Product Spotlight - Maternity Clothes 3/22

Ok I’m bored so I’m bringing product spotlight back!
This is a place for FTMs to ask questions and S+TMs to share the wealth of knowledge they've accumulated on baby products. Each week we'll spotlight a new category of product to help streamline and make it easier to refer back. This week it's....Maternity Clothes! Since some of us are either already wearing a few pieces or will be soon it seems like I good time.

    I’ve got a lot of leftovers from DD that still fit and are staples from A Pea in the Pod and Destination Maternity.
    The new stuff I got for the near future are all from the following places:

    • Cost (either actual dollar amount, or just $, $$, $$$, etc.): Motherhood and Stitch Fix have a massive range in price, Shein is cheap but hot and miss.
    • Additional thoughts on [maternity clothes]: 3rd trimester maternity is v different then 2nd trimester maternity. Once I hit 30 weeks, none of my 2nd tri stuff fit well anymore. All too small/short.

    I got a few things from Kohls and Old Navy. But most of what I got was from Ebay. Poking around at second hand websites like Mercari and Thred Up this time around.

    The nice thing about these sites as they'll usually put stuff in bundles, with DS I think I got 6 plain tshirts for $40 including shipping.

    Last year when I was pregnant with DS2 I got some maternity clothes from Old Navy and some from Amazon. I really liked the shorts and tank tops I got from old navy and lived mostly in those and flowy dresses for the summer.  Also had a bunch of maternity clothes handed down from two of my cousins which was awesome and had borrowed some from my SIL. This year I can’t borrow from SIL bc she’s pregnant too haha so I bought a few more items from Motherhood- they have a great sale going right now so if you’re looking check it out! I’m excited about my purchases! I got 2 dresses, a romper, 4 tanks, 4 pairs of shorts and 2 comfy capris for $190 which I think is pretty reasonable! 

    Oh and if you think you will be pumping at all- I really appreciated having some nursing shirts- the kind with the flap under your boobs bc then I could just flip that up and stick the pump in my pumping bra and not have to totally undress to pump. 

    And my mom bought me a maternity robe from Caden Lane and although they aren’t cheap it was the comfiest thing ever and I wore it a ton the first month- I might splurge on a second this time around for when the other is being washed 🤣
