Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: 🌮

Upcoming appointments: I still haven't called to book my 18w appointment. Anatomy scan is the 29th.

How are you feeling?: I. general, pretty crap. Pregnancy wise, I'm good. I feel more energetic and I'm craving alot of fruit and veg which is nice. My children have been a bit much the past few days, especially today, and with the news of them not going back to school until likely September  I had a bit of a breakdown today.

Rants/Raves: Nothing pregnancy related. As much as I'm sad for the schools to be closing indefinitely, I am glad it's happening. It's going to be hard because my kids definitely learn way better and are happier in  in-person schooling. They also very much need the break from each other. At least this time it will be a little easier because we can spend alot more time outside, and our moods should be a little higher than they were in the winter. Winter is always mentally tough for me.

    Questions: Nah.

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? I loved Barbies and videos games. I can't really remember any specific toy. I grew up in a home daycare so there was always TONS of toys. I also loved spending alot of time outside playing and at the YMCA so most of my childhood memories involve one of those 2 things lol

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: not until 5/4- 20 w check up and anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: good! I was able to stop the Unisom/B6 over the weekend and haven’t had any vomiting since Friday- woot woot!

Rants/Raves: rave- I’m feeling movement! Yay! I love those tiny kicks! Rant- we are on our 7th straight day of rain 😩

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? I really liked my American Girl doll. Easy Bake Oven was a favorite too! We played a lot of board games- tribond kids, Yahtzee Jr (the Disney version of course!), scategories... so many board games!

@chewie5990 I’m sorry about the slewing situation! I need my space to sleep too!

@CanadianGamerMom did your kids have in person school at all this year? That’s rough that they won’t be back until September. Hugs!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: EDD 9/20, 17 weeks today

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a pomegranate!

Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan 5/3! 20 week checkup later that week too.

How are you feeling?: I was doing so well but I’m finally starting to feel the aches and pains of pregnancy plus toddler. Whether it be “angry belly cramps” or back ache, or leg pain.... it’s all coming and I really didn’t experience much of that when I was pregnant and childless! A little nervous that it’s all kicking in so early, because it feels like a long way to go and a downward slope. I’m also starting to swell a bit which is pretty typical, but it always flares up some nerve compression in my hand(s). Again, something that definitely didn’t happen until my 3rd trimester last time!

Rants/Raves: DH got his second dose of Moderna today. So far he feels great! Fingers crossed it stays that way! I’m a VIB, so I get to shop the Sephora sale starting tomorrow which I’m pretty hyped about. I’m running out of everything so this came at the right time.

Questions: Any brilliant ways to reduce swelling aside from staying hydrated? This is always such a problem for me. Pregnant or not!

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? Much like @emjeve I collected American Girl dolls! I had 8 of them. Still have them in a box somewhere!

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:  16 weeks exactly

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an avacado

Upcoming appointments: Friday - can't wait as I've been having anxiety about not feeling much movement yet

How are you feeling?: Im feeling much better nausea wise, though I still have occasional waves of it at night. But I'm SO. SO. TIRED. These pregnancy caffeine "rations" are just not cutting it. The coffee thing has been hard for me - it's totally my crutch.

Rants/Raves: DH got some cryptic email from work, asking him to outline all of his responsibilities at the company. So that's got him pretty worried. I told him not to worry but I'm definitely stressing a little, as he's the primary earner in our household.

Questions: anyone else not really feeling any movement yet?

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid?  I was really into My Little Ponies (I hated dolls/barbies). I remember having a my little pony house, which had a pool with a diving board. My cat used to drink out of the pool lol. Funny what you remember!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 16+1, 9/26

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: CD. Which seems really large eek

    Upcoming appointments: tomorrow!

How are you feeling?: Pretty decent. Been having a lot of headaches and food aversions are here to stay I guess.

Rants/Raves: I’m overly stressing about the house situation because our house hasn’t sold yet and it’ll be a week on the market tmrw. Normally I wouldn’t be worried but with this market I was really expecting more interest and we don’t have a whole lot of time to sell with the new house being ready soon. We use the VA loan so we need to settle same day or before 😫

    Questions: Natm

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? I had a shit load of barbies
  • @chewie5990 yesss I don’t know why but the toys nowadays are way more flimsy. I got the boys a kid Kraft fire house and the thing is falling all apart, planning to recycle it during the move

@kissyfir1586 I haven’t been feeling movement really - a little bit that may be gas related or may be baby, I’m not totally sure!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/16; 17+4

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pomegranate

Upcoming appointments: AS next week with the MFM and a regular OB appointment.

How are you feeling?: My hips hurt. I need to keep up with my PT exercises so I can stay ahead of the pain. Other than that I’m feeling great.

Rants/Raves: Spring has finally arrived and all the snow is finally melting. We have ground water coming into our basement which is a pain. DH found the leak though so fortunately it isn’t as bad as we originally thought.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid?  When I think of my childhood I remember playing with mud a lot.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/22, 16w 6d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: avocado

Upcoming appointments: midwife tomorrow, MFM next week

How are you feeling?: keep getting headaches and fatiguing by dinnertime but not able to sleep till late at night. But overall OK.

Rants/Raves: Rave: I was really worried about my bro getting covid as his lungs aren't the best, but he's doing good now.
Rant: our housing and rental market is insane. 2 years ago we paid 900/month to rent a large 2 bedroom basement. Now a ONE bedroom is going for 1800!??!! And about 6 years ago, our old landlord's house was sold about 600k (which was a lot for then). Now it's about 1.2 million+ (and it sounds like you have to bid an extra 200 or 300k if you want your offer to go through). How is anyone going to be able to afford to live when their entire paycheck goes to housing???
    Questions: natm

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? Beanie Babies. My neighbor and I had a ton of them and would spend hours making up elaborate stories with them.
  • @CanadianGamerMom I'm so sorry, that must be really tough! I'm so done with the gov't waiting till things are terrible and then putting in restrictions that take months to have any effect.
@kissyfir1586 let us know what that random email ended up being about!
  • @chewie5990 I hope you can be back in your own house in your own bed soon!
@CanadianGamerMom I'm so thankful the weather is nicer now. We have all been stir crazy for months! Although it did snow here again last night.
@kissyfir1586 I am also in the anxious lack of movement stage. I'm still not sure if my placenta is anterior or posterior so that might be a factor.
@paulpaw we don't get MLK day so no holidays from New Years Day to Memorial Day  :s I did have one day off but it was for traveling with DS and MH so not really a day off. I might need to use a day soon just to sit on my butt.
@whatabout2ndbreakfast I hope you get an offer soon! Has anyone that looked at it provided feedback?
@emeraldcity1214 ugh water in the basement is the worst! We had that happen the spring before DS was born when I was like 8 months pregnant. We just tore out the walls and carpet and left it unfinished and a mess until we could get a second sump pump installed months later.
@sleepydaze some people just can't. The housing market has increased exponentially but wages have not. The whole system is broken.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/18 17+3

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Chipmunk

Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan 5/4 and MH can come!

How are you feeling?: Eh some days are amazing! Other days my nausea is back, my hips hurt and I'm exhausted. I had some major allergies going on last week and that seems to be improving but still have some lingering phlegm.

Rants/Raves: A lot of things it seems. I'm going back into the office every Wednesday starting tomorrow so I splurged on some more maternity things so I have stuff to wear and not the same outfit every week (they might start to notice and question my home life after a few weeks). MH is in the process of buying a new truck and inventory is so low that he keeps talking about driving to Montana to pick up this one in particular he wants. Like there's not a single vehicle within an hour or so that you could buy? He does have an appointment with a dealer this afternoon and they have ONE single truck that he thinks he wants so hopefully I can stop hearing about trim packages and bed liners soon.

Lastly, I live in the Twin Cities about 10 miles from where George Floyd was killed and protests raged for weeks last year and about 8 miles from where Daunte Wright was killed. It has been weighing heavy on me. I know I need to distance myself from the news because I didn't sleep for like a week last year but at the same time I recognize my privilege in being able to turn it off and not pay attention to it for a bit. I'm worried about our community and the world we live in and especially bringing a new life into this mess.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? Like @emjeve and @runningonindie I too was an American Girl doll fan! I have 11 and they are all boxed up and sorted out and ready for my kids some day!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: video game controller

Upcoming appointments: 4/30 for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: I'm having a rough couple of days, so I'm feeling pretty down. Pregnancy-wise everything seems great, I feel baby move quite often now. Still having mild cramps and discomfort.

Rants/Raves: Just trying to get through the next month, really. Ready for my weekly countdown? (I need some good news) 1 week until immunity, 2.5ish weeks until my anatomy scan, 5ish weeks until summer!

    Questions:

GTKY: What was a favorite toy of yours as a kid? All the dolls, barbies, and polly pockets.
  • @krash We have found lots of earthquake damage which is likely from the big earthquake they had a few years ago. DH thinks we need to have half of the house lifted and the foundation fixed. One side of our house has a crack that goes all the way through and there is a sunken place in the backyard that lines up with that huge crack. I’m just glad the leak is obvious so it will be much easier to fix. Also, I’m glad DH was home yesterday to deal with the water. He said he dumped the shop vac 38 times. 😳 I have had to deal with all the water every other time because he always ends up being out of town when the snow melts.
  • @Aerialmrs I forgot about Polly Pockets! I loved those!
    image
  • @Aerialmrs and @CanadianGamerMom Yes! Polly Pocket! I loved those too!

  • Yesss Polly pockets were the best! My mom still has some at her house. None of the little pollys but the houses and the boys love looking at them
  • @whatabout2ndbreakfast My mom kept all of my polly pockets and american girl dolls! She's definitely hoping for a girl this time so she finally has a reason to have saved all of them!
  • @babybelugaco sorry your dealing with stomach bugs - that's always the worst! I hope everyone if feeling better!
  • @babybelugaco ugh stomach bugs suck, even more so when you’re pregnant! I had one at 38w while my husband was out of town with #2. I basically begged my parents to have me over so that I could lay down and they could entertain #1 😂 I hope you all get over it super quick!
  • @krash_ take your you day, Memorial Day is late this year

@babybelugaco yay for BIL moving out!
  • @babybelugaco hope he is approved soon! You've been waiting soooo long!
