Re: Product spotlight: Strollers 2/22
Right now we have a city select (usually about $400-$600 depending on your package) and a double Bob (ours was $600). I like both for different reasons but tend to pick the bob since my kids are now 2.5 and 4.5 and the Bob still pushes like a dream. It's more work to push both kids in the city select and my 4 year old is technically over the weight limit (and he's smaller for his age). Also there are so many more options for stadium seating double strollers out there now, I'm not sure I'd pick the city select again. I do love how easily it converts from a single to a double if you have one vs two kids with you at the moment.
The Bob is a BEAST (!) Of a stroller and is made for jogging. It takes up a lot of trunk real-estate and isn't great for quick in and out type trips. This fits our lifestyle fine, but probably wouldn't work so well if you were a city dweller or are frequently loading/unloading the kids.
I'm currently in looking at the Uppababy MINU, G-luxe or G-lite for number three. I want something lighter weight and and easy to pack up for this last one. We probably won't use it much until they can sit up and don't need the baby seat, do I might hold off. I've also heard good things about Zoe, but also know a few people who hated them. Seems to be a bit polarizing of a brand.
I'm going to be real - if you think you'll use your stroller a reasonable amount just splurge on the stroller. We had chicco travel system and the difference in using the cheaper vs higher end strollers is truly incomparable. If I had a do-over I wouldn't bother with the travel system for even a hot second.
I’m thinking I need a new double stroller that can hold a newborn car seat plus my 3 year old and just assume that my big kid will ride his bike or scooter or walk. But a baby born in October in Iowa isn’t going to get a lot of walks in before the brutal winter sets in so maybe I should just wait until I actually will use it in Spring 2022 and the baby might not need to be in their car seat by then. But I definitely want to invest in something nicer than the Graco one I got second hand because I just hate it so much 🤣🤣

- Favorite [stroller]: Chicco Keyfit Caddy Frame Stroller (or something similar based on your carseat)
- Link/picture: https://www.amazon.com/Chicco-KeyFit-Caddy-Frame-Stroller/dp/B005JDOYF0/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=click+and+go+stroller&qid=1614016575&sr=8-2
- Cost (either actual dollar amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): $100.00
- What you like about it: lightweight, one-hand open and close, tons of storage space underneath, carseat clicks into in so there's no transfer to and from the carseat (so nice when your little is asleep), takes up very little trunk space
- What you don't like about it, if anything: DS outgrew this entirely too fast, only really good for us for first 6 months. He was always at the top of the growth charts, so it would probably last longer for a normal baby...
#2- Favorite [stroller]: BOB
- Link/picture:
- Cost (either actual dollar amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): $400-600
- What you like about it: super durable. Bit of an FFC here - when DS was less than a year old DH forgot to engage the brake while getting ready to put him in the car. The BOB ended up rolling off a pretty large curb before either of us could catch it. DS was strapped in properly and didn't even notice that he went of the curb. For that I will always love the BOB and I will ALWAYS strap my littles into their strollers properly.
- What you don't like about it, if anything: bulky, heavy, the sun shade has never fully extended like it's supposed to
Since the BOB is cumbersome, we will be getting another mid-range stroller for quick/easy trips. I always seem to dislike something about those strollers though.Above is the Uppababy Minu and I love this one as well. Much more lightweight and I generally used it for short errands.
*edited because I am horrible with photos
@kitandcat I need to talk to DH to see what his thoughts are because I am wondering the same. Do we go with the travel system when baby will be born in October and we probably wouldn't use it until April/May here in OH. DS is and was so long that we had to move him from his newborn carseat at 9 months so I wonder if the Chicco travel system that goes with that carseat would make sense.
But I am looking at this one Cortina Together Double Baby Stroller - Minerale (chiccousa.com)
We also have a bike trailer/jogger double stroller that we use more than the chicco stroller. But a new baby probably couldn't go into that until 10 months or so.
I honestly preferred to babywear than use the stroller. Especially for walks around the neighborhood. Easier to walk dog.
We got the Britax B-Safe 35 travel system mainly because of safely reviews and longevity of being able to use it as our son became heavier. The big downside with getting one of these systems is you will have to replace the car seat again before you know it. The new carseat we got my son could of handled him when he was a baby. That being said, I still prefer being able to carry the infant carseat to doctors appointments or to daycare. Overall I really liked the product, it does take up space in the backseat but folds down pretty well. Also is very sturdy for walking on rocks which we do a bit here in AZ.
We will likely continue to use this for the baby but now just need to decide on whether we get a double stroller.
Pre-covid we used ours every weekend and would likely use it again with #2 (2.5 currently) and #3 if things are more normal in 2022 (oh please let things be normal!).

TTC#2 | June '20-February '21 | DS | Due October 27, 2021
it was recommended by a mom on my last BMB and I liked how compact it folds up and the various comfort features for the kiddos. It seemed like the perfect lightweight double for walks and outings like the zoo, aquarium, mall etc (if we ever can go to such outings again lol). You can buy an attachment to make it a triple too which I’m considering but will see how DS1 is at 3.5 when the baby is old enough to ride in this with my DS2.
We wanted one that would work on trails for a trip we took and we love this one! Much cheaper than a BOB and ive never had a BOB to compare to but this one pushes really well and I love that you can use it with an infant seat or without and also we loved that DS could face us in the regular seat!!
