Trying to Get Pregnant

Re: TWW Thursday 4.15

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1
    CD/DPO: CD 18 / DPO 1
    Timing: -5, -2, 0
    Typical LP length: 14 days
Testing: I'm going to *try* to wait until 12 DPO... I'm saying that here because I'm usually good about committing to things when there are witnesses to the thing I said I would do, even if that thing is waiting.
R/R: Rave: extremely proud of my employer bringing Bystander Intervention training to us; Rant: I'm really sick of headaches I have every day of my natural cycle.
    CS/Q: Nada.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5
    CD/DPO: 23/?
    Timing: who knows
    Typical LP length: 14
    Testing: prob not
R/R: i just ordered myself a poke bowl for lunch, and i am pumped about it. had some cramps yesterday, so i'll be very curious how this goes, if AF shows up day 25 like she has been, or if i'm really going ot have a 30 day cycle like flo seems to think. it's all a mystery at this point. also, true confession - debating just a ntnp mentality for the summer vs a more focus effort of opks and tracking. i'm not sure if i'll jump back to opks next month. there's a part of me that wants to try and enjoy this vaccinated summer and feel good about a little traveling, having some adult beverages... and being preg would obvs inhibit that, but obvs wanting to get preg as well.

  • Alright finally popping over here!
@beakay8 12 DPO solidarity buddies! I'm sorry about your headaches though, they're no fun :( but glad that you get bystander intervention training! do you feel like something in particular has been most impactful?
@anniemarie887 hey, TTGP is a marathon, and (not that you're asking for permission lol) if that means you want to focus on a laid back summer, that's okay! you gotta take care of yourself, and sometimes that means letting yourself have fun :)

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD/DPO: 19, 2 DPO

    Timing: -5, -2, -1

    Typical LP length: 13/14

Testing: I am going to try and wait for 12 DPO but I know myself and I'll probably start at 10 xD

R/R: It is still so sunny and WARM out here - creeping up to almost 80. I also had my interview this morning for a full-time position at my internship site that was basically a formality so I very very likely have this job!!

CS/Q: not a whole lot to see, just the temp bump and no FF crosshairs
  • @chgilmore hey hey 12 dpo buddy! love that. So, I did Bystander Intervention training on my own time last week with a different organization leading it, and I thought it was incredible; I learned so much. I am also going to attend the one at work to see what differences there may be, and if I learn anything more new. For me, the most impactful takeaways were (1) there are several different ways of intervening to be of support or aid, and figuring out which I am most comfortable with (and realizing I do that sometimes, so feeling like I do it more intentionally now), and (2) being reassured that my safety is my #1 priority in all situations, and how to balance that with stepping up or stepping in to support someone else. If anyone ever wants more info about this kind of training, I'm happy to share where I've done it in a PM. Good luck & all the good vibes towards your job interview stage! Remember, counter when they offer you the pay. ;) (I'm a hiring manager for my team; I love when someone we make an offer to counters our offer.)

@anniemarie887 if you need a vaccinated summer of ntnp buddy, let me know! I'm taking this month and *maybe* next month to do OPKs to get a feel for my first few cycles off of BC but then want to do the summer with a more casual, relaxed way since it's the first summer in a long time we can see family again, and I want to prioritize making time for my family and not stress about if it's impacting my TTC journey right now. <3
  • @beakay8 that training sounds so important! appreciative of the reassurance about maintaining personal safety as well but also finding ways to be supportive while maintaining that safety. thanks for the vibes and hot tips! it's community mental health so I know I don't have a lot of wiggle room, but I think I have some good bargaining up my sleeve ;)
  • @beakay8 so sorry about your headaches! Having them daily sounds really difficult.

@anniemarie887 I can totally understand considering NTNP over the summer. It’s like we lost out on a year and pregnancy can definitely inhibit some fun. And as we all know, TTGP is a lot of work- almost seems like a part time job sometimes

@chgilmore congratulations on your interview! Jealous you’re seeing almost 80 degree temps! We creeped back into the 50s/60s this week so can’t wait for even warmer weather.

    Month/Cycle:  4/4
    CD/DPO:  20/ 4 DPO (I think?)
    Timing: -3, O
    Typical LP length: 11 days
Testing: I’ll try to wait for 11 DPO but probably more likely 10 DPO
R/R: I am loving the spring weather and blooming trees! I feel so refreshed when spring finally arrives. Rant...MH and I have been talking about summer plans recently- I love to plan, he would rather go with the flow so we both get a little impatient with one another...
CS/Q: curious if others have had a similar situation... I got my 2nd vaccine dose on CD 14 and had some side effects the next day. I had a slight fever on CD 15 and a positive OPK test that day, and then my temp was still a little elevated on CD 16. Since I can’t rely on temps to confirm, I changed the FF override setting to OPK/Monitor. Wondering if that’s the best approach or what others have done if they’ve had a fever right around ovulation?
  • @beakay8 that training sounds so good! And so timely. I’m in HR and the bystander training we offer is meh decent. Oh, and I also always encourage countering a first offer ;)
  • @beakay8 GL waiting until 12dpo! I'm a habitual 10dpo-er.

@anniemarie887 sometimes a break is the perfect thing. Or maybe always travel right after AF arrives so you know you can drink? Ha

@chgilmore I'm jealous of your weather! We're back in the 40s/50s these days. I missed when it was 60+. Spring is such a tease.

    Month/Cycle: 5 AL

    CD/DPO: 24/3

    Timing: -4, -2, -1, +1

    Typical LP length: 13 days

    Testing: Earth day! 4/22

R/R: 2 rants - our internet went out around 1am so I have  to work in the office again today (which I'm actually liking... But I've been able to go home and eat lunch with DH each time and that's always a big plus). Still no internet as of lunch time 🤷‍♀️. 2nd rant - my puked while we were gone but rave - she did it on the tile 😆. She rarely pukes so not sure if it was something she ate. Usually you can tell when she got into something she shouldn't have. Like the rubber soles of our shoes 😑

CS/Q: got CH this morning. I was so close to a 10dpo birthday 😬 glad I don't have to go through testing then. Would be a nice birthday gift to myself.

  • @chgilmore congrats about the interview! exciting stuff!
@beakay8 there's a solid chance i'll be taking you up on that!
@sundaymorning713 and yes, that's really where the root of this comes from - feeling like i lost out on last summer
@inthewoods23 already screwed the pooch on that one, lol. i just planned a girls weekend at the beach in june for what would be right in the tww. oops. and as a fellow pet owner i can totally respect the puking on tile/hardwood over a rug/carpet!

  • @inthewoods23 I definitely appreciate a non-carpet pet puke lol. and nice CH!

@sundaymorning713 I must be missing something in the FF settings, how do I do that? my temps almost never match up with a proper dip and I think that delays it recognizing O
  • @anniemarie887 lol whoops!

@chgilmore go to Settings > Detector/override settings. It's probably set to Advanced.

Thank God for our Nest doorbell. It's the only reason I check that app (although I could for our thermostats), but the camera is up and running which means our internet is working!
