Nothing sounds good to me right now... the nausea is here at full force. My first food aversion was my daughter’s chicken nuggets this evening... yuck 🤢
  • @rgn12 I’m with you. Things hit me full force this weekend and way way worse than last pregnancy. Today I have managed to have a frozen pancake, a mini sprite, a couple of graham crackers, and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were a real challenge but I thought I should have something that wasn’t just carbs. We have reached the stage where I don’t want to even walk into the kitchen because it smells like “things.” Ugh.
  • Loading the player...
  • Just posted in the symptoms thread but I’m starting to feel nauseous at the thought of eating red meat/chicken which makes me SO sad- I love meat & we eat it a lot in our house. Fruit & pickles & toast (not together haha) has been sounding good. Trying to eat healthy/balanced but it’s hard when you’re queasy!
  • Give me ALL the tacos, ALL the time! Specifically, crunchy tacos. Currently eating my way around town via all the Mexican food restaurants.

Used to love pepperoni, like I’d snag a couple from the fridge as a snack, now they’re gross, lol.
  • My food issue:  I usually cook a nice dinner most nights of the week. I have only cooked once since last Monday! I've made efforts to cook, but between the fatigue and food aversion, it just hasn't happened.

    @midwestmomma2
The local farmer's market here has the -best- half sour pickles. My daughter will ask for pickles instead of sweets! I'm going to grab one right now as I finally am starting to feel like I could eat something. I'm also big meat person (like I'd rather have a slice of meat than a slice of cake) but just haven't been feeling it. Baked potatoes and sour cream sound delicious though.

  • I have just been feeling pretty 'meh" about all food.  The one thing that sounded great this weekend was potato salad.  Nachos, which I love, were kind of a chore to eat.
  • rgn12rgn12 member
@mbradfo2 I had a baked potato yesterday too, and it was nice! Carbs were my friend first time around, so maybe I should try to do more of that now too. I’m trying to eat “normally” even though I feel like crap, which seems to be kind of helping. Last pregnancy I didn’t eat as much and lost like five pounds. It’s a vicious cycle! You’re nauseous, so you don’t eat. Then you’re more nauseous because you didn’t eat. Ughh
  • @mbradfo2 yes!! Homemade pickles are the best!!
  • No aversions or cravings yet but just not all that hungry. And already feeling full much faster than normal. I never had any aversions except seafood at the very end with my dd 5 years ago. With my ds I never had aversions either but craved candy at the end and I am NOT a candy person

  • Bad list: Eggs, anything warm or hot, a lot of meats, pizza, red sauce (tastes like FISH?) and honey mustard seems to be a hard no as well lol.

Good list: Veggie sandwiches with everything seasoning or better yet on an everything bagel lol. And just cold drinks or foods!

  • Half sour pickles.

I actually have an appetite this evening so I'm making a sausage/potato bake; it's just cooked sausage and onions/peppers mixed with parboiled potatoes in a casserole dish, topped with cheddar cheese. Bake for about 20 min. You  can also broil it afterwards to get a nice crust on the cheese.

  • I am eating everything...only five weeks and I am hungry all the time. I woke up starving at 5:30am today and ate popcorn in bed.
  • I'm eating a lot of Tomatoes. Normally I don't eat them because the acidity burns the top of my mouth. Also lots of salads and sandwiches:)
  • Just boring carbs here :( nausea is killing me. Waiting anxiously for my mail order of diclegis to get here and for my Preggo pops from amazon. Do those things actually help?

mint gum has been somewhat distracting from the nausea

First food aversion, anything with sweet potato 🤢

    eta typo 🙈
  • Just feeling kind of meh about food *and* coffee which is v out of character for me. Drinking a lot of tea!
  • @bkjade I gave up both coffee and tea out of fear of them hurting something. I used to dring lots of herbal but gave that up too for fear. What teas are you enjoying right now? I feel like nothing is safe. PGAL brain.
  • So I think I’ve reached peak pregnancy at not even quite 7 weeks. I have been eating so little between nausea and vomiting this past week that I noticed yesterday and today that I’m getting dizzy. So I decided I needed to just get more calories in me from whatever source I could. The only thing that sounded good this afternoon was...cake. So DH trekked to Whole Foods to buy this pregnant lady a berry chantilly cake. It did taste good...but I may never hear the end of this.
  • @blueowl08- I feel you. I’m struggling to eat enough to maintain weight. Maybe ask your doc for a prescription for diclegis? I finally got mine on Friday evening and Saturday I was actually maybe able to eat and keep down 75 percent of a normal days food. My RE told me to eat whatever I could- type of calorie doesn’t matter at this point. So maybe you need cake every day!!!

  • Revealing my strange tastes -- I had a sudden craving for Morningstar Farms' vegetarian buffalo wings over the weekend. Fortunately the store had them! So tasty...

  • I'm just eating all the carbs. My pants are being held together by an elastic (literally). Last pregnancy I gained so much weight in my first trimester and 50 pounds in total. Then after I gave birth I naturally loss 60 so I was smaller then my pre-pregnancy wait. I'm hoping that happens again by the rate I'm eating bagels.
  • I admit, I like the occasional spaghetti o's -- my husband thinks they are disgusting! I've gotten to the stage where I feel hungry but nothing seems good. I made singapore noodles (curry noodles) last night and I ate one or two bites. With DD, I lost about 15-20 lbs in my first trimester from this kind of food adversion. (I did regain all of it in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters!)

My cravings with DD basically fell into two categories:  pho. I made my husband go out for pho every week (sometimes more often). He likes pho so he didn't mind, just thought it was silly!
McDonald's chicken nuggets with honey mustard sauce (I normally -hate- chicken nuggets of any variety but for some reason they just tasted really good)

The funny part is now the only foods DD will eat reliably are soup and chicken nuggets (with chik-fil-a sauce, she loves her sauce).

  • @JamieH2000 I didn’t get an rx, but my ob told me to add unisom to the B6 I was already taking (which I now have) and to message her if it was getting worse. I managed to have a little bit of roast chicken last night, which was a plus, but I woke up this morning and immediately threw up. I ate cake again this morning once I recovered 😂. I’m not at 75% of my normal intake so I definitely need to keep trying and may message my ob later this week if it keeps up.

@PYLWhammy you know, spaghetti-os don’t sound half bad right now! I think I’m now just going to be taking notes on everyone else’s cravings to see if they sound good.

@mbradfo2 pho craving? How interesting. I think my husband would love it if I suddenly got a pho craving (I don’t love Vietnamese food generally, but it’s one of his favorites.)
  • @mbradfo2 that is so funny about your daughter! It’s crazy how stuff like that works
  • @PYLWhammy I think I have spaghetti-o's in my pantry right now! I'm going to look forward to eating those tomorrow!!

I've requested my husband bring me home an acai bowl on his way home tonight. By the time he gets off, gets it, and gets home, it will be another 45 min - 1 hour so I'm debating on just going myself.
  • I really have no appetite, but I’m surviving on Kraft Mac and Raspberry ginger ale. Which is not good because I have had Gestational Diabetes in prior pregnancies and I generally try to eat well during pregnancy. I’m giving myself some grace and just trying to make it thru first tri and then I’ll get more strict.
  • I saw an ad for KFC and I HAD to have it. I ate it and then had to do everything in my power to not throw up!

@brookert615 that was me and Chick-Fil-A last night! I regretted it almost immediately after. But somehow I managed not to throw up 🤣
  • Must. Eat. Nachos.
  • @ottergirl81 I drink a lot of lemon balm, ginger, mint, and LOVE irish breakfast and earl grey. I usually start the day with the real version and switch to decaf after. I have yet to find a decaf tea that tastes as good as the regular version 😭
  • @PYLWhammy - omg I want nachos so badly now 😭
  • I just want hot tea, carbs, and fruit. I have to force myself to eat.
  • Found a new food love: plantain chips. Pickles are also nice. Also, like previous pregnancy, the only thing I actually want to eat is the spiciest anything. It doesn't taste hot to me, so I just keep wanting spicier salsa, hot sauce, curry, etc.
  • @brookert615 and @rgn12 I tried eating a nice breakfast my husband ordered for me (not something I would have chosen but he thought I'd like it) and oh those onions were not sitting well at all🤢

@bkjade those teas you meantiond sound yummy. I afraid of even the herbal teas fearing something in them might be bad. My cupborad consists mostly of fancy herbals I'm scared of.

Really want warm things to drink, but am afraid of tea. Have had some decaf coffee but its just not doing it.
