Weekly Randoms 3/1-3/7

Anything new and exciting happening? Has anyone scheduled an ultrasound yet?

Re: Weekly Randoms 3/1-3/7

  • Scheduled my first dr appt and ultrasound today, it’s for April 8th. I’ll be 9.5 weeks. It sucks I have to wait so long but that was the earliest they could get me in. If something happens and I need to see them sooner though, she said we could move it up.

I also scheduled an appt to get a sneak peak clinical gender test done. That’s on March 29th, so I’ll know the gender of this little babe before we even see the dr lol. They said they might even get us in for a quick ultrasound after the gender test so me might get to see baby early too, since we have to wait so long for my dr appt.

I’m so nervous! We already have a son and are praying for a little girl this time 🤞🏻💕

  • @tmk2021 I didn’t even know that was a thing! Now I’m so tempted...

I, too, would really love for this bean to be a girl ❤️🤞🏼
How many weeks along do you have to be to get that test done?
  • @sliztee you have to be at least 8 weeks and I will be 8w1d 😂

look it up- it’s called sneakpeak. They have a gender kit you can do at home but I get queasy when squeezing blood out of fingers so that was a no go. I also live with two boys so I’d be paranoid the whole time that the results are skewed if I did it myself. I’m doing clinical because it’s much more accurate and I don’t have to inflict the pain on myself lol. It’s more expensive but I think it’s worth it.

Fingers crossed for a girl for you too! 🤞🏻
  • @tmk2021 and @sliztee I'll keep fingers crossed that you both get a precious baby girl! Do you know how accurate the sneak peak tests are?

I got pregnant through IVF so my first ultrasound will be on 3/16 which will be 6w5d. I got my second beta today and it was 541 which is great since the one last Thursday was 541. I am still trying to manage the anxiety of a possible mc since I know it is possible in early pregnancy but also trying to enjoy the time now so I can get every drop of joy out of this pregnancy. I did schedule with the doc who will be my OB for my first appointment on April 7th which will be 8w6d

@KNB1027 I think the home test is 75-95% accurate and the clinical test is 99.9%.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I wish I could say the anxiety goes away with time, but in reality, it just shifts to something else. That’s part of being a mama 😉 Live in the moment and enjoy every second! I’m glad your betas are rising, that’s always a great sign. I’ll keep your little baby in my thoughts. Keep growing little one🤞🏻
  • Just scheduled my first doctor appointment and ultrasound! March 29 - I'll be 8.5 weeks. It seems like an eternity away  :/

My first ultrasound with my daughter was at 12 weeks. Anyone know if an ultrasound at 8-9 weeks is transvaginal or abdominal?
  • @magmcg0604 The wait for that first appt is the worst!!! When I had my 8w ultrasound with my son, it was transvaginal.
  • I scheduled my appointment yesterday as well.  I could get in with my second choice dr 3/23, but I'm waiting until 4/8 to meet with my first choice.  I don't have an OB/GYN after moving here so that's why I have choice 1 and choice 2.  I'll be 10w2d
  • Is anyone else still POAS every couple days just to be sure or is that just me? :) I am now at the point where the line is darker than the control line but I still plan to do it again in a day or 2. It just makes me feel better haha.

  • No appointments scheduled yet... I'm looking to switch practices. But I'm thinking I might go ahead and schedule an initial visit at my current clinic while I keep looking at other options.

@teamginger13 I just had a conversation with DH about how I don't even know why they sell pregnancy tests in single packs. Is anyone ever satisfied with just one test? I suppose there must be some, but I got a 3-pack right off the bat because I know one wouldn't cut it for me!
  • @teamginger13 I was but I ran out of tests before I even missed my period 😂 whoops

does anyone have any cute nicknames for their “bump?” Baby, bean, peanut, pickle, something else cute? We’ve just been saying “baby” right now but I’m not crazy about it lol I want to call them peanut because it’s what my dad used to call me (he passed away 10 years ago on the 19th, so I have that coming up 😕) but not sure yet

    Daisypath Anniversary tickers
    PitaPata Dog tickers

  • @teamginger13 omg yes. I have a pack of 50 cheapies I bought off Amazon, I have to limit to every few days or I drive myself crazy 😆 I usually stop once I get my blood levels and I know they are doubling normally.

@jackie_dunny My 4 yr old calls it a t-rex lol. We were trying to wait to tell him,  but I told him he had to stop jumping on my stomach this morning,  and he remembered from last time that it was because there is a baby in there.

Sorry for your loss ❤❤  I lost my dad 4 years ago,  and the anniversary is always rough. Sending you comfort

Im scheduled for an u/s on 3/15. I will be 6w5d. Do you think thats early enough to hear a HB?
  • @sonovia they will definitely be able to get the heartbeat at that point with an ultrasound ❤
  • @jackie_dunny I had  been calling mine my little pea both because it was a frozen embryo and because it is sending me to the bathroom like crazy :) My mom doesn't love it so has been calling it by whatever fruit size it is for the week - this week at 5wks it is the little apple seed   ;)

@sonovia I have my ultrasound on 3/16 and will be 6w5d and was told they should be able to see and hear the HB. I know for some it may be measuring a little behind due to late ovulation or implantation so there is room for hearing or not and it still being normal

  • My first appointment and ultrasound isn’t until end of month... SUCH a long wait.  I’m a little (ahem) older, so we want to wait to tell anyone including our 7 and 4 year old, just in case, but it is really hard to watch what we say (especially with the older one) not to let it slip.  On the positive side, with everything going on we haven’t been getting together with anyone, so it is easy to keep it a secret - with my first 2 I got questions on why I wasn’t drinking almost immediately.  So I guess there’s that!

On a random note, does anyone know how to change the avatar? I don’t necessarily have a picture in mind, I’m fine with the little system generated one - but mine for whatever reason defaulted to a man holding a baby and it is driving me crazy a little bit?!  I can only see how to change it to a picture...
  • My parents are taking Arlo (2.5 yo) for the weekend as a birthday gift and I’m so freaking excited to sleep and be lazy 🙌🏼
  • @sonovia my first ultrasound with DD was 6+3 and they saw the heartbeat then! They should definitely be able to see yours.

  • Thanks ladies for the reassurance! 🤞🏾@artsiefartsie @KNB1027 @teamginger13
  • My first appointment is tomorrow.  I am 6 weeks.   I have an early appointment because I’m high risk.
  • My random is that my deodorant is no longer working.  Antiperspirant issue.   Gross!   Need to switch.  Any recommendations are appreciated.
