  • @acleverusername huzzah!

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week?
Loooong story short, I started focusing on eating healthier in general about two years ago and then when I reached my goal weight in Jan of last year, I started incorporating working out doing something I loved. Then quarantine came and with it lots of waves of ambivalence and feeling like I'm in survival mode. But now that I'm vaccinated and back to a more regular schedule going back to work, I'm trying to figure out a healthy routine that works for me, too. This week, I'm focusing on making sure I make myself avocado toast with scrambled eggs every day - it's my favorite regular breakfast and I never get tired of eating it, and it's pretty easy to make when you use the microwave for the eggs.

How's everything going? Any recent wins?
In my pole classes, I've been at the "basic spins" level since I started going in Jan of 2020 (granted, there have been two breaks between then and now because of shutdowns), and there are certain things I have to do to level up. Yesterday in class I finally managed to do one of the climb things on my "adventure side" (non-dominant side climb) and I am feeling so powerful!

What has you motivated or struggling this week?
The sun is really motivating me and keeping me energized for the most part, but in recent weeks, as the day goes on I get really sleepy and then tend to cancel going to class at basically the last minute. Trying not to do that this week!

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? Continuing to eat clean all week, getting my 30 minute walks in every day. Focusing on not getting stressed, thinking positively! Falling asleep at night envisioning having my rainbow + getting a positive HPT.

How's everything going? Any recent wins? I am in my third and final month of being benched due to the MTX shot I got on Jan 31st. You have to wait 3 months to TTC after getting it. My (self inflicted) OB appointment for a check up, u/s to get the green light is this Friday at 8:00am.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? My doctor appointment is motivating me and also making me struggle! So ready to close this chapter and start TTC again. I have been so excited for it this whole time I have been benched and now that it is coming I am getting a bit nervous. Worried something won't be right and it will cause me to have to wait longer. Whatever that may be. I think because that is my biggest fear right now! Trying to get into a mind set where this is an EXTRA dr. visit that they didn't even think was necessary and that everything will be fine.

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week?

Cutting out coffee, fake sugar, and carbs.
    <div>
</div><div>How's everything going? Any recent wins? So far so good!  Yesterday wasn't perfect keto, but I also wasn't planning on starting till Monday, so I considered it a bonus day.  Three days in and I'm *virtually* coffee free.  Day 1 was great, but yesterday I was having really bad headaches that I wasn't sure how much were hormonal or caffeine related, so I had just a little half cup, and I might have a little half cup this afternoon because I'm falling asleep in my chair.  But I consider it a huge win already having broken the habit of drinking coffee automatically upon coming downstairs!</div><div>
</div><div>What has you motivated or struggling this week?  Struggling with the sluggishness of starting keto + stopping caffeine lol but mentally I am very motivated to stick it out, so I am looking forward to being in the other side.</div>

@BusinessWife Great job with KETO + coffee!! I had those coffee headaches when I quit. I ended up having some caff tea in the morning to help. It is hard but you will get there! It is one less vice/thing for me to think about while TTC lol.
  • Oh my gosh when I gave it up cold turkey in January 2016 I wasn't even thinking. I got so sick!  Like wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with the flu.  It was crazy.  I didn't even realize why I felt so bad until it finally dawned on me lol so so far, it's going much better than that! @boymama2018
  •  What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? I will hit my 100th peloton cycle weds! I’m doing Denis’ live White Stripes ride and I’m pumped! I want to go through the four week crush your core program again as well.

How's everything going? Any recent wins? I am not a cardio person at all, yoga and walking were always my jam. This month is a year of having the peloton and I’m so proud of myself for using it! It’s had its ebbs and flows, but an average 2-3 rides a week makes me proud of myself.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? I have sciatic issues that randomly flair up and am currently dealing with that and week two of an over worked shoulder. Getting old sucks sometimes.
  • So I mentioned in the dailies, DH stopped for all this yummy Polish food.... That's not keto! 🤦🤦🤦 Which you already figured.  So plus side, I don't have to worry about cooking the next couple nights.  Down side is I guess I just have to do the best I can all day, and then not stress too much at dinnertime if it's not perfect. 🤷 Cabbage rolls I'm sure have rice, perogies are well, Perogies! Lol but that borscht tho - excited about growing an awesome lining with those BEETS! Lol it is what it is.

    How was your 100th cycle???? 🎉🎉🎉🎉 @anniemarie887

How are your walks going? @boymama2018. Coffee has been going pretty well here, judging by the Solid half a pot left over at the end of the night!! Lol DH is like, why didn't you tell me it was there?  ...bc I'm really just not even thinking about it that much? 🤷 I did make an irish breakfast tea with a little heavy cream yesterday afternoon and it was like whoa lol<div>
@chgilmore how bout that avocado toast!  So yummy.  I got a nice cache of avocados and guac delivered so I have been enjoying that... With a spoon 😖

@acleverusername Haiiiii!  How's it going over there, lady?</div>
  • mmmmmm @BusinessWife pierogis! yum!! Cycle was great, had 2 friends join me, hit a PR! WOO WOO thanks for asking
  • @BusinessWife so far so good! I have made myself do it for breakfast every day this week and it is so worth it my body is thankful :) keto is a journey and you're doing your best considering you have other people in your household! MH tries to be supportive but then he'll buy chips and gummy bears to snack on alllllll day lol.

@BusinessWife walks are good thank you for asking! I have to take today off though because its a rainy nasty day out! Sounds like you are making major progress on the coffee front  all of that food sounds delish. I actually found a cinnamon apple tea from celestial tea and it is really yummy! I am mentally preparing myself for my OB appointment tomorrow so I kind of wish I could take a walk because that relaxes me haha. I randomly ovulated a few days early making this cycle shorter than my norm....hoping everything checks out okay so I can move on with my journey!
  • Oops - I said I needed this thread this week, and promptly disappeared! Thanks for the check-in @BusinessWife

@chgilmore YAS for using your non-dominant side in pole! I remember when I used to do that, it was such a victorious feeling that my left side was just as strong as my right!

@boymama2018 good for you on the walks and clean eating; keeping stress down is a struggle but one worth fighting. Hope your doc gives you good news.

@BusinessWife Cutting out coffee & starting keto in the same week is brutal! But you're probably like me whereas it's easier to make a clean break rather than transition. Keep up the good work!

@anniemarie887 Congrats on the huge achievement! Enjoy the White Stripes live ride. How does that work? Is the band actually playing "live"? And I totally hear you on not being a cardio person; I never was one until I moved to California and become a runner. Ran a half-marathon within 1.5 years. But then my knee started hurting so I've had to stop running on asphalt.

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? Getting ready to start a Mediterranean diet. Also starting to re-incorporate walks into my daily routine. I took a pause from physical activity in November to focus on mental health and now that I have a good mindfulness routine, I can start to re-incorporate exercise.

How's everything going? Any recent wins? Was doing well until yesterday when MH and I got so angry at our power company (power went out 4 times in the span of 3-4 hours), and decided to order in / have wine. So currently regretting that decision given lack of sleep and accompanying headache. Also haven't really worked out this week! Tomorrow morning though... I will go out to the track for walk/run.

What has you motivated or struggling this week? The biggest motivation for me right now is upcoming IVF and wanting to get back to my "ideal pre-pregnancy weight" that I maintained most of last year. But after 8-9 months of unsuccessfully TTC (including 2 failed IUIs), I fell off the wagon and gained 15lbs. Some of these need to go before IVF because I expect to gain another few pounds with injections. I know that by observing good eating habits just getting out more will help me drop some of these extra pounds easily.

  • @chgilmore I dated a Lebanese guy for 6 years so as a result I LOVE Lebanese food. Really looking forward to baba ganouj, tabbouleh, falafel, hummus, etc.

@acleverusername ha live jack white and meg would be so fun! but alas no, a live ride just means you're taking it in a real time broadcast from the studio in nyc vs a prerecorded class. most people feel like they work harder and are more likely to get a pr on a live class. and then as for the white stripes part, peloton has an artist series where they pick an artist (my fave probably has been lauryn hill) and they will do classes across the entire platform (so think bike/tread/weight/yoga) that the class is only that artist. so if you're a big fan or music nerd i think it's just a fun workout of all that artists' tracks.

also a half marathon is amazing, bravo! i literally could not run if my life depended on it. with having knee issues spin might be a good fit for you!
  • @acleverusername. There you are! 🤣

You are doing great. ❤️ YMMMV, but I gained 5 lbs per cycle.  So 5 for one retrieval, 5 for another, 5 for failed transfer, and 5 more just for fun. 😜

    <div class=" Spoiler">So I fully started pregnancy another 20 lbs more than I thought I would. :/ </div>
Not saying that to discourage or scare you - quite the opposite. ❤️ You are doing awesome.  Do what you can, but sanity comes first.  Whatever happens, happens, but if/when it goes well?  You are 1000% NOT GOING TO CARE lol So just do the best you can and stay positive, I think is the best advice I can possibly give. (Not that you asked lol)
  • @BusinessWife Oh yeah, I totally know what to expect with the stim cycle... that happened. I have photos of my bloated belly somewhere in the depths of my iPhone storage.

Today, a switch went off... I have this ON/OFF mode and when I surpass a certain weight threshold, it's like I turn into a different person. Today was this day (though I'm probably not being fair to myself since I did go out for dinner last night). Anyhow, I downloaded the Lose It app, set myself up for goals and also dragged DH out for a walk to get an oat milk latte (our favorite). 54 min walking to get a 150cal drink... Not too shabby! Goal is to lose all the "infertility depression" weight by Jun 20.

  • @acleverusername I know exactly what you mean by the weight threshold person! Last week I hit it and that's when I told MH "we aren't buying cookies anymore". Oat milk lattes are also my fav :)
  • @acleverusername thank you!! I do think eating clean makes such a difference for me. We order take out for dinner only twice week (weekends) its still nothing too bad but its not made at home and I can totally tell. I can't order take out too much anymore. The Mediterranean diet sounds so healthy and delish. I love the olive oil aspect. I cook with so much olive and avocado oil. I also love olives! lol. I still had maybe 5-10 lbs to lose before Covid/quarantine. THEN I put on 20 due to that. It was bad but honestly it was mostly due to: drinking red wine too freely, eating dinner too late and carbs. What a recipe for disaster for me that was. It took from July-December but through clean eating and IF and the peloton I managed to lose it all. I was determined to lose it before TTC #2. But, I will say that I was a bit too intense with the IF and intense working out.....I wouldn't do it as much leading up to TTC in hindsight. I think it messed with my hormones a bit. But boy did it help me lose those pesky pounds. I would do it again post partum though! Maybe just make sure to eat more during my eating window.  :) REALLY enjoying just eating clean and going for walks now!
