Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 4/27

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: WTO Tuesday 4/27

  • @gingermama29 that is very frustrating.  These types of situations always amaze me.  Even if you do not think wearing a mask is necessary, when you are with a large group you should do it, if for nothing else, out of respect for other people.  And the fact people were asking why you were wearing masks is ridiculous.  Um, because there is a pandemic going on?

    R/R: another beautiful day! 80 degrees 😍 I’ve had a class on Tuesday nights for the last 8 months and it ended. I really enjoyed it so I’m kinda bummed out. But I am excited to maybe find something I can do to volunteer to replace it.

    CS/Q: not today - I think I’ll take a OPK later out if curiosity but I should probably save my money.

    I have to post and run but I’ll come back later

  • @gingermama29 it’s so wonderful that you got to share your gift of singing in celebration of yourgrandfather’s memory. 🙏

    @ReadyForaB small victories, right?

    @daisy0322 where are you that it’s 80 degrees?! I’d say I’m jealous but I kind of like the monotony of San Francisco weather. What class were you taking?

    Month/Cycle: 16/16

    WAYDTGKU: natural cycle while awaiting IVF commencement / meeting with a new doctor.

    R/R: last night MH cooked me dinner and within 2 hours, my stomach started acting up. This has happened before (his current specialty is stir fry) and so I queried what he put into it. On the surface, all ingredients looked fine (soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil) but when my stomach wasn’t getting better, I looked at the ingredients and discovered that there’s WHEAT in the soy sauce. Last summer I found out that I have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity so I’ve been essentially off it, and whenever I do have some, I always pay the price. Anyways, I’m slightly mad at MH because he obviously didn’t do it on purpose but he never checks labels. The other weird thing is that I’ve used that same soy sauce for marinading, and never had issues.

    In other news, Del (our new dog) has discovered that my meditation nook is perfect for her afternoon naps.

    CS/Q: Officially don’t have a clue what’s happening with my chart. Temp is still low and I can’t even blame it on the low battery warning on my TempDrop since Oura says my temp is below baseline too. I’m positive I O’ed cause of other symptoms (+OPK and EWCM and sore boobs). I may have to get a blood test tomorrow to confirm so that I know when to start progesterone.

  • Oh and replying to yesterday’s reply to @chgilmore: YAS! Glad to see that you’re on top of everything! I’ve never seen anyone here using MF test before. Good for you! Are you in that community too? Have you also had YH get tested? If not, MeetFellow is the test to order. I “push” these tests on ppl even though they cost money but how do you put a price on unsuccessfully trying for a year before being allowed to get tested?! And if you have HSA/FSA, you can write it off.

  • @gingermama29 yikes, i hope you guys stay healthy! and you did the right thing by masking, i'm curious about biden's new announcement about masking that's coming today. our friend who works at johns hopkins has also said like the news that it will be about dropping the requirement to wear masks outdoors unless in large crowded events. i'm impressed about the church enforcing masks, truthfully many of the indoor mask-free photos i see on social media are at church related events.
    @ReadyForaB always nice when the morning doesn't feel like a sprint!
    @daisy0322 yay for warm weather
    @acleverusername that pup is such a cutie! sorry for your stomach troubles, my mom is in the same boat and it's wild how much stuff has gluten hiding in it. a lot of sauces/seasonings... she also can't use a lot of thickening hair products.

    R/R: today is the first full day with my new standing desk adaptor, its 11am east coast, and i've been prob 50/50 sitting standing. hoping this helps my damn si joint.

    CS/Q: nada

  • @acleverusername we’re on the edge of the south here. I try not to give my location away too badly haha. I LOVE hot weather. I was taking a catholic history class. I’m currently on pause for my second degree and I wanted to learn something fun. My brain never shuts off I crave so much new information all the time or I actually get kinda depressed. I watch documentaries s lot and read research journals for fun lol. It’s honestly a curse. You puppy is so sweet! Makes me want another one myself.

    @anniemarie887 let me know how you like the desk! I’ve always wanted one

  • @ReadyForaB yay for un-rushed mornings!

    @daisy0322 enjoy your beautiful weather!

    @acleverusername your pup is adorable. Sorry about the stomach troubles. That’s at frustrating about him not checking the labels.

    @anniemarie887 I hope the stand desk adaptor helps!!
  • @gingermama29 it sounds like you really needed a break and some time away for yourself after the funeral and stressful circumstances afterwards <3
    @ReadyForaB sometimes it's the small things!
    @daisy0322 loving that lean into the nice weather. I feel you on the constant craving of new information. I'm an avid reader myself and get that "oh no I haven't LEARNED anything" slump
    @acleverusername Del is a precious fluffy potato nugget definitely getting the most out of that meditation nook! sorry for the rough time, so weird that something you've used before may have been the culprit. maybe there was something else or a cross contamination? I'm not active on any other communities lol just good ol' TB. on your testing advice: I have been slow to get MH tested for things. He has a severe phobia of needles and blood so if I can avoid that for him I will. He did get testosterone checked a little while ago (in the last 6 months) and those levels were normal. I've told him to schedule a SA with counts and motility and all that. I'll definitely keep MeetFellow in mind, thanks!
    @anniemarie887 I love sitting/standing desks. I would also recommend taking short little walking breaks to keep the joints fluid and moving around. I have SI pain from an old dance injury and that kind of pain ends up everywhere :(

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 3

    WAYDTGKU: pnv, cm/cp, bbt, cbad/opk, going to need to start adding meditation or humming or something to calm my nervous system

    R/R: thanks for the support yesterday, y'all. I am significantly less sad/stressed today. I had a 30 min meeting with my thesis advisor that turned into 90 and we combed through the whole thing and I think I understand her notes now. I am giving myself another 30 minutes or so to relax before diving in and editing the f outta the thing. that is my job today.

    CS/Q: still too early

  • @gingermama29 I'm sorry about the mask stuff, that's very frustrating.

    @ReadyForaB teach me this superpower because I certainly don't have it lol.

    @daisy0322 nice, enjoy the weather!

    @acleverusername what a sweet pup! On the soy sauce, maybe the way it's cooked makes a difference?

    @anniemarie887 good luck with the standing desk, I hope it helps.

    Month/Cycle: 6/6

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, cm, cinnamon supplements

    R/R: got second covid shot yesterday. feel like poop today. Husband feels worse, we're both staying home. At least O isn't expected for like a week so should be okay. Blugh. Better than getting covid though! And in two weeks we can hug our parents and I'm very excited about that.

    CS/Q: a little mountainous on the temps, but that's typical for me.

  • @fantasyflyte little mountainous but not quite yeti territory ;) congrats on the second vaccine, the side effects are not fun but definitely better than COVID!

    @fantasyflyte congrats on the second vaccine. What do you feel like? My husband is getting his on 5/15 which luckily (should) fall during AF if necessary. It was a concern of ours if it fell during O week lol. He is planning on gatorade and Tylenol. That is his personal "go-to" and he has heard it helps. Who knows. My boss got hers yesterday morning and had me reschedule her day today.

    @boymama2018 @babyodo I got the pfizer one. Had pretty much no reaction to the first. This one I basically feel like I've got a bad cold. Not fun, but no fever or anything and not feeling crappy enough to take anything. Funnily enough, my arm hurts way less this time than with the first dose.
    My husband had chills and a low grade fever overnight, but overall not the sickest either of us have ever felt, and it's way better than getting actual covid in our books.
    My sister had a similar reaction, chills, feels like she has a bad cold. My brother has a stiff neck and swollen lymph nodes but that's it. All 4 of us were vaccinated with the second dose yesterday or the day before.
    I definitely think it was worth it to get it. Plus with all the masking, I never got a bad cold this winter so I was due to feel cruddy for a day anyway lol. :joy:
    It helps for me personally that I know I shouldn't O for like a week anyway, so I wasn't worried about it affecting TTC at all.
  • @anniemarie887 I hope you're feeling better after a full day of work with your sit/stand desk.
    @chgilmore glad to hear that the meeting with your supervisor went so well. Hopefully you slayed it today!
    @fantasyflyte Yay for being fully vaxxed! Immunity here we go! (So happy & jealous you'll get to see your family after the wait).
    @babyodo I guess you're still working for the same company? Happy to hear the new role/office is so much better.
