I’m definitely taking 18 months, I have two other children plus finding childcare in my small town is pretty much impossible. I’ve been on a wait list since finding out.
I’m really considering taking mat leave 6 or 7 weeks early. My babies come early, 35 weeks and 37 weeks. I’m also a nurse and work is so insane right now, where we are getting stuck for 16 hour shifts on a very regular basis and I don’t think my body will handle it. Plus I want to enjoy the last little bit of summer with my kiddos before school starts.
I need to let work know my general plan here right away so they can plan for staffing and I’m just so torn.
Wow 12-18 MONTH maternity leave is AMAZING. I will hopefully get 10 weeks but since covid and getting set up to work from home I assume they'll expect me to start picking up some work around 2-3 weeks. My role is vital so I get it but that first month is BRUTAL. I promised myself I was going to start leave two weeks prior to my due date this time around (due 10/15) we'll see if that happens! I worked until my due date last time lol. I say, however long they allow, TAKE IT, enjoy it and suck up every exhausting minute ☺️
