Out of Hospital Birth?

Any mamas here planning an out of hospital birth?

    I go to tour a freestanding birth center tomorrow! I haven't made any official decisions yet, but I'm definitely leaning towards the birth center.

    I will be birthing at the same stand alone birth center I had my 1st in, and same midwife as well. I'm very excited

    That's great @KackiJane! It's encouraging to hear of other ladies who have had great experiences at birth centers! 

    I was very happy with our tour of the birth center & all the time they took just to talk with us & make us feel comfortable! It's 2 midwives & I will see them both throughout my pregnancy.. they were both very sweet! I'm getting swapped over now & super excited!

    The only downsides are it's an hour and a half drive to another state which we will be paying out of pocket for. 
    But I am extremely excited to be with my original midwife and for my partner to experience this amazing time together

    Oh no, out of pocket is tough.. I was looking at 2 different birth centers but one was 30 minutes away & the other was almost an hour.. my first labor was very intense but very quick, an hour and 50 minutes, so I chose the closet one! That is so exciting though & great that you get to use the same midwife so you already have a bond & are comfortable with her!
