Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Weekend 4/17 - 4/18

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: WTO Weekend 4/17 - 4/18

  • Month/Cycle: 6/6
    CD: 3
WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, cm, cinnamon supplements
R/R: I like posting in the morning because typing my supplement always reminds me that I should probably take that now, huh? It's still chilly here, but not raining anymore, an it'll be a solid 10 degrees F warmer than yesterday so that's always good. Plus we're hopefully going to do lunch at my mom's outside tomorrow. Only a few more weeks until we can properly get together with them (they're already fully vaccinated, and my husband and I get our second shots a week from Monday).
I have an 8 hour shift this afternoon/evening which I am NOT looking forward to in the middle of my period.
GTKY:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? Teleportation and/or flying, I'd get SO MUCH time back in my day if I didn't have to drive places.
CS/Q: nothing yet, but I did remember to temp this morning, so that's better than yesterday lol
  • @fantasyflyte warmer weather just automatically puts me in a better mood. Probably because that means outdoor activities can happen! Hope the shift goes by quickly today!

    Month/Cycle: 10

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: trying not to stress about it

R/R: It's the weekend! And it's April break for me. I have so many things to catch up on - housework, dissertation writing - and my grades are all posted so I don't have to worry about work! Such a good feeling.

GTKY:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? +1 for teleportation. Would love not to have to drive everywhere

Limiting caffeine, sugar and fake sugars, RRL tea, myo-inositol, l-arginine, pom concentrate, beets/beet juice, avocados, probiotics, prenatals, DHA, CoQ10, Zinc, C, D/K, CalMag, Fish Oil, Flax Oil, 1.25 melatonin, Trying to get enough sleep, I should probably also be exercising lol  Eating lower carb, but not currently in ketosis (probably in part due to the beet/pom supplementation.)

</div><div>R/R:  So DH brought me home all the lovely (non-keto) Polish food, which was great.  And he came home too late one night to eat dinner with me, so I just had a shake.  (We will probably have the other perogies on Sunday then instead.)  So I guess mine is a combo rave/rant because yummy polish food is yummy, but I'm still not *quite* in ketosis.  Sigh.  I am trying to tell myself that all the rest of the low carb overall has got to make a difference eventually, even if it's not "perfect keto."

</div><div>CS/Q: I got a little excited and decided to take an OPK. lol It was not totally blank!  Still negative as to be expected, but I wonder if I might have a little earlier ovulation this month.  It used to always vary from about CD11-15 max, but I think CD14 would end up being perfect for my transfer schedule, since I would rather have that happen on a day when SIL is helping me, than MIL. :# So we'll see what happens, how things are looking when I go in on Monday, and then most likely they will have me come back Wednesday.
GTKY:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?  Ha.  Right now, I wish I could see the future.

@fantasyflyte LOL I love your totally practical reason for having flying capabilities!  I hope your long shift flies by... :)</div>

Ok, finally have a quiet morning so jumping back in to the dailies. Happy weekend, ladies!🌞

    Month/Cycle: 35/idk
    CD: 5
WAYDTGKU: Mountains of supplements for both of us (about to reorder on Amazon & cringing at the total $$$), steroids & blood-thinners, healthy foods, sleep, & exercise
R/R: Rave: The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here the past 2 days, and this morning as well. I’m definitely going to get outside to do some physical activity.
GTKY:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I’d like to have some ability to do something about all the plastic in the world. This really does worry me, especially how it’s turned the ocean into a dump. So, some sort of magnet or net that can scoop all that crap out and magically transform it into something useful & non-polluting. Pollyanna of me, I know.
    CS/Q: Not yet
@fantasyflyte Hope the shift goes quickly today!
@fameonmain2 Good luck with those chores around the house. Congrats on grades being done—such a relief!
@BusinessWife Hang in there with the keto diet. I do believe, like you, that the low carb is beneficial even if you don’t get into ketosis. 🙂

So happy to see @fameonmain2 and @keikilove back here! Your absence has been felt deeply.

@fantasyflyte oooh you're so close to being able to hang out with your fam without distancing! Good luck with the 2nd shot. Remember that it takes about 2 weeks post shot to achieve the benefits from it. And also, I hear Moderna shot # 2 is a doozy.

@fameonmain2 Loving your positive attitude! Good luck catching up with chores and dissertation writing!

@BusinessWife nice pun! I would have to say seeing the future would be near the top of my list. In terms of ketosis, what's the max amount of carbs you need to have to achieve that? (In grams.)

@keikilove I read your updated in IF and seriously thought... you're a wonder woman (well I knew that already) to be able to do all that work! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your super power. I've been increasingly aware of everything that's not recyclable (which is most plastics). I think the recent John Oliver episode had a profound effect on me.

    Month/Cycle: 16/16

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: since @BusinessWife listed all her vitamins, I will too! Here goes... baby aspirin, Modern Fertility prenatal, added 3200 mcg methyfolate (for MHTFR mutation), 100mcg selenium, 800IU vitamin E, 6000IU Theralogix Vitamin D3, 500mg bromelain (luteal phase only; start 1DPO), 200mg Tru Niagen NAD, 2400 fish oil, 150mg pterostilbene, 3000mg vitamin C, 2x NeoQ10, 25mg iron. Also taking 3mg [low dose] naltrexone (because of Hashimoto's) and escitalopram for anxiety management.

R/R: Rave -- made my first meal from my IVF nutrition program! Will post to the Baking, Cooking, etc. thread. Also went for a 1h5min walk today to get groceries and rewarded myself with an oat milk latter. Decided this will be the way I motivate myself to stay active: no exercise, no oat milk latter. Also have a couple of leads on a car I want (@businesswife I'm buying a Mazda Miata) so will drive and check them out tomorrow. Maybe drive down tonight since it's 3 hours away. Not sure yet.

GTKY:  If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? Similar to @businesswife, it would be to turn back time (a la Hermione's time turner) so that I can do more stuff! Hahaha.

CS/Q: I'm entering what @fantasyflyte calls Yeti-ville. But no O in sight because still getting Low on CBAD. This is looking good for my desired later O!

  • @acleverusername yep, we get our 2nd shots a week from Monday, so only about 3.5 weeks until we can see our parents properly. We lucked out and got Pfizer, so fingers crossed we won't be knocked down by it. My sister's husband got Moderna and had some covid arm after the first shot, so fingers crossed for him on the 2nd.

    @fameonmain2 wooo break! Enjoy it!

@BusinessWife fingers crossed on a good O date for you!

@keikilove nice to see you! Enjoy the nice weather.

  • @acleverusername Selenium!  Yes, I forgot that one.  I used to take it (and probably still have a bottle lying around here) but I have been doing a Brazil nut a day as a food-based source! 🤣 👍👍 The things we do for TTC... Ooh!  Have fun checking out the cars!

@keikilove Your superpower sounds awesome.  True story, and if this doesn't make you mad, I'd be surprised.

<div class=" Spoiler">So the whole joke with the recycling thing we were all brought up with -- only just now came to find out from a serendipitous conversation with our waste removal vendor -- basically, we (the US) pay China to take the raw materials / recyclables off our hands (USA gets to be all virtuous by not dumping it in landfills)... Only to have them basically process and churn out whatever the heck they do with it, <i>and then sell the recycled products right back to us</i> - creating horrible emissions in the process, 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦 bc they dgahoot.  Something seem off here????  Spoiler alert, it's still the same planet we all live on.

So this is when we couldn't figure out why we couldn't seem to get recycling pick up scheduled from our house / work location, and he's like, uh, because it costs us so much more to recycle it, so.... 🤷 I guess we'll just keep driving our recycling to the dump ourselves then!  But honestly. 😡😡😡</div>
I was just beside myself when I heard that.  Like my whole little grammar school eco-worldview just came crashing down. 😫😫😫 I still don't even know what to do with that information.  But I like your superpower. 😆

Re: carbs ...and of course I say that, and then this happens!

    *something I peed on* lol<div class="Spoiler"><img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/4a/j4gop0f46jgr.jpg" alt="">
<p>🎉🎉🎉</p><p>I guess I'm not doing that bad, afterall!</p></div>
  • @BusinessWife good work on ketosis! Definitely something to celebrate.
