    Month/Cycle: 3/1AL

    CD: 17

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, prenatals, tracking app

R/R: It is looking like it is going to be a pretty gross weekend, with lots of rain and ice. Would love some SNOW! Our power has been flickering all morning... BUT, I did have a light schedule yesterday and today so that is nice. I was able to get most of my taxes done yesterday, which considering my husband and I are both self-employed I am pretty proud about!

GTKY: Favorite Valentine’s treat? I am a sucker for any dark chocolate/raspberry combo. I don’t know if they still make them, but those dark chocolate squares with raspberry in the middle were THE BEST!

CS/Q: Question-wise, I have been testing negative on Clear Blue OPKs all week and then this morning as hubby left for work I got a solid “peak fertility.” I am so worried I missed the window now since I didn’t get any “high fertility” prior to that. I’ve been using a period tracking app for years and it says I should ovulate around Tuesday, so I’m hoping that I still have some time! I’ve never used this type of OPK before, so I am not sure what is normal!

TW: This is also my first cycle TTCAL, so I may just be on edge. 😞

    ETA: fixing typo 🙈

@rgn12 My RE recommends the Clear Blue tests as being very accurate for the LH surge (your solid smiley), he even uses them to time IUIs.  I have used them for a couple months and did find that I would get 2-3 high fertility days before peak, and it did seem to correlate with the length of my previous cycles.  Some women have a shorter estrogen surge (high fertility, flashing smiley) and some have a longer one.  My RE is only concerned with the LH surge part of the monitoring.

WAYDTGKU:  Prenatals, DHEA, CoQ10, Clomid + IUI

R/R: Rave--weekend off and I'm exhausted after working a LOT this week.  Lots to celebrate with Lunar New Year being yesterday and V-day tomorrow--and we'll take any reason to celebrate in these times!  Rant--my OPK didn't turn positive yesterday like it was supposed to for our IUI, so I went for monitoring BW today.  Waiting for the nurse to call me this afternoon to figure out what our plan is going to be in the next few days.  I suspect the Clomid didn't really work to shorten my cycle this much and I might O closer to my "normal/natural cycles" on day 19/20.  Just hoping we didn't miss it.

GTKY: I love to bake ALL the things.  Just made red velvet whoopie pies with cream cheese icing.  Last weekend it was cream cheese sugar cookies rolled in sanding sugar and topped with chocolate hearts.  It's my "baking therapy", helps me cope with my stress by giving me a project and DH is happy to help me eat the results!

@rgn12 quiltandknit gave a good description from her provider perspective. Remember too that you can ovulate 12-72 hours after the onset of an LH surge. So even if you started surging today, you still have time to HIO. Congrats on getting your taxes done!!! That’s super impressive. I’m so bad with that even though I have an accountant do them for me.

@quiltandknit Clomid doesn’t shorten the cycles for everyone, that’s true. One of our recent grads had to do 2 x 5-day doses of Clomid on her first cycle! Did they do a monitoring ultrasound as to see how big tour follicles were? Enjoy all the baking!

    Month/Cycle: 13/14

    CD: 8

WAYDTGKU: natural cycle while we do more tests ordered by TEW, so the usual: bbt, OPKs, HIO EOD, lots of vitamins and supplements for both MH and I.

R/R: we went out for dinner at an outdoor patio last night which was incredibly nice. We’ve only outdoor dined twice since the pandemic started and this was with our “bubble friend” and his girlfriend. Today we’re doing a socially distanced get together with another couple who have a puppy so I’m excited for that!

GTKY: Favorite Valentine’s treat? Don’t really have anything special we do do Vday!

CS/Q: nothing to share yet. Might start on Monday.

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, PNVs, BBT

R/R: My OB’s office called this morning and said they want me to call them Tuesday and tell them if I’ve started my period or not, and then they’ll make an appointment. This seems completely arbitrary to me, but ok? When I asked the nurse why Tuesday, she said they usually have someone call when they get to CD 90, but since I’m past that she didn’t know.

GTKY: Favorite Valentine’s treat? Chocolate covered strawberries or macarons

    CS/Q: nope

@rgn12 yay for a light schedule and getting your taxes done!

@quiltandknit woohoo! Weekend off! Do you do anything to celebrate lunar new year?

@acleverusername hope you enjoyed the outdoor dining with your friends

@mrs_tacos lol definitely seems so arbitrary. Like, can’t they just schedule you in now?

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

R/R: feeling reallyyyyy tired today and very achy. Definitely feeling the side effects of the vaccine but not at all worried about it. Totally common and from what I remember, other vaccines do this too!

GTKY: Favorite Valentine’s treat? Don’t really have one. Looking forward to our chocolate covered strawberries tomorrow though!

CS/Q: temp jumped this morning but I know it was just the vaccine and feeling warm yesterday so I’ve discarded it

@jackie_dunny those are totally common side effects of the vaccine and they mean your immune system works!  Perfect!  I am finding as I work the vaccine clinics that younger folks (20s/30s/40s) seem to have more side effects than people who are 55+.  Mmmmm choc covered strawbs are the best!  Re:  new year, my in-laws stopped by with food and red envelopes.  DH is Vietnamese, so it is a big deal for his parents.  *TW LC* The only other thing we do is dress up DD (age 2) in a traditional Vietnamese dress for the photo op! *end TW*

@acleverusername no ultrasound yet.  The nurse called with my BW and said my estrogen is high 130-something but no LH and no progesterone.  So thankfully O hasn't happened yet.  He says this means I definitely have at least 1 good follicle growing.  I wanted the ultrasound because I wanted to know if I got more than one follicle!  He wants me to do 3 more days of OPKs and then BW again on Tuesday if still no peak.  Had to go pick up another box of the OPKs because I thought I'd be done by now.  They said it was ok to switch kits in the middle.  Interestingly enough, I used the last OPK of my old box and the first OPK in my new box on the same sample this afternoon (ya know, for science!).  The one from the old box showed high and the one from the new box was negative, so idk.  Hopefully I've now "calibrated" the new OPKs.  The estrogen is triggering my migraines in a big way, so another reason I'm hoping for the peak soon!

@mrstacos damn, that's a long cycle.  Why Tuesday and not Monday?  Very strange!

    @mrs_tacos @jackie_dunny I'm jealous that you're both having choco-covered strawberries!

@mrs_tacos sounds like someone just forgot to call you; the office is probably not open/open only for emergencies b/c of President's Day on Monday? I dunno. Hopefully they can get your bloodwork done up and you can get your period triggered.

@jackie_dunny hopefully the symptoms don't get worse. I hear that some ppl get a high fever after a vaccine!

@quiltandknit E2 of 130 sounds pretty good! Mine would get to about 250-300 with 1 follicles, so it doesn't sound like you have more than 1. You've reminded that I'm also gonna run out of OPKs mid-cycle so I better place an order on Amazon now.
