Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Oct 5th, 5+6 (I can’t wait for the dating US, I want to know exactly what due date we are going with)
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: the neural tube is forming this week
Upcoming appointments: US and initial OB on Feb 18th
How are you feeling?: Bundle of nerves. Still trying to convince myself things could go well. Also occasional nausea and boobs are very sore.
Rants/Raves: I realized that we have a holiday I forgot about next week, and since I also took the day off for my apt, I have a 3 day work week next week! Just have to get through this 5 day week...
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? Mostly crafty things, I make cards and scrapbook a lot, but I dabble in other crafts as well. This likely will not change with pregnancy, but it gives me incentive to finally finish some books while I still have time!
@fitzfizz I wish I was a bit more crafty! I never even filled out my son's baby book with prompts and pre-designed pages!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: October 18, but I'm wondering how they will calculate at my OB, since my "LMP" was also a chemical. By my calculations, I'm 4w today!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Poppyseed
Upcoming appointments: I'm getting my second beta today, which I wanted anyway, but the nurse who answers the phone is an idiot and told me that my hcg of 62 wasn't high enough to confirm pregnancy. Huh?
How are you feeling?: Normal, maybe a bit tired and bloated, but that's also normal for me! Since we haven't told anyone, still feels surreal. Like I'm thinking oh I have to make it to at least 6w this time - not about any actual BABY.
Rants/Raves: My husband made me a full pot of decaf coffee before he left this morning. Very sweet of him, but now I have no functional coffee!!
Questions: Can't think of any
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? I love being a beach bum, and I bought a kayak in the fall that I wanted to take out this summer. I wonder how late I will be able to kayak? I have two trips planned for May 9 and June 12, so hopefully at least then I will be able to get out.... I'm debating beach only trips for end of June and end of August. Is 34 weeks too late to want to truck to the beach though?
At least an October due date is better for the summer plans than my previous September one!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: my EDD is 10/15 so I’m 4+3 today
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: poppyseeds over here
Upcoming appointments: I have a PCP physical tomorrow so I’m going to have them test my blood levels just for additional confirmation because my initial OB appt isn’t until 3/4 and they don’t do an US until around 10-12 weeks which I’m bummed about.
How are you feeling?: I was feeling okay last week but over the weekend and this morning I’ve had a consistent nausea feeling that doesn’t want to go away but also feeling starving and very thirsty.
Rants/Raves: pretty psyched to have a fall baby, but not so psyched on being pregnant in the summer months
Questions: I have a call out to my OB currently but I’m supposed to get a dental implant Thursday and I am not sure if this is allowed during pregnancy. Anyone have tooth procedures during pregnancy?
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? I currently have a crafting side business that’s fairly new but in that I do a lot of woodworking. I don’t think I’ll have to stop but I did purchase a heavy duty mask to wear.
@fitzfizz also a crafter over here. I used to scrapbook a ton before having kids and since having my DS I haven’t done any. I should look into getting back into it
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Oct 9th. 5+2! I’ll have a RCS so my guess now is I’ll deliver on Mon Oct 4th.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an apple seed!
Upcoming appointments: March 4th.
How are you feeling?: The nausea has begun. The last several days I’ve thrown up and it’s increased each day. It’s 9:30am here and I’ve thrown up 4 times already. Yesterday I felt fine all evening so hopefully that’s the case today. My sickness was bad with my first, really bad with my second, and they say each time is worse so here we go.
Rants: We never leave dishes overnight but we did last night because I was exhausted and because DH stayed up watching the game. This morning I tried cleaning the air fryer and got one part done and then the second part smelled like chicken and I threw up and the thought of it is revolting. I asked DH to clean it and he has yet to do it. So I haven’t done any of the other dishes or put away the load in the dishwasher because I can’t get near the sink without feeling nauseated. I’m not bothered much by a messy kitchen and DH is usually the cleanest, most productive person ever... but for whatever reason I’m bothered today and he’s lazy today. 🤣🤣
Rave: I’ve never drank decaf coffee in my life but I got some Dunkin Medium Roast Decaf kcups because I crave coffee so badly mid morning and afternoon (I have just one cup of regular coffee around 5:30am). It is SO DELICIOUS 😍
Questions:
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant?
I love crafts! I do tons of DIY decor for my kids birthdays and holidays and other fun celebrations. I have less energy for it right now for sure. I need to help my kids finish making valentines for their grandparents and I just don’t want to 😭 but one grandparent is across the country and I really need to get it in the mail. I’m also making a invite/announcement thing for a zoom get together for my daughters birthday. Usually I love hand lettering and doodling and creating things on my iPad but again, I just don’t feel like doing it.
Otherwise, I love HIIT workouts and strength training. I know mostly it’s advised I can continue doing similar workouts that I’d been routinely doing pre-pregnancy, but after two miscarriages last year I’m just too scared. So I’ve started the prenatal barre program on BeachBody which doesn’t have a lot of variety, it’s like the same thing over and over which is a bummer. I used to love group barre and yoga and strength classes at the gym (and what felt to my kids like an exciting playdate at the gym daycare!) but I haven’t been in a year now.
I’m a SAHM and pre-covid spent A LOT of time doing activities out with my kids... story times and library events and little kids classes and local play dates and holiday events and kid yoga and basically everything offered locally, we participated in. We haven’t done any of that for almost a year now and our hobbies are endlessly entertaining ourselves in our house HAHA. I am burnt out and over it all and so exhausted.
@bcliffee1 I currently have braces and once they’re off am going to get a couple implants. I’ve assumed that now I’ll have to wait on the implants until after the baby is born but haven’t actually looked into it. My braces probably won’t come off until the late summer so I won’t have too much time I’ll have to wait. I have a tooth I’ll have to get pulled soon and asked about pain management since I can’t really take much but my orthodontist wasn’t worried since it’s a baby tooth without much of a root anyway. Fingers crossed it doesn’t hurt 🤣 Also - same about being pregnant in the summer! My kids were born in March and May so I’ve never had to be super pregnant in the crazy hot weather (here it gets like 110 at the hottest but average is like 90-95 on the hottest days) and I am not looking forward to it !!
@kitandcat no way I just had a baby tooth removed haha also had like zero root. The extraction is healed so I was going into next step of getting the implant.
My DS is a May baby and I thoroughly enjoyed a winter pregnancy because I am always hot AF. My friend has a nice pool so I think I’ll be living there this summer 😅
I hope you nausea gets better. I am thinking about investing in decaf as well because I love coffee and I’ve been sticking to one cup a day
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: dot snail, which is actually kinda cute as far as snails go
Upcoming appointments: March 1st! They try for between 8 and 10 weeks, but it's always been closer to 10 weeks for me. Must be slow right now becuase I managed to get an appointment when I'm 8+1. Super excited to get an early look.
How are you feeling?: TIRED. A little nauseous, but I bought all the ginger stuff at Trader Joe's yesterday and the ginger chew seem to help me.
Rants/Raves: I decided to wear a pair of flats to work that I haven't worn in at least a year. I didn't realize the sole was coming off one of the shoes, so now I'm relying on scotch tape to hold my shoe together. It is guaranteed that my shoe will only have half of a sole by the end of the day...
Questions: none.
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? I used to knit. I have the tendency to get 1/3 of the way through a project before I get distracted. Hmmm, I think I want to start knittng again.
Upcoming appointments: I still haven't called the OB yet... I missed my last appointment (yearly in Jan 20) with them and I am unsure I'm allowed back.
How are you feeling?: occasional nausea
Rants/Raves: still just teetering between excitement and nervousness for all the usual pregnancy reasons
Questions:
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? We have a snowmobile that we take out occasionally, but I think this pregnancy is timed pretty well that I should be able to still ride. Otherwise it is just spending time with my kids, playing outside, entertaining them inside.
I just heard from my Dr regarding my labs. Hcg and progesterone levels indicate I’m probably around 4 weeks. Which is good to know because I honestly had no idea! She’s drawing another hcg tomorrow and then will have an appt on the 22nd. I’m super nervous. Sorry for not using the right format! I haven’t been on the bump for awhile!
Edited because I forgot to include EDD Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: EDD: 10/15/2021
Upcoming appointments:
I Had 3 serial betas from January 30th through Feb 5th and they are at least tripling every 3 days. Next beta on Friday Feb 12th and US on Feb. 17th.
How are you feeling?:
Anxious. I was in the ER 9DPO with bleeding that was clearly not “just implantation bleeding” and found out I am pregnant. Also battling a severe dental infection that was really half the reason I went to the ER. I’ve had an I&D and two root canals (2ER visits and 4 dentist/endodontist visits in 10 days). I’m at the point where the swelling has gone from half a large avocado stuck to my face to smuggling a lime but if it worsens at all I need emergency IV antibiotics. Being on so much medication for all this is making me so anxious because of my PGAL status (Sept 2020).
Rants/raves:
OB offices (including mine) throughout my California city haven’t allowed anyone but the mother at visits for 10+ months and it’s not changing anytime soon. I feel like my SO wants me to “make it an issue” at the office but I understand it and also get that acceptance is the only answer in this situation.
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant?
I don’t have many but need to find something to cope with my all that has gone on and what is to come.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10/6; 6 weeks tomorrow
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Today they weigh as much as a grain of rice! / sweet pea
Upcoming appointments: Went yesterday for a pap and blood work; next appointment in 2 weeks for sonogram and first official OB appointment.
How are you feeling?: Exhausted and nauseas. I think this is much worse than my first pregnancy, but maybe I just don't remember?
Rants/Raves: I was supposed to have a 2-day trial this week but settled it and decided to take a day off tomorrow instead. So excited to sleep all day!!
Questions: Nada.
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? Sewing, puzzling, reading, TV-ing. Nothing has to change. I like outdoor things too I guess, also things that don't have to change. What kind of hobbies would need to be changed during PG? Drinking? Extreme sports? I feel like my hobbies have been impacted from COVID but not pregnancy.
@bcliffee1 that is such a crazy coincidence!! My mouth is totally crazy. I am missing like 13 adult teeth, where I had baby teeth but just no adult teeth behind them. And some of them fell out, or pulled out, and then my teeth just grew into the spaces so my jaw is like tiny compared to the average person. But I have two baby teeth still left. And right now I have braces to straighten everything and correct my bite and etc (which I’ve always needed but my parents couldn’t afford when I was a kid) and then once that’s done I’ll get the baby teeth pulled and get implants. But now I have to get the one pulled early because it’s like stuck in place and won’t allow my other teeth to move from my braces like they need to.
It’s such a mess! I’ll have had braces for two years in March, which is supposed to be when I was done, but with COVID I’ve taken several months off from going in (because the positivity rate here has jumped to 18-20% at certain times and I wasn’t going to go somewhere and take my mask off around highschoolers 🤣🤣) and also my teeth are just way harder than they predicted.
Anyway. Teeth are crazy. Idk why but it makes me happy to know another adult with baby teeth LOL!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: EDD Is October 6th/6 weeks and not sure the days
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby is the size of a pea
Upcoming appointments: March 3rd will be my first appointment, ultrasound, nurse intake and meet my new OB. My previous one with the last 2 pregnancies retired.
How are you feeling?: numb. Like this isn't real. I just walk around my house repeating "4" in my head.
Rants/Raves: I'm soooo grumpy. Like woah, beyond my normal exhausted self. I about bit my SOs head off the other day for making a distasteful joke. Maybe I'm onto something.
Questions:
GTKY: What are your hobbies? Anything that would change with your hobbies being pregnant? I sew, its been a bit harder to get projects done because I typically sew at night and I cant stay awake past my 6 year old.
