**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

R/R: super frustrated today. I'd really love to go one damn day without a financial headache. Today's it's a collections notice from a doctor's bill that I paid in January, have called about twice, been told it was all set twice, and then oh look, a magical notice in the mail! And now it's been sent to collections so now I have to contact the freaking credit bureaus because it could affect my credit report and I paid the damn bill two months ago WTF. And of course it's Saturday so I can't do anything until Monday. But I'm going to the office in person Monday because I'm sick of dealing with this.

CS/Q: too early for anything interesting

GTKY: what’s your favourite desert? death by chocolate. All the best kinds of chocolate in one dish: cake and/or brownies, pudding, whipped cream, and candy.

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, PNV

R/R: So, I am glad that I trusted my instincts with my OPK weirdness and it happening too early for my cycle. I have continued testing since my original “peak” with both cheapies and my new CBAD pack. My cheapies were clearly negative and today finally look much darker and I would say positive or close to positive. My new CBAD pack also shows “peak” fertility again (negative CD12 and CD13). I understand that the CBAD might not be as accurate since I started a new pack on CD12, but the cheap strips are showing me the same thing right now.

CS/Q: So, with that long rant... anyone else experience this? A part of me wonders if my first CBAD reader was just faulty somehow (ordered from Amazon, so who knows). I will say, the little strip on the inside never looked positive to me and today it does. The other part of me is worried that something is “wrong.” My cycles have changed tremendously over the last 6 months, with more severe cramping and very heavy bleeding. I am assuming likely the first, but either way glad I found this so I can try again before the “real” O hopefully!

GTKY: what’s your favourite desert? Cheesecake! I don’t have it often, but when I do... so good!

@fantasyflyte oh that is so frustrating. I actually recently got a notice from a medical company about an unpaid bill as well, something that I paid months ago. Sooooo frustrating. I hope that everything gets worked out with that, I am so sorry you have to go through that!

@rgn12 I would think less likely than it being actually "faulty" is that honestly they just don't work for everyone.  I think it also has instructions in the packet for when to start based in when you typically ovulate, so it's possible that you just started them a bit too early.  So comparitively it may have peaked from when you started, but it may have given you a true peak if you had started a couple days later?  Idk  But this is a classic example of why some people just prefer to stick with cheapies.  *CBAD* may not perform as well with multiple surges.

Either way, keep HIO until you see a sustained temperature shift, and you should be in good shape!  Feel free to re-post your chart. ;)

    @fantasyflyte ugh that's so frustrating!

@rgn12 I know nothing about opks but I say trust the cheapies!

R/R: my massage was amazing. I can turn my head mostly without pain, and my hips haven't felt this loose in ages!

CS/Q: well, I either O'd a couple days early (I'm pretty consistently day 13) or DST is messing with my temps. Technically took today's temp only 1.5 hours later than normal. Or it was the wine last night. 🤔Hopefully it goes back down tomorrow 😬

GTKY: what’s your favourite dessert? Creme brulee. And PSA to restaurants: stop ruining it by adding cookies and other gluten to it. Just no.
  • Options
@pajamstagrams yeah, 1.5 hours + Wine is totally enough to cause a spike. 😬 Lol Hopefully things settle back down temp wise in the morning. :)

@BusinessWife According to the chart provided by CBAD I should have started testing at CD8-10 and I started at CD10. My “normal” cycle 28-30 days, but was wonky for a few cycles AL. I haven’t been temping, so I don’t have a chart. Maybe I should start doing that too?

And yes, I think you’re probably right about CBAD not being for everyone. I actually was skimming through reviews online and it sounds like not everyone had a great experience. I thought I’d give it a shot after using the strips since August! CBAD are way too expensive not to be accurate for me!

@pajamstagrams yes, I think I will use them moving forward! That’s great about the massage, so glad you’re feeling better physically!
  • Options
Ah! @rgn12 Absolutely!  I would definitely start temping, especially if you feel like things may be a bit on the wonky side.  Temps will give you so much more insight. 😉

@BusinessWife do you use FF to track? I did download it, but I haven’t used it yet. I’m hoping everything normalizes soon, I have always been super regular predictable until this loss three months ago.
  • Options
@fantasyflyte how annoying! Hopefully you can figure out the bill when you go in person! I'm having a similar experience with my PCPs office.

@rgn12 I second what @BusinessWife said... CBAD just doesn't work for everyone. I always use cheapie OPKs as backup. Oh, and also +1 for temping. If you're intimidated by it, we had a really good discussion about temping in this week's IF thread (specially that it's really not critical for you to take it at the very exact same time each day; more important is doing it before you get up / out of bed.)

@pajamstagrams wine and DST are definitely the likely culprits here! FX that O is just around the corner. LOL, lol @ your PSA for the restaurants. I 100% agree with you.

    Month/Cycle: 15/15

WAYDTGKU: another natural cycle while we conclude our testing so the drill: HIO, OPKs, BBT; vitamins/supplements for both MH and I.

R/R: Oh boy, have I been having an eventful weekend! The excitement started on Friday, when our Rover charge got SKUNKED! Argh, and it took us quite some time to realize that's what happened (she got so close to the skunk, it scratched her face!) and by the time we concluded that's what had happened, she had been all over the house spreading the lovely smell. Anyway, 2 days later, 2 baths later (using the peroxide + baking soda + dish soap formula), she smells much better but the house has a long way to go. We're currently cooking lots of aromatic food to mask the smell. Apparently it'll take weeks for it to go away!

And, well, AF arrived so currently snuggling with the dog on the couch, nursing my cramps.

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: what’s your favourite desert? Chocolate lava cake and/or creme brulee.

@acleverusername omg re: 🦨. That's the worst. It's one of my fears that a skunk is going to show up in our backyard one day, and my dog is going to blasted.

@acleverusername oh noooo! So sorry about the skunk! Yikes! If you need help getting the smell out of things, SCOE works really well. I know someone who used it for skunks, and I used it when I moved into a new house that had lots of cat urine/spraying. It works great!
  • Options
Omg that skunk sounds awful! @acleverusername

@rgn12 I do, but I no longer temp due to DHs Azoospermia.  I have temped just for "fun" during past treatment cycles, (so I could see the line turn green after all that time!) Now that I mention it... Lol 🤓 It's quite possibly that time again. Haha. But anyway, I did temp for a looooong time and I used FF to track it, after switching from paper.  I can still go back and review ALL the historical data.  It's pretty amazing.
