  • @bows22 how do they decide IUI day typically?

    Month/Cycle: 3/2 1AL

    CD: 17

    WAYDTGKU: BBT OPK CM PNV

R/R: not a lot going on today. Probably going to pay some bills and do the budgeting for the month.I really wish MH was good at these things and I wasnt. I find it so stressful to think about even though we typically live below our pay grade and it’s really  it an issue.

CS/Q: if me temp stays up tomorrow I think I’ll be moving over to the TWW. I’m pretty excited!

  • bows22bows22 member
@daisy0322 what I usually see on here is that people give themselves a shot that triggers ovulation and then they go in for the IUI the next day or so, but they are having me call with a positive OPK and then I’ll go in the next day. Hence my stress like what if I have a fast surge? I’ll be taking them every time I pee haha. Your chart and timing look great! I’m excited that you ovulated early!
  • bows22bows22 member
@beakay8 I’m so sorry about your family member. How are they doing?
  • @beakay8 yeah I think that’s really what it is- we got married in the young side (23/24) and we have had joint accounts since we were both 22. We lived pay check to pay check and came up short a lot those first few years. While I actually think it strengthened our relationship a lot in the long run i had like financial PTSD haha Happy birthday month! I hope there’s some good things this month along with the stressful 💕
  • Sorry @bows22 I didn’t see you! That sounds super stressful like I’m pretty sure I ovulate like 12 hours after my LH surge. Why won’t they do the shots?
  • bows22bows22 member
@daisy0322 I have no idea. As part of my testing they did “test” my OPKs so I had to call when I got a positive and I had blood work done the next day and I was still surging. So hopefully I have a cycle like that when it’s time.
  • Good morning!  I completely disappeared this weekend and I wish it's because I'd been doing fun stuff... but it was really cleaning out the garage, so not fun at all.

@bows22 I hope you get some good temps and are able to put your mind at ease.

@daisy0322 nice chart!  we might get to be "move to TWW" buddies if my OPKs don't jump up again today

@beakay Happy birthday month!  I'm sorry about your family member and that's it's been a rough year so far.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, charting, OPKs

R/R: MH has had a bit of a cold for the last few days and talk about the man flu, I'm 99.9% sure I had the same thing and I kept chugging along.  Of course he's down and out, as a stereotypical man would be with the sniffles.

CS/Q: I'm compulsively using OPKs to see if my surge was yesterday or will be today.  Premom says my peak was yesterday morning but it stayed in the high range all day, so we'll see!

@jlbaker08 the man flu is so funny, I remember my mom joking when I was younger about how every time my dad got sick he had the “WORST COLD THAT ANYONE HAS EVER HAD.” So it’s funny that it’s actually a thing. Hope you can pinpoint O soon!
  • well hello all! totally went MIA for the last 4 days in prep for this wedding...

@bows22 glad it was easy to get back to temping for you!
@daisy0322 i also do all of the bill paying... i don't mind it... most of what i can set up on autopay is done that way tbh
    @beakay8 happy birthday month!
@jlbaker08 oh yea, men are total babies about illness. i am not a good caretaker if it's just a simple cold, i'm like c'mon you're fine!!!!

WAYDTGKU: we'll just call it ntnp

R/R: the wedding this weekend was such a blast, it was small, and outdoor. and just felt so normal.

    Month/Cycle: 23/2 AL

    CD: 60

    WAYDTGKU: NTNP, temping

R/R: It’s CD 60 so I’m planning to call my doctor today to see what the plan is. Here’s hoping I can take meds to end this cycle and jump right into my medicated cycle.

We had a really productive weekend. Got a ton of work done in the gardens which wrap around 3 sides of the house. We spent another $150 on plants and got most of them in the ground yesterday and added mulch. The only things we didn’t plant yet are the berry plants (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and fall gold raspberries). We still need to clear out the garden space next to our garage which will be a bit of a project but that’s where the berries will get planted.

    CS/Q:

  • @gingermama29 AHHHH you reminded me I have a blueberry plant on the side of the house that I haven't put in the ground yet, oh man, I hope it's still alive

  • @bows22 oh man that sounds ridiculously easy to overthink. I’d be right there with you on that. Enjoy your lazy morning!

@daisy0322 ugh i need to do the same thing. Good luck!

@beakay8 so sorry to hear about your family member. I hope they’ll be okay.

@jlbaker08 ugh the man flu is the worst. Can you imagine if women acted like we were dying every time we got the sniffles? Hahaha

@anniemarie887  glad you got to enjoy some normalcy at the wedding!
  • bows22bows22 member
@anniemarie887 we have a wedding this weekend and it’s not small but we are both fully vaccinated so we’re going to go. I’ll get to see a lot of family that we haven’t seen in over a year. It feels very weird but nice to be doing something normal!

@g@gingermama29 right?? I feel like temping will definitely help the rational thoughts win over the irrational ones. I hope your doctor is on board with jump starting your cycle!
  • @daisy0322 We were married at 25/26, which is actually much older than most people around here, but is still very young! We also have a joint account, and it works for us, but we definitely had a few years together where I remember vividly running out of money in the bank before pay day and having to figure out how we'd make it work until the next paycheck. I completely understand what you mean about financial PTSD! Recently, we've been able to spend a little more on top of saving, and it always stresses me out despite the fact that we have a cushion and we're living well within our means. I don't think anyone ever really overcomes the mental impacts of financial insecurity, even if it was OK and you get through it.

At everyone else, thanks for the birthday wishes and support. We were able to visit our family member because the restrictions on visitors at the hospital is a little looser right now because COVID cases are down in that town, so that was a blessing.

Also lol-ing at everyone saying their partners are the ones who are wimps about feeling sick or under the weather. That is 100% me in the relationship. I am such a whiner when it comes to feeling bad, and MH is the one who powers through it. If he's laid up in bed feeling bad, I always worry about how sick he really is. In my defense, I have a chronic illness that means the slightest cold is real trouble for me, but yeah, I like to complain about it out loud a lot. Hahaha.
  • @bows22 I remember temping with my first IUI and had a big temp bump on CD10 or something. Well before I did the trigger and IUI. Got a little freaked out haha. Temping went fine the 2nd time around. I don't recall if my charts made me worried that the IUI wasn't timed well.

@daisy0322 I hate finances too. I'm the one that does our taxes and it's stressful AF!

@beakay8 so sorry things are not going well these days for you. Hopefully things start turning around

@jlbaker08 haha ugh the man cold/flu!

@anniemarie887 happy to hear everything with the wedding went well! So nice when things feel normal.

@gingermama29 sounds like you'll have some lovely gardens!

R/R: omg it was so nice this weekend! We had the windows open overnight when it was a perfect low 60s. DH said he slept so well. He also did a lot of gardening yesterday when it was hot as hell. I ran out twice for stuff. Neither of us showered until 4-5PM lol. It felt really gross doing yoga after sweating outside. My cat has an appointment this week (yearly check up) and they still aren't letting people into the building! Ugh. It's really boring and feels long when you're just sitting in your car for who knows how long waiting for them to call you back to give a summary of the visit.

  • @beakay8 I’d say average around here is like 26/27 ish to get married. So we weren’t super early. It’s so interesting how that carries around the country though.

@jlbaker08 omg when my husband has a cold you would think he’s dying- like he had the flu once and legit was looking at caskets online because he’s incredibly dramatic 🤣 albeit he was like 20 at the time. Luckily he rarely gets sick.

@anniemarie887 Im so happy that you got to go and enjoy some normalcy at the wedding! Weddings are always fun.

in@inthewoods23 you reminded me i need to take our dog into the vet too. I’ve been putting it off for a year. He’s got some for real anxiety and I know he will not be happy about going in alone.
  • @bows22 we are also vaccinated, so it made us feel good about everything. altho there's a really distributing nyt article about how were just like not going to reach herd immunity. ugh
@gingermama29 i need to get my blueberry bush a friend... she does not produce blueberries and i've been told it's bc it's she's a solo operator.
@inthewoods23 best thing we did was get a mobile vet, they have a sprinter van and can come to the house for all things routine! we still have to go to the office for anything surgical/teeth cleaning. but it makes our life soooo much easier.
  • @daisy0322 ugggggh, money. I do all our financial planning and it stresses me out. But it would honestly stress me out worse for DH to do it. He’s a missionary kid and his parents did a not great job teaching him and his siblings about money/saving, especially once he moved back to the states for college. Whereas for me, I grew up with parents who were big on financial education. I am SO thankful to have that foundation but it is mentally exhausting to be in charge of it all. DH is always involved in big decisions but it’s still a load to carry.

@anniemarie887 your wedding fun makes me excited for my little sister’s wedding next summer. We’re going dress shopping for her soon and I’m pumped! So glad you had some normal wedding happiness!

@inthewoods23 it was beautiful here, too, and now it’s back to gray and 60. It’s such a tease to have beautiful summery weather and then a return to gray skies.

@beakay8 I’m sorry you can’t catch a break right now. I hope you get some nice surprises soon to lift your spirits.

@bows22 yay for lazy mornings! I’m CST and my last job my boss was an early riser on the East Coast. It was miserable. Lots of 7 am calls. But my job now my boss is on the West Coast and it’s amazing how much better that is.

R/R: I broke (?) my pinky toe a couple weekends ago. I didn’t go in for an X-ray because they don’t do anything besides tape a toe so seemed pointless. It was healing ok but I definitely went overboard this weekend because it is throbbing today. Ugggggh. I hate not being able to be active. Just chop off the damn toe!

CS/Q: I did my first Mira test yesterday. It tracks LH and E3G. I totally overslept yesterday so I feel like my timing was a bit off compared to when I’ll normally test but oh well. The app tells me when to test and it’s every other day until closer O. So we’ll see, I’ll share a chart eventually when there’s more than one data point. 😂 But I’m excited to just figure out what’s going on.

  • @rachelredhead A broken pinky toe is the worst because it hurts and yet, like you said, not much can be done about it. Both my pinky toes are terrible from playing sports growing up and breaking them several times. I would wrap them for strenuous activity but yeah, day to day, pain and nothing much else to be done. I'm so sorry! I'm also really interested to hear about your use of Mira!
  • @daisy0322 and you just reminded me that I should set out her carrier so she can get used to it being around haha

@anniemarie887 I honestly don't even know how many mobile vets we have around here! Would be perfect with covid. Thankfully my cat does pretty well going to the vet. Sure she'd rather just stay insider her carrier once we get there, but at least she's not jumping around trying to escape the room

@rachelredhead where are you located? Cuz literally same with the weather lol. Very cloudy right now with highs in the 60s. Rain is expected later today. I'm disappointed though, it was supposed to start raining late yesterday and now that's moved all the way to 2pm today.

@bows22 Oh man, temping would mess with my sleep too. I was also anxious and weird about it. Hopefully you get back into the habit easily! Enjoy your morning and conference! Mine doesn't start until Wednesday.

@daisy0322 Bills bills bills. I hate doing it too. DH is weird and pretends like he wants to do it, but then doesn't actually pay them. Every single month it creates a nagging war of me asking if he paid them. So I get it. Your chart is looking great BTW.

@beakay8 Happy birthday month! I hope your friend recovers okay and everything calms down for you.

@jlbaker08 Sounds like a productive weekend at least!

@annemarie887 Yay for a normal weekend! Such a good feeling. I saw that article today too. Such a bummer.

@gingermama29 Yeah, at this point I think it is okay to start provera or something else to jump start your cycle if you'd like. ***TW*** I had to do that after my loss too. And that sounds like such a good weekend! We are putting garden boxes in this year and will probably start with raspberries.

@inthewoods23 Yay for a productive weekend!

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 9

    WAYDTGKU: Letrozole, Mira

R/R: Sorry to post and ghost over the weekend. Crisis adverted with the Mira monitor. Customer service helped me reset it and it seems to be working fine now. Otherwise, we also did a little yardwork. We actually hired a landscape architect to draw up a plan for the backyard last month. While she was here she gave us some suggestions for the front yard, so we worked on those. We are hiring someone to help with the backyard though. It is pretty big and we are removing like 50% of our grass. Just more work than we are wanting to do on our own.

    CS/Q: Nope

  • @inthewoods23 I’m in Minneapolis. 80 on Saturday and now the highs are in the upper 50s/low 60s all week. I do think it’s supposed to be sunny eventually but these gray skies ruin my mood!
  • bows22bows22 member
@inthewoods23 our vet just started letting people come in on Saturday, but you can still stay in your car if you want to. So it’s kind of like, do they want us to come in or would they rather us just stay in our car? I’m going to ask next time. Our dog cares zero about the vet so I don’t feel the need to go in but I feel bad for the poor animals that get stressed about it.

@anniemarie887 ugh I saw that NYT headline but didn’t click on it. Awful

@rachelredhead I hope a day of rest gets your toe back on track!

@k@kgg2241 I’m so glad your Mira is working now. I felt so bad when I saw your post over the weekend

R/R: We’re getting a new privacy fence put in later this month and have a ton of brush and invasive trees to remove before they can put the fence in. I’m excited about the fence, but dreading all the yardwork that needs to be done ahead of time. It’s raining today though, so good excuse to put it off one more day. 😉

CS/Q: I’ll probably start OPKs in a couple days. What time of day do you all usually test?

@bows22 That’s why I can’t commit to temping yet; I know I would worry about it all night! That method of IUI does sound more stressful.

@daisy0322 Yay for moving to TWW!

@beakay8 Happy birth month! I’m so sorry to hear about your family member. It’s just awful when you can’t seem to catch a break.

@jlbaker08 Man colds are the worst. I honestly think I’d rather be sick than deal with that. :D

@anniemarie887 Glad the wedding was fun and comfortable!

@gingermama29 Gardening work is so satisfying! Hope you are able to get some help and answers on your cycle soon.

@inthewoods23 I love the nicer weather this time of year. I’m thinking maybe we need a gardening thread to show all the work everyone is doing!

@rachelredhead I agree on the mental load of carrying the financial planning for the family. I don’t mind the actual work but stressing about everything is the worst.

@kgg2241 Glad you got the Mira working!

  • @kgg2241 oh I would love to hire someone to do our landscaping! Mostly because there's just so much area to do. We're kind of back to redoing gardens that we did when we first bought the house. It sucks, but we've learned! DH recently discovered that the ferns in front of our house have been trying to propagate more than we thought. I guess some have been trapped under the landscaping fabric! We're basically fern central haha. What are you doing that is going to remove 50% of your grass? Building a patio or just larger gardens?

@rachelredhead ah, hello neighbor to my west! Except I'm a bit further south than Minneapolis. And then everyone in the NE will be having the same weather in a day or 2 lol.

@bows22 I guess your vet's thought is to allow people to do what they're most comfortable with? They do have the option to do a video call during the appointments now so maybe I'll get to do that. I just want to make sure we cover everything I mentioned in the stupid history form AND the form I filled out to make the appointment. What the heck, why do they ask twice . She's turning 9 this year and when she was 6, turning 7 I asked about switching her to the senior formula for cat food and the vet at the time said no even though all the bags say senior is for 7+ years old. With being stuck in the car last year I never got to ask when she was turning 8 so I hope to this year!

@chgilmore Ugh I am so sorry you are still waiting on your thesis acceptance. I ended up having to do an extra semester because mine got delayed too. Partly my fault, but it still sucked. I hope you get an update tomorrow so at least you can plan. And yay for FL! What a fun thing to look forward to.

@inthewoods23 So we actually refinanced last year and are using some of the equity in our house to do it. We really wanted to move to a bigger place, but the market is making that impossible. We decided that if we have to stay here then we need an awesome outdoor space. We are doing a firepit/hang out area, garden boxes, a play area, and then lots of new trees and shrubs. So that's the plan!
  • @kgg2241 ooooh a landscape architect! are you excited about what they'll design?
@abjm0325 hehehe I am an enabler on procrastination so I get you on the raining bit xD on the OPKs, I start doing the test strips around CD 7/8 twice a day (the premom app cues me to do it then based on previous O data and my cycle length). CBAD started on CD 8 (their app also cued me to start then). highly recommend these apps, they're free and you can use any opk strip with the premom one!

  • @jlbaker08 ohh I know the man flu well haha.

@anniemarie887 I am glad you felt a little bit of normalcy. I love that it seems to be slowly returning.

@gingermama29 yay for a productive weekend!  Planting is work but also fun, I think anyway.

@abjm0325 We were in your shoes two years ago.  We got a fence and had a ton of bushes and trees to get rid of.  Awful, but worth it.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 14

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, PNV

R/R: I got so much done this weekend, it felt nice.  Chores and we got our flowers in the front planters.  We don't do much more than that plant wise.  We tore our yard apart last year and put in perennials.  We like it low maintenance. We do, however, have a ton of mulching to do.  Soon.

    CS/Q: nope.

  • @rachelredhead haha my hubs likes to think he’s going to help too - instead to save the nagging we decided I’ll give him little financial “projects” like right now he’s finishing up switching our car insurance that’s a better company and will cost a little less. But he spent like 3 months researching and calling around. It’s actually super helpful and we no longer bicker at all about when we’re paying what. I broke my little toe/ into my foot in HS I had to wear a giant boot and to homecoming I thought I’d be cute since it was almost healed and shove some heels on..... it never healed right and now that foot hurts frequently 🙄 I hope yours heals quickly!

@kgg2241 TBH my mouth was open so I had to snooze my alarm and go back to sleep for like 30 min so my charts making me all kinds of nervous lol. So glad you got your monitor working! Temping is stressful enough.

@abjm0325 oooh a privacy fence is nice! I agree though on procrastination- I’m not a yard work kinda gal

@chgilmore Im sorry about your thesis delay but ENJOY the beach that sounds wonderful you definitely deserve it!

  • @inthewoods23 oh yeah those vet visits feel like they take forever. I took two of my 3 cats to the vet last year and day for so long in the car. They’re juuuuuuust starting to open the waiting room this month.

@anniemarie887 oh interesting! I’m glad I bought two then!

@rachelredhead ouch! Hopefully it’ll feel better soon!

@kgg2241 oh that project sounds so cool. I bet it’ll look amazing!

@abjm0325 sounds like it’ll be worth it but yard work is rough. Definitely satisfying to see when it’s completed though.

@chgilmore that’s so frustrating about your thesis. So sorry to hear that. So jealous of your upcoming vacation though!

@ReadyForaB yay for a productive weekend! Sounds like a lot of us were in the garden this weekend

@abjm0325 eh Monday is a terrible day for manual labor, better to ease in to the week!

@chgilmore hopefully you’ll get good news tomorrow and can celebrate in Florida!
