Carrying low - suggestions

Hi mamas!

I’m 20 weeks today with my first! I’m a plus size gal pre pregnancy so my bump is definitely a bit different because I already had weight in my stomach. In addition, I’m also carrying lower for sure. As I continue to grow and go through this journey I was wondering if there are any suggestions on how to
1)alleviate any hip pain from the low belly
2)suggestions for ways I can take cute bump pics (silly I know but I’d like the have some to document the journey)

Thank you in advance for any help!

Re: Carrying low - suggestions

  • I found that wearing those pregnancy support wraps helped with hip pain. They look kind of funny but if you wear a flowy shirt over it you can’t notice. Also 1000% consider physical therapy. That was a game changer for me. This pregnancy I’ve had minimal hip pain, but I’m guess it’s because this baby is sitting a little differently? I still have time for that pain the get worse though so it’s a waiting game! Hope you get to feeling better.

  • Thank you so much! I was wondering if those wraps worked! I’ll definitely look into physical therapy, I didn’t even think about that! Great tips! 😃
  • @cait32 thank you so much! I’ll look into that too! My back has always been a problem but even more now with the extra weight!
  • I went to the PT and chiropractor during my last pregnancy. I had extremely bad hip pain. I found that the PT exercises alleviated my pain almost completely. The chiropractor helped but the benefits I got were very short lived. If I had to choose one, I would go to the PT for sure.
