Happy Mother's Day, ladies! Hope you all get spoiled a little today ❤️
We are going to church, then brunch with my mom and dad. Stopping at the nursing home to visit my grandma and then this evening, we'll see the in laws for a cookout at their house. Not sure how that's going to go because it's pouring outside right now. All fun/good things lined up, but I'm already tired thinking about the lineup for the day!
We went to a very nice brunch this morning and have spent the afternoon hanging out at home! DH and the girls bought me two raised garden beds so we planted a bunch of fruits and vegetables. I just put my youngest down for a nap and the older two are having rest time in their rooms so I may watch a movie!
Nothing exciting, Covid restrictions still abound here and it's pretty chilly so not a great day to do much outside. We stopped by my in-laws' this morning to drop off something for my MIL, and are swinging by my parents' place after my son's nap to see my mom for a bit. Today is also our wedding anniversary, so we're staying in tonight and making a nice dinner for just us.
Last year we scaled down Mother’s Day by just making the morning rounds to my mom's and my MIL’s laws and then coming home. It was great so we did the same this year. I chose hoagies for dinner as a treat, 2nd pregnancies allow special occasion lunchmeat haha.
my brother’s been working a lot of overtime so I met up with him and his son to make hand print crafts for his wife and our mom with my daughters. Went for a little walk to take them home for nap time and passed a play ground, so we stopped. Ate lunch with Grammy and came home to a spotless bathroom for a family-free soak. Next up is back to Grammy’s for dinner.
Not exactly the day I’d imagined, but I am so happy to finally be able to hold my nephew again that it hardly matters! (Also, my brother is crap at crafts, so...)
They close a local parkway down on Sundays for biking so we tried that! I rode solo and H pulled the kids in a pod behind him. That was nice but I am SORE. Very unfit right now between the switch to suburban life/wfh/pandemic/winter pregnancy. So little stamina! i want to go eat outside at our Mexican joint but it’s supposed to rain so would have to eat inside. Would be the first indoor dining in over a year.... h and I are both vaxed but the kids aren’t of course.
Happy mother's day!! Today is actually also my birthday! We are up in the mountains with my parents, my brother's family, and my younger brother and his girlfriend! Having a much needed mini vacation. Hope you guys all have a relaxing and fun day!
We had a nice Mother’s Day weekend. My father owns a restaurant so the family congregated there last night to celebrate my mom! We hadn’t been there in over a year so that was nice! Then this morning DH took me to a nice outdoor brunch. The weather was perfect! He got me a necklace with 2 hearts - one has Indie’s name engraved, and the other was left blank. Time to start seriously deciding on a name for baby sis, isn’t it!
We didn’t do much today. Got some yard work done, I finally did some laundry. It was nice and relaxing. I had him bake me a chocolate cake which I was super excited about 🤣
I feel like I have had one of the best Mother’s Day ever. My kids made me feel so loved and appreciated. We went to church this morning and they gave all the kids flowers for their mom and I walked out with a small bouquet. Then we came home and had a relaxing afternoon before we went and hung out with our small group for dinner. The kids played for hours and we stuffed our faces with wings. Then when we got home the kids surprised me with a cake and cards. They even sang happy Mother’s Day to the tune of the happy birthday song. It was adorable. DH built my shelves this weekend so I can start organizing my school room and I have been really excited about that. That’s literally the only gift I wanted. Nothing was over the top but the love I felt from all of them just filled my mommy tank.
I had a lovely morning visiting my mom yesterday. We treated ourselves to some chocolate croissants. She gave me my first Mother's Day gift, a picture frame that says "Mommy and Me". DH gave me some candy and a card. 💛 I spent the afternoon working on my lesson plans for the week, took a little nap, and then we called my MIL who is visiting my SIL in South Carolina. It was a nice, low-key day!
DH worked all day. My youngest woke up too early and threw a fit because I said he couldn't play in his bedroom at 545am (he shares a room with the other 2 kids). We came downstairs to watch something and have breakfast. Big kids got up around 7, had breakfast and spent pretty much all day on their tablets. My youngest was better behaved the rest of the day and pretty chill so I spent alot of time reading.
I ordered dinner for pick up when he finished work so after he picked up some crickets for the lizard he picked up our dinner. After we ate we got the kids ready for bed, he put them to bed as usual and I chilled in bed on tiktok until he came out. Then we put out garbage and recycling together and then went to read together in bed before I passed out lol
Very chill day. Wasn't overly special or anything, no gifts or anything but I got to relax most of the day so I'll take it.
Happy belated Mother's Day! It was a nice low ley day. Got a special breakfast and my 4 year old was super excited to give cards and flowers. We spent a bunch of time hanging in the yard and then went to play mini golf and get ice cream. Nothing crazy but it was nice!
