my husband loves.
Re: What My Pregnant Self is Eating - May 2021
My only real aversions at this point are raw onion, and tomato sauce.
Though, I gotta say, I have to force myself to eat most of the time. Nothing sounds appealing, not because of nausea, but just...doesn’t sound good.

I made the egg sandwich with cheddar cream cheese, extra cheddar, bacon, and the runny egg on plain bagel. It was so good!
