(So sorry this is late! Allergies kicked my butt yesterday.)
Hi all! Now that we have the serious stuff out of the way in our Nursery Series, let's indulge in the more frivolous side: how are you going to decorate those sweet little baby rooms and what products do you want to recommend and showcase for other moms?
What are some general decor items you feel complete your room? Some that come to mind are rugs, throw pillows, blankets, curtains, wall decor (pictures, posters, decals, or paint brand/colors), and lighting choices. Are there any brands you recommend for those items? Website sources? Shopping guidelines? Things to avoid?
Or rather than having products as a starting point, what is your theme and what products did the theme lead to? How about color scheme, and what products help strategize the development of that theme or color scheme? Or, do you have an awesome array of hand-me-down products and want advice on how to put it all together or create a theme out of it? Please share!

Re: Product Spotlight 03/10: Misc. Nursery Decor
With DD2, I added some splashes of teal to the theme, changed out the curtain, added a few pictures to the collage. I also did a few more flowers with her bedsheets and changing covers.
With DS, I'm going to switch out all the pink for navy blue, so it will be a navy blue, teal, and gray room. Mostly this is just bedsheets, blankets, changing pad cover. But I'm also updating the collage. With all the kids I made a yarn wrapped letter like this, but I'm waiting until we pick a name to do DS's. Most of the wall decor I used came from Hobby Lobby and Target.
Aside from main furniture, planning to eventually get an area rug (floor is hardwood) and new curtains. Our community has a lot of bright lamps outdoors, so want to get some blackout curtains/shades at a minimum so it gets darker in there. The current curtains we have are very thin because I love natural light, but not that great if someone's going to sleep in there.
The floor is carpeted, so we're not doing an area rug, at least for now. We are going to get some blackout curtains for the window. I feel like we're going very basic, but I honestly am not the type to do much decor in general. The mural is a huge step for me. I'm way more comfortable with a solid blue accent wall and some peel and stick decals.
I can't wait to get this all set up so that I can post pics! Please, everyone, share pictures when you have them!

One thing I got that has been a game changer is a rug pad. We got a cute 5x7 rug with stars on it and my mom convinced me to get a 1/2 inch rug pad to go under it. OMG, it is so luxurious!!!! I keep walking in to the nursery in my barefeet to feel the plush carpet. I am now getting a pad for under our family room rug in anticipation of all the tummy time and time spent on the floor. Hardwood floors are not kind to old bottoms!

This baby will be sharing a room with her brother once she is sleeping through the night but even before then all of her 'stuff' will be in the nursery. We basically just need a second dresser and a crib but I'm at a loss of how I want to rearrange everything. My mom is coming to visit this weekend and I'm determined to figure it all out before she leaves.
