  • @jackie_dunny Pssh, don't go down that easily ❤ You should totally still have your birthday somehow. We lose so much of ourselves in motherhood, keep that birthday 😆 You could do a big joint birthday or you could celebrate your birthday a little early and do something totally just for you.  I'm a big believer that you get one day a year to celebrate yourself and its really important to do that, even if you have to move stuff around.

DS was born on Christmas day so we always try to do something special for his birthday that is totally separate. I hate that his birthday always gets lumped in with Christmas.
  • @jackie_dunny your baby could also be born at like, 37 weeks and still be considered full term. Or they could be born a week late. It’s a tad early to despair, girl. Lol
  • @jackie_dunny omg I got so much hate last time, maybe both times because I hate fall and there is already so much.  Both my kids are Oct and Novemeber couples with Halloween and Thanksgiving.
We have birthdays Oct 18, Oct 27, Nov 18, Dec 18.  I hate all the business of trying to get a weekend day off for a birthday or getting family to have time to celebrate the kids.  Before I married into and maybe a year or 2 into it my SIL would throw 2 parties for her son but invite us to both and then had to figure out when my daughter or son could have theirs.

@jackie_dunny Look at the bright side: if they come early, you get to have celebratory drinks! Yay!

ETA: at first, I gave your baby a feminine pronoun. Perhaps it was a premonition slip!
  • @jackie_dunny I was actually born 2 days before my mom's birthday. She brought me home from the hospital on her birthday. We didn't really combine our birthdays ever and she still had her own celebrations.
  • @doodleoodle Reading it back, I do sound all doom and gloom, don’t I? 😂 I actually don’t mind it too much lol it’s more like, oh damn that’s a lot of birthdays lol

@sliztee interesting 🤔 I keep accidentally referring to babe as a he so one of us will be right 😂

  • @jackie_dunny this baby is due 5 days before my birthday and I'm just assuming we'll share a birthday because my son was 5 days over lol. Only time will tell though!
  • @jackie_dunny My first was due 5 days before my birthday (which was 31 so not even an "important" one). Everyone kept saying "Oh! Maybe he'll be born on your birthday!" as though that would be an awesome thing. Nope nope nope. I kept saying all pregnancy the only present I wanted for my birthday was to be HOME and snuggling my baby. He was born at 38+2 so even with the elongated hospital stay because of a c-section, I got my birthday present! It may not be the 30th birthday you'd have planned, but hopefully you still get to have a nice celebration.
  • I hear you @jackie_dunny, my due date is Nov 20 and my birthday is Nov 11. Literally gonna be so pregnant and just blobbing around or maybe it will come early but I'm keeping my legs crossed (I know this won't work but...) on my actual birthday - that day is mine!!! I'm a big believer of having at least one day where I can celebrate myself  :D
  • For those of you hoping to not share a birthday with baby, don’t have birthday sex! It really can induce labor if baby is done baking... or anything labor intensive, really. I once broke my water putting together a Pack n Play 😂
  • @jackie_dunny my son was born the day after my husband's birthday (his due date was my H's bday, and I was induced that day). Lucky H got to spend his bday chilling in the hospital. He was also not looking forward to sharing a bday but has come around to it (I guess also we haven't celebrated many joint bdays for them because of the pandemic)
  • @doodleoodle My water broke carrying my son's 9 Paw Patrol stuffed animals up the stairs.  Labor intensive. :D
  • @RoseShadow873 hey, at the end there when your lungs have nowhere to expand to, stairs are labor intensive 😂
