Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 3/23

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • Month/Cycle: 21/2 AL

    CD: 19

WAYDTGKU: NTNP this cycle (we're technically benched)

R/R: Another beautiful weather day here! I had to get out the door a little earlier this morning to drop my car off at the mechanic. I'm overdue for my inspection (whoops that expired in January) and need an oil change so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad of a bill. Looking forward to soaking up some more sunshine this afternoon, hopefully with my book.

    CS/Q: nope
  • @gingermama29 January?!? Girl what are you doing lol. Too easy to be forgetful on some of this stuff these days

    Month/Cycle: 5 AL

    CD: 1

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, GF and DF diet

R/R: I know a 14 day LP is great and all.... but dammit it sucks when you're expecting something shorter haha. *TW* Didn't think that would happen again being so far out from my MC *end TW*. Can't believe I was a day late with my temps being down since Sunday. Going to try to be more lax this cycle if possible. But I know I'm probably going to put more pressure on myself since last time was 5 cycles and of course anything longer is going to make me think September was a fluke.

Rant - while I think our temperatures are going to be nice in the coming days, I think we're supposed to have rain through Saturday. DH's favorite weather... Currently sunny ATM so the rain must start later today.

    CS/Q: 1 lonely dot today

I was doing them myself, which makes it harder to reach, and I had a feeling I might not be hitting the muscle.  Sure enough there's a study showing that women with a bmi 25+ should really have longer needles for IM injections.  :/ I feel so stupid and I wish I had just asked my nurse at the time, because I had a feeling...</div><div>

  • @gingermama29. Glad you're getting out and enjoying the nice weather!  After the whole email / phone fiasco this morning I couldn't even think straight to remember what I was supposed to be doing next lol So thank you for reminding me I have to get on the dmv website. 🤦 Hope I can get outside too, it's pretty nice here as well finally!
  • Month/Cycle  this time around 2nd month

    CD 4

WAYDTGKU  I have my OPKs finally, PreSeed, I'm waiting on Proov and trying (but I think I'm failing again) at BBT...

I just don't understand the whole charting...I had a really low dip today, and I don't know what that means...

  • @gingermama29 keep enjoying that good weather! So nice you can do it with a book. And I second what @inthewoods23 said: it’s too easy to forget to do these maintenance tasks these days cause each day is so monotone and before you know it, a couple of months have passed.

@inthewoods23 sorry to see you back on this side of the fence. 😕 But yay for a longer LP; that’s never a bad thing, however annoying it must be. I hope you _can_ take it easy this cycle. The biggest question is... to morning sex or not to morning sex? Lol.

@BusinessWife holy cannoli that’s a lot of medication juggling. But you only have a day or 2 of doxy left, right? I take Synthroid too, so I know the struggle of having to wait an hour before putting else inside my body, and also having something inside me for better vitamin absorption. I hope you can get the bigger needle this time (not something I thought I’d ever say...”

@keikilove dang, I didn’t get back here yesterday and hence the late tag: I hope your monitoring appointment went well yesterday though I’m sorry you watched that plane take off sans you. Also, we really are twins this month! I wonder if our IUIs will line up as well... 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

    Month/Cycle: 15/15

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: double hybrid IUI, lots of vits and supps for MH and I, Endometrin post IUI for LP support

R/R: just had my final ultrasound this morning and we’re good to go with IUI #1 tomorrow 8:30 AM, and #2 on Thu same time. Trigger is tonight at 8:30pm. I have 4 follicles that will release an egg and I’m really hoping that at least 1 of them has a euploid egg in it. 🤞🏻 My lining is a whomping 9.9mm!!! Will post more details in the IF thread sooooon.

Also rave: it’s so peaceful in the house without a dog. 🤣🤣🤣

CS/Q: actually inputted my temps into FF this morning so can share; temps really dipping which is an indication of high E2.

  • @deaf_girl I missed you in my tags as we were posting around the same time. The bbt charting is only useful to confirm ovulation so don’t pay attention to day to day readings. It’s when you get a high/peak OPK that you’ll want to watch for a sudden temp jump to confirm O.

  • @gingermama29 we've got great weather too, it's so nice. Enjoy it!

@inthewoods23 sorry about CD1 and the upcoming rain.

@BusinessWife that sounds complicated with the scheduling. Is it a temporary thing or a permanent med?

@deaf_girl You can see in my chart below my temp tends to "Rocky Mountain" as FF calls it. Did you temp at a different time than usual, or was your room cooler than normal (like we've had our windows open the last couple nights and it's been cooler in there than previously). You should still see a pretty distinct shift once you ovulate, and you can also discard one-off temps that throw things off (like if you wake up at 5am when you're used to waking up at 10am, or you take a med that gives you a fluke temp, or have a terrible night of sleep tossing and turning all night, etc.)

@acleverusername fingers crossed for the IUIs!

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, cm, cinnamon supplements

R/R: the weather is SO NICE right now, we've got the windows and doors open and the house is so fresh. I love it. Now we just need to actually CLEAN the house...

CS/Q: nothing exciting, but I did finally remember before peeing to start using OPKs.

  • @BusinessWife I don't miss the days of having to juggle taking all those different supplements for IVF and transfers lol. The L-arginine was also tricky like that needing to be taken on an empty stomach. Since I had to take it 3x a day I was taking it once I woke up, sometime mid-afternoon hoping I wouldn't be hungry enough to need a snack, and then right before bed.

@deaf_girl with charting it's mostly about the pattern you get over time. A dip in temperature in the WTO period doesn't mean anything specifically. Some women do see a dip in temperature right before ovulation. Your temps will on average be lower in the WTO period of your cycle. You can see ovulation in your chart when your temp rises or spikes above your WTO temperatures and stays raised throughout your TWW period. I think you said you're using FF. If you are, they have a series of lessons all about charting. I think there's 16 or so that really helps you understand what to look out for and what kind of trends or patterns are signs of ovulation or even possibly pregnancy.

@acleverusername lmao well O is predicted to be in the middle of the week so morning sex may be unlikely. Maybe I can get DH on board. We'll see. Frankly I just like getting it out of the way so I don't have to worry about squeezing it in later and/or right before bed when I'm so tired. GL with your IUIs! That's a nice thick lining! I think I saw in my records that my lining was sometimes even 12mm or so. Juicy!  :D

@fantasyflyte we must be in the same house :D our windows aren't open today, but we got some fresh air in over the weekend and our house is also a mess and needs cleaning. I wish maid/cleaning services weren't so expensive or I'd jump on that in a heartbeat. I think my friend said she pays $100 for each visit. They come every other week so she's paying $200/month. I suppose even once a month wouldn't be bad either but our house mostly needs a really good deep cleaning being so old more than it really needs regular maintenance cleaning.

@inthewoods23 I hear you on getting it out of the way; we were supposed to DTD on Sunday night but we were both SOOOOO tired. I took a bath and actually drifted off in the bathtub (luckily our bathtub is so tiny so it's not like I could drown.)

  • @inthewoods23 sorry to see you back here again, and with the one lonely dot. :/ That's too funny you mention the l-arginine.  I still have a huge jar of it left from before. Lol but it's for egg quality if I remember correctly, right?  Not necessarily for transfer?

@deaf_girl as others have said don't worry too much about day to day temps, it's just that big temp shift you want to see to confirm ovulation after the fact.  Some ladies don't even temp during their period and start a few days before they would start ooks.

@fantasyflyte omg SAME.  If only a good stiff breeze were enough to get the noseprints off all the windows and clean all the horizontal surfaces! 🤣. I think the synthroid will be for a while now.  At least while we are working on transferring, and then if we are lucky enough to stay pregnant, it might even be throughout pregnancy, too!  Thyroids are weird.

@acleverusername ah! No, thankfully this time with natural cycle, it's just progesterone suppositories.  The only needle is a little one for trigger!  So super duper easy.  Almost too easy. Lol. GL tomorrow (and with trigger tonight!!). How exciting 😀
  • @BusinessWife you know... it was never explained to me. I was just told to take it lol. I think it helps with building lining because I was definitely taking it for my transfers.

  • @inthewoods23 hahaha I'm a chronic procrastinator. Sorry for AF. It's so hard not to put extra pressure on ourselves.

@BusinessWife glad I could help remind you about the dmv! Your theory on PIO makes a lot of sense. Hopefully that'll be the key to success this time!

@deaf_girl my temp is kinda all over the place. Like @acleverusername said, it's used to confirm ovulation. Try not to take too much stock into odd temps.

@acleverusername sending you all the good vibes for your IUI tomorrow!! 💕

@fantasyflyte my house is in desperate need of cleaning too. I hate cleaning. Ughhhh.
  • @inthewoods23 good to know!  I have myo inositol as well, but I kind of wondered about that too, if it should bother with it since it's for transfer only.... 🤔

Checking in late today, hope everyone had a good day!
@gingermama29 Hope all went smoothly at the mechanic!
@inthewoods23  FX that this 5th cycle is again the lucky number for you!🤞🏽
@businesswife Oh my goodness, I laughed hard when I saw your comment about Synthroid because I was starving this morning and skipped the med because I needed food! Definitely feel your pain on scheduling all the pills... When I have weird sleep at night (which has been often lately, waking up at 2-3 a.m.) I take the Synthroid then so I can wake up at 7 a.m. and go straight into the kitchen, no waiting. I’ve heard some people say it’s the last thing they take at night, at least an hour after dinner.
@deaf_girl The charting & temping & seeing patterns definitely takes at least a month to get used to. Hang in there! You got good advice about where to find more helpful info in FertilityFriend.
@acleverusername Woohoo, sounds like everything went great at your monitoring appointment! Good luck with the trigger shot tonight. My first IUI might line up with your second one😀 I will do a more detailed update in the IF thread soon...
@fantasyflyte Oooh, a “fresh” house sounds so lovely! That’s the best feeling. Enjoy it!

    Month/Cycle: 34/who knows...

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: Hybrid IUI this Thursday or Friday—tomorrow morning’s bloodwork will determine the exact date. Plus tons of supplements for both DH & me.

R/R: Rave: My monitoring appointment went well yesterday. My RE just kept moving Wanda around in my vagine, staring at the screen and saying “Beautiful, perfect...Beautiful, perfect.... Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.”😄 I felt like the top student getting complimented in front of the class.☺️

CS/Q: Not much happening yet. 3 dots...

  • @keikilove lol at your RE! Sounds like your ovaries and ute really impressed her! So excited with almost exact timing of our IUIs! I hope that's a good omen!
