Re: Weekly Check In 4/26 (9/1-9/15 due dates)

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 21+5 (9/1)
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Endive
Upcoming appointments: Still not much on the schedule. Next OB appointment on May 12
How are you feeling?: Weirdly good. Lots of movement. RLP is definitely starting.
Rants/Raves: Rants - the closest IKEA is 2 hours away. Raves - that didn't stop me from driving there TWICE this weekend to get a bunch of stuff to organize the kid's playroom.
GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be? Fidgeting. I am the queen of fidgeting. I have gotten better at making it less obnoxious to others over time, but it has never gone away lol.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a banana

    Upcoming appointments: not until June!

How are you feeling?: much better in the pregnancy realm, but yesterday I hit my head super hard so I’ve had a headache all night/day :(

Rants/Raves: I finally got booked for my covid vaccine (yay!) but I might miss the appointment because we are travelling for my husbands work (boo!!) - hoping that rescheduling won’t push it out super far.

    Questions:

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be? Remembering random details from 5 years ago. My husband says my memory is exhausting haha.
  • @JustAnotherUsername16 I feel you on the IKEA! 2 years ago we moved back to my hometown which is a 7-8 hr drive to the closest IKEA. there are some things that you just can’t get anywhere else! Im hoping to pick up a few things when we have to go travel for my husbands work in a few weeks (if I can cram it in the car) 🤞🏼
  • @sawasap I did the exact same thing with painting - now I really want to paint our living room/hallway but that would be a HUGE job for me! (My husband is hopeless with painting so he’s not allowed to help 😂)
  • @JustAnotherUsername16 I feel like it's so easy to forget things at Ikea when there's so much to look at!

@muggsd I'd love some of your memory.  I think I'm the opposite and my husband will be like ummm how do you not remember that?

@sawasap I feel you to the core on the imposter syndrome.  I struggle with it a lot in my work life.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a paper airplane

Upcoming appointments: I have my third anatomy scan Thursday.  The first was an early one at 16 weeks so the OB knew we wouldn't see everything.  My scan at 19 weeks, baby wasn't fully cooperating so there's a few more things to see.

How are you feeling?: Definitely starting to feel larger and I'm getting out of breath when I bend over to put on shoes or pick things up.

Rants/Raves: I really wish we could sell our house in this crazy market but sit on the money and buy when the bubble bursts.  But rentals are also limited around here and I don't want to rent for a few years while we wait.  I just really want more space.

    Questions: none

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be?
It's got to be procrastinating.  I'm so good at it.  We redid 2/3 of our kitchen floor in February and now have to move the fridge and stove to do the rest but I keep putting it off.  I just told my husband we need to do it before it gets too hot (and I'm too big).

  • @muggsd Sorry to hear about the head, but YAY for the vaccine! Also, I would absolutely pack my car specifically to leave room for IKEA if I were in your shoes, so I get it lol.
@sawasap FX for better luck with the anatomy scan this time around! Exciting about paint colors! What are you leaning towards?
@feelingjovani FX for the THIRD anatomy scan! Also, glad to know I’m not the only one who’s winded doing the simplest of things right now.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/13 20 weeks today! Halfway there!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a banana or sweet potato (depends on the site I look at).

Upcoming appointments: 22 week check up on 5/11, fetal echocardiogram on 5/13.

How are you feeling?: Much better, although pesky food aversion is still hanging on with veggies and meat. I'm feeling little kicks and flutters which I LOVE! I think it's almost time to get a body pillow since sleeping isn't as comfortable.

Rants/Raves: I had my anatomy scan last week and I am so relieved that everything looks good! The fetal echocardiogram is routine for IVF babies, so I am not too worried about that.

Questions: Any good pregnancy pillow recommendations?

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be? Speed knitting/crocheting! Or maybe remembering song lyrics.
  • @JustAnotherUsername16 We are going for a rich, bright green in the nursery and I just feel like it would look weird if the rest of the house was just white (we never painted when we moved in). The colours I'm liking right now are all greens and blues and yellows, but we haven't made any decisions yet. Not sure how much is actually going to happen, but it's fun to think about anyway

Hi ladies! I was on here many many weeks ago and have missed a lot of time but I hope you'll still have me! I was hoping to be more active in this group but a whole bunch of life stuff derailed that plan. Things have calmed down a little bit and I'm hoping I can be more involved for the rest of this pregnancy!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: September 12 / 20+1

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A Starbucks venti cup

Upcoming appointments: Nothing for a few weeks, just need to follow up with my doc about a few questions I have from my anatomy scan.

How are you feeling?: Mostly good, this baby is finally starting to move more and it's making me feel better. First pregnancy I started feeling movement SO early that it's been making me anxious to not have as much activity yet this time around.

Rants/Raves: Rave that pregnancy has been moved to a high risk eligibility category in Ontario and I'm now doubly eligible (pregnancy and age/location), Rant that the booking system in my region is trash and extremely frustrating.

    Questions: None!

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be? Picking the most expensive option when prices aren't shown.

@JustAnotherUsername16 we live 5 minutes from an Ikea, it's super dangerous! Sad that we're moving and won't have such an easy time getting there in the future!
@emeraldduchess personally I would go with a big U shaped one; I found that easiest to sort of make a nest in and then you have pillow on both sides so there's no repositioning pillows in the middle of the night when you roll over. My husband hates it and is probably dreading me pulling it out but I loved it!
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 20 +5
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Endive
Upcoming appointments:May 14th first appointment with my OB.  Which for some reason is going to be via video call.  How have I not seen a doctor in person at all this whole pregnancy?
How are you feeling?:Overall pretty good.  Super hungry.
    Rants/Raves:natm
    Questions:natm
GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be? Avoiding people.  It happens a lot during work especially during covid where a customer wants to chat for an hour about something not even related to why I am there.

@JustAnotherUsername16 thanks lady! It's just been one thing after another; awful morning sickness that went away with diclectin, but the diclectin totally knocked me out for the first couple of weeks. Then my husband's Crohn's flared up really badly just as I was getting back on my feet, followed by a few family members getting hit with various illness and injury (thankfully not Covid) which meant I was doing a lot of driving to appointments and extra grocery shopping and stuff (we're the ones currently without kids in school or a newborn, so not a lot of flexibility for others to help). And in all of that we very suddenly found a new house and then had to work like crazy for a week to get our place ready to sell! It paid off and we sold within 24 hours, but it was absolutely mad for a while!

ETA: I can't believe we're all hitting the halfway mark...it seems like the first part of this pregnancy has gone so fast!
  • Better late than never!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/6 21 weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a chipotle burrito

Upcoming appointments: Had the anatomy scan on Tuesday. He’s really a boy, and all looks well! (I’ve never had one that just went well before)

How are you feeling?: TIRED and hungry

Rants/Raves: The hospital heating/cooling is malfunctioning in the nurses station and a couple rooms since it’s gotten warm and I am not handling the heat well!

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be?: vetting people online. I reserve this skill for potential dates my single friends go on, but it has come in handy a few times.
  • Hope everyone’s been having a fabulous week! I’ve been busy and am just having a moment to come check in here! @cassafrass123 glad I’m not the only late one lol!

@feelingjovani I hope you saw what you needed at the AS today!

@emeraldduchess right now I’m just using a regular body pillow (not a pregnancy one), and I like it so far. It is a little annoying to re-adjust in the middle of the night if I roll over.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/11 (20+5)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a paper airplane

Upcoming appointments: 24 week appointment at the end of may, but nothing until then

How are you feeling?: mostly good! I had a super emotional day yesterday which I think was directly related to lack of sleep. Poor DH had to take the brunt of it which made me feel really bad.

Rants/Raves: I had my anatomy scan on Monday, and everything looks perfect! Baby was super active and the tech was able to get all of the measurements in maybe 30 minutes. Hopefully a super cooperative baby on the inside means a super cooperative baby come September? I also learned that a lot of the movements I’ve been feeling are hiccups! Which I think is adorable except then it was keeping me up last night which was slightly less adorable

    Questions:

GTKY: If you were to create an Olympic sport to guarantee that you would get the gold medal, what would it be?
Procrastinating until the last second, but then doing it well. I live and die under the deadline haha
  • @runningoncookies thanks!  We thankfully got everything!  They were a few minutes away from sending me to Children's Hospital for another scan but she cooperated last minute.

@emeraldduchess I've been eyeing pillows that just go under the belly.  I have a full body one I used with my son and I liked it then but for whatever reason I can't find a comfortable position with it this time around.  It just feels too bulky.  I might just get something like this: https://www.babylist.com/gp/boppy-pregnancy-sleep-wedge-with-jersey-slipcover/15858/37901

@cassafrass123 I love when people are super sleuthers online.  I have a friend who does deep dives into people and manages to find lots of info!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @marymh80 that's exactly what I need!  Just something for the belly and knees.  I can't get comfortable with my bigger one that goes head to knees.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @feelingjovani I end up using the C shaped pillow because of how dense and thick it is. The Boppy comma one is a lot fluffier (so it flattens), but I think I've also washed it a few times? I needed something more dense for between my knees.

This morning I was so sore though, that I'm pretty sure I need something extra for the belly. I'm going to try the wedge first, but have been eyeing this because I think I need something more at my back too. https://www.babylist.com/gp/boppy-side-sleeper-pregnancy-pillow/15857/646904
