I'm tired. I'm busy for 8 more weeks and then it's summer and I'm so excited. Every day I just look at the calendar at all the stuff that's happening in the next two months and I go over each thing and then I get to mid-May and yay summer!!!!
My step brother is getting married this weekend. A very small ceremony with about 20 people and all our immediate family. It was so hard to find something to wear. All my usual wedding guest dresses are either too revealing with these pregnancy boobs or just made me feel fat and not pregnant and I'm not pregnant enough for any of my maternity dresses. I ended up finding a cute dress at target and the wedding is pretty casual so that is good but the peasant dress style right now is not flattering when you're feeling bloated and fat.

@Aerialmrs I had anticipated this being the last month we would do school, hoping the snow would be melting and the days would be getting warmer. Well, it keeps snowing and it’s only warmed up to the upper 20’s. 😑 So I’m extending our school until breakup and then moving is into our summer schedule. I’m ready for less busy days and more outdoor play in the sun.
We spent the weekend at my parents vacation home in upstate NY and we brought along 2 other couples which was major for us!!! (One of whom also has a 5 month old baby). We all got negative covid tests before the little road trip (and half are already vaccinated) - so we felt safe and honestly seeing some people we haven’t seen in so long (and actually socializing) was SOOOO needed. Honestly more than I think I even realized. It was absolutely amazing. Back to reality now.... but as more get vaccinated and as numbers level out slowly in my area, I came home feeling very excited for this summer knowing that I’ll feel a bit of normalcy.
Took a week off work this week and it’s already glorious! This is the staycation I needed! (Boss texted asking if I could come in yesterday and I said no )
Got our NIPT results back and all is low risk and normal. Took the sex in an envelope to a bakery and they said they could make us a gender reveal cake by this evening so we'll be finding out the sex with DS later today!

Hey ladies! I’ve been kinda mia the past month. Things have just been blah. My anxiety was acting up, throwing up a lot and just not feeling the greatest all around. But I’m feeling tons better now and plan on being more active again! Can’t wait to catch up 😁
@ladylynn222 I came to post a similar update! Work has been hellish this last week. My laptop decided to give up the ghost so I had to make arrangements to drive downtown to the office to get a new machine, and in doing that I lost access to programs because the cloud based licenses were linked to the old one! And lucky me, I had a project due Friday and it took them until then to get my license sorted out. But actual lucky me, they decided to push the due date to this coming Friday because they gave us last minute changes and there were some outstanding issues they had to come up with decisions for. I'm trying to get caught up on some of these posts, but they all go so fast! Sorry if it seems like I just drop in, say my bit and don't respond to others.
I just got these maternity jeans in from Gap and they are amazing! I loathe most all maternity jeans because they just don't stay up. I feel like I am just wearing a stretch bag around my mid-section and I am constantly pulling at the waist. These feel like real jeans! So comfy but supportive. I got them last week when they were doing friends and family so they were 50% off. I would definitely watch for a sale.
@krash_ that’s wild! I scheduled the boys dentist appointments the other day for September 20 and then realized that wasn’t going to work 🤦♀️ Only 6 months until babies!?
@sawasap My cat has been all over me for week now. He sleeps with me all night and follows me all day from room to room. He likes you to think he isn’t social but he is extremely social. You just can’t touch him or he will bite. There are specific ways he likes to be pet and if you don’t pet him that way he starts biting. He also bites when he is hungry, playful, bored, mad, or irritated. He bites a lot. 😆
Last pregnancy he spent a lot of time stalking me and attacking me. He pinned me in when I was stuck on the ground at one point and I thought I wasn’t going to get him off of me. It was kinda scary. Luckily he is declawed or I would have been really clawed to pieces. It is crazy how different he is behaving towards me this pregnancy. He is very loving and affectionate and he only stalks me and bites me when he is in a playful mood or his bowl of food is empty.
@emeraldcity1214 Cats are so interesting! Mine has never shown me aggression or anything like that, but whenever I'm pregnant he is glued to me. He follows me around alot more and sleeps right up by my head every night. If I'm sitting on the couch without kids around, he'll either sit beside me or behind my head. I mean, I'm his favourite human in the house so he's a bit like that non pregnant, but it's definitely intensified when pregnant.
@canadiangamermom I rescued this cat from a shelter when it was a tiny tiny kitten. He was the most loving and affectionate kitten. Then he hit puberty. He was fixed early on too so I still don’t know why he went crazy when he hit puberty but he did. His biting has gotten better as he has gotten older. Although, I had to take him to the vet a few months back and he bit a tech and ended up on quarantine by animal control. 🙄 his shots weren’t up to date because of COVID. Then I sedated him and took him back to the same vet to get his rabies shot and they were so scared of him they wouldn’t even try to give the shot. Before the lady even took him back she said she was going to check his teeth as part of his vitals. 😳 I said absolutely not! You aren’t allowed to put you hands anywhere near his mouth. They make you sit in the car so I wasn’t with him. She couldn’t get him back in his carrier so she had me come in. He was such a sweetheart when I picked him up. He melted into me. I told her to give him the shot while I was holding him. 🙄 They acted like he was some really aggressive cat but from what I saw he was just really scared. It never would have happened if I had been allowed to be with him. He has never bit a tech before and he has been to the vet many times.
My in-between clothes are all dirty so had to don real maternity clothes today. I forgot how much more pregnant maternity clothes make you look! I’ve been hiding it till now and now I feel on display, it’s getting in my head!
@emeraldcity1214 That is so sad!! They become totally different cats when they're stressed. I'm glad you were able to get him sorted, but oh man. That just makes me so sad for you both.
My cat is behind on all of his shots. He gets insanely stressed out when in a vehicle, let alone at the vet's and since he's an indoor cat who is too scared to escape, I haven't been too worried about it. He's also an older cat and I'm worried about what that kind of stress would do to him. I get really upset at even just the thought of him being unwell in any way and passing.
Anyone else still not telling anyone about the pregnancy? I’ll be 17w next week and the only people we’ve told are our moms. And kind of our kids. Our siblings don’t know, our jobs don’t know, our friends and neighbors don’t know. And frankly I don’t feel like announcing anything but I know I have to rip that bandaid off at some point. I know I need to tell work soon do they can plan for my absence, H doesn’t want to even bring it up till after 20 which is fine by me. Just curious if we’re the only people who have no inclination to mention it?
@agea We’ve told some people but not in any coordinated way. I don’t feel like announcing this time. It’s nice keeping it kinda quiet. We haven’t told most of our family yet either.
So we’re building our house, and they told us originally our settlement would likely be late June. They updated me Thursday that it would be early June! Our realtor wants us to list our house after Easter! Which is fine except I thought we had 5 weeks to prepare not less than two with a holiday and DS2’s 3rd bday and a vet appt and a dr appt all mixed in there 😬 Also MH’s job is weather related so he’s been away since Thursday 🤦♀️
@whatabout2ndbreakfast That's amazing about it being moved up but holy coo that sounds like alot in such a short amount of time! I've got all of my things crossed for you that everything goes smoothly!
@agea We usually announce around end of 1st trimester and was planning on doing so this time as well until we found out it's a high risk pregnancy. We see way less people right now so we just tell people we see regularly or people who need to know (ex DH's coworkers in case he needs to leave if I end up in the hospital again). Everyone feels differently about announcing, I still love doing it but others might like having that secret to themselves/don't want to hear any "more kids?" comments. My one concern about waiting to announce was that someone might see me and then spill the beans before we can announce to others.
Unrelated. I wasn't there, but wish I had been: Pharmacist, handing DH progesterone medication: "You know how to use this right? You insert it VAGINALLY every night." Everyone else in line: stares at DH DH: "It's for my wife! It's not for me!"
I usually have minimal issues falling back asleep after getting up to pee at night, but tonight dh’s snoring is next level. I’ve been laying here for about two hours, every time he quiets down and I start to fall back asleep he rotates and starts all over again. It’s like he can sense I’m almost asleep.
He’s getting surgery on his nose in 12 days, and I absolutely cannot wait. He may be miserable for a week or two after but if this keeps up I’ll be miserable for months to come. He just quieted back down, here’s hoping Mr Sandman finds me before he starts back up again
@agea I announced on facebook earlier than I planned to because my MIL posted it on Facebook. I was far enough along that instead of battling it out with her over etiquette I just made my own post. I thought the news would spread faster but there are still quite a few people at work who don't know. Last time around I feel like I posted it and everyone knew within 2 days.
The only issue I have with people knowing at this point is the weird coddling thing people do while you are pregnant. People telling you to "sit down, and relax", "are you sure you should be doing that?", "You shouldn't do that". I often find myself saying "I am pregnant, not dying.". I believe I have a better understanding of what I am capable of doing while pregnant than some other person.
@whatabout2ndbreakfast oh wow, that's exciting and stressful. Can you call in reinforcements to help you get the house ready?
@grizzlymama86 my husband is a terrible snorer too. I usually end up kicking him in the shins till he changes positions. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Glad at least yours is having something done about it!
@deziraywatt I hate that too. My mom and grandma are the worst at coddling me. Yesterday, I helped my sister by taking her dog to the vet (she's in Mexico). It ended up being kind of a drawn out ordeal because I was coordinating between my sister, her ex-husband and the vet, but I was chided at the end of the day for "doing too much" and I shouldn't be "stressing myself out." I mean, seriously?! The vet? I also offered to help my dad paint his new fence, and was told I should leave that job to someone else
Btw, I finally got a status update from Myriad on my NIPT results. It's now out of processing and waiting for "clinical review" but the new ETA is April 7th! That's three full weeks from the blood draw. 💀⚰️🥀
@agea I'm only 13 weeks but we haven't told EVERYONE yet. Only my boss and department chair at work know..I felt obligated to tell them ASAP since peak hiring season is in March for my job and I wanted to make sure they would have a chance at finding an excellent replacement since I'm not returning. We've told our families but haven't told many friends and definitely haven't publicly announced anything yet. We will probably do a social media announcement around 20 weeks. I'm starting to show more every day and it's getting harder to hide at work, so I'll probably start to tell me people in the next few weeks too.
@kissyfir1586 reinforcements are lined up for this week thank goodness! Some stuff I really shouldn’t be lifting - I wish someone would cuddle me just a little 😂 that is crazy it is taking so long for your NIPT!
