Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Thursday 2/4

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

R/R: TBH, signed on this morning pretty down. The school committee meeting last night was pretty rough.

Putting in a spoiler bc my rant is kind of long:

Our new agreement passed, we'll be back fully in person by March 8, but the comments about how ridiculous the teachers are being for no longer live-streaming their classes got to me. I get that students missing class is not great. 100%. But the reality is students have missed class due to medical issues... forever. And we've figured it out with extra help and late work. And quarantines in our district are max 5 days out with a negative test. So I feel like.. it will be OK. Plus, up until yesterday zooming was horrible for students because they can't teach themselves. Now that we won't be doing it, we're doing students a disservice. We can't win.

There's more but... probably too much for this forum.

BUT, once I started bumping I immediately started feeling better. So that's a good sign for the day. It will be a rough week and a half but at least we have our February vacation. 7 work days till we get there!

  • @fameonmain2 yes I have the same thought as you!! So remote learning is pointless, but also very important. And anyone saying that teachers are being “ridiculous” makes my blood boil. Like you guys are having a party at home with online teaching. So frustrating!

    Month/Cycle: 26/29

    CD/DPO: 25/7

    Timing: -4,-2,O

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: 10 or 11 DPO

R/R:  I was up late trying to find vaccine appointments for people and am regretting it now 🥱. We have some pharmacies with an online system and you basically just have to keep checking at the right time. My friend is so good at it so she’s been helping me and I feel bad so I wanted to land one myself but no luck 😭. It is nuts here. A ton of appointments were released on Sunday, like for hours you could make an appointment wherever you wanted, so I made one for myself (I technically am eligible for having a BMI over 30 but it’s only 31-32) and I’m feeling immense guilt now seeing how many people don’t have appointments yet. I’m considering calling and seeing if I can transfer my appointment to someone else but on the other hand I have to go to clients for the majority of days the next month or so, sitting in a conference room with my coworkers who probably won’t wear masks, and I really don’t want to get covid and possibly have a bad case because of my weight. Ugh. Why aren’t there more vaccines available??

    CS/Q:

  • @fameonmain2 I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that. Sounds like being a teacher is a lot like being the President: can’t please everyone / anyone. I know it’s easy for an outsider to say, but try and not let those comments get to you.

@bows22 you absolutely shouldn’t feel bad if you have a legitimate concern for your health in view of your having to interact with people in the coming months. Meanwhile in California, https://fox5sandiego.com/news/coronavirus/vaccine-chasers-line-up-at-clinics-to-receive-leftover-doses/. And to answer your tag from yesterday, yes I did trigger this month and also thanks for your insight re: prep for my procedure.

    Month/Cycle: 13/13

    CD/DPO: 22/8

    Timing: -4, -3, O(IUI), +1

    Typical LP length: ~14ish

    Testing: on Sunday (11DPO)

R/R: I’m off from noon until Tuesday as we’re heading up to Lake Tahoe with another couple for skiing and for relaxing in the snow. I’m very excited as this is my first trip to Tahoe since I moved to California! I’ll probably a bit absent from here until I’m back as MH and I have reserved skiing tickets for Fri and Sun and we’re likely going to go hiking on Saturday with our friends (they don’t ski). Oh and there’s a hot tub at the cabin we rented!!! Last night I was searching Google on whether or not hot-tubing in TWW was counter-indicated but arrived at the same conclusion as drinking in TWW.

  • @bows22 yeah, don't feel bad I would say. I don't know how you can handle being in a room with unmasked people. That's the one thing that keeps me sane -- just about every student I have is very good about wearing masks. In the end your question of why more vaccines aren't available is the one that's driving all of this!! It's very annoying.

@acleverusername Thanks, trying not to and just focusing on what I can control. Lake Tahoe! That's so exciting and I am so very jealous!!! Have the most amazing time, you deserve it.

btw, I just realized all three of us are about the same DPO! maybe the stars are aligning?!

Sorry to break the DPO streak, technically I don't know when O was, so I could be there with you all!

@acleverusername Lake Tahoe sounds so fun! Enjoy your trip! I've never been, but it's on my list of places I'd like to see. I've never thought about visiting in the winter!

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

CD/DPO: 24/7 based off 14 days prior to my expected period. Not temping/OPKs or anything this month.

Testing: I picked up a pack last night. I'm trying hard not to use them until at least Sunday...I should just buy stock in the company now!

R/R: Rant at myself for having zero chill! I picked up tests last night and just want to pee on them even though I know it wouldn't be supper accurate right now. Also my cycle is not consistent right now 28-32 days for the past 5 months I've been tracking, so who knows when I actually O'd. Going to buy OPKs now...I told myself that I was not going to be overanxious and just see what happens for a few months. That's going out the window already I think. I would like all information available to me.

    CS/Q:

  • @sammygirl18 That's okay, you're just a the beginning of your TTC journey, so you're allowed to POAS whenever you want. And hopefully you're not here long enough to have that enthusiasm be knocked out of you. (That's my bitter input for the month!)

  • Sorry I never got back on yesterday, so I have some responses mixed in here lol.

@fameonmain2 Ugh, girl. I feel so bad for teachers right now! I can’ not even imagine how hard this past year has been. I don’t understand how people can’t have any empathy for you. That’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m liking your approach to the situation though. You can’t change it, so try not to stress too much about it. Where are you going on vacation this month?? (from yesterday) Coding responses from a survey sounds interesting to me! I loved my coding class and do a little bit of coding here and there at my job. Nothing crazy. If I were to do a career change it would probably be into something with coding.

@bows22 Do not feel bad one bit about getting signed up for the vaccine!! If your state/county/whatever is to the point that they opened up to you, then do it! The whole system is F-ed. But every area of the country is at different stages. (from yesterday, re: career change) I think you’re right. I don’t think I would ever feel 100% satisfied in a job. Things definitely look greener on the other side.

@acleverusername Your long weekend sounds amazing!!! I’m so jealous! MH and I were supposed to go to lake Tahoe last year (it’s been on his list for a while), but of course those plans got cancelled. I can’t wait to start traveling again. Have so much fun!! (and happy belated anniversary!)

@sammygirl18 I didn’t want to get OPKs and pee on all the sticks when I first started too… but I quickly threw that out the window! Lol. I’m the same way, I want all the information I can get.

I like getting here faster from driving but when days like today happened, I absolutely hate it! Our temperatures are starting to drop like crazy right now. We are getting some arctic air coming down. Makes me just want to curl up next to the fireplace!

R/R: So I feel funny posting here, but I'm technically waiting for a couple weeks. I had my egg retrieval today, so today was ovulation day, haha. They got 15 eggs, which I'm stoked about. So yeah, now I wait to see how that all goes, and will hopefully transfer during my next cycle, so I'll be waiting for my period to start so I can get that going. I feel so relieved that that part's over with. Now I'm looking forward to a chill rest of the day on the couch. I really plan to milk this recovery day for all it's worth  :D

  • @acleverusername are you testing out the trigger? How many days past trigger will you be? Just want to make sure you are in the clear!

@sammygirl18 I have to at least do OPKs otherwise I would be like you “well I *could* be 10 DPO, better take a test jus to see” haha

@LJMoon6 your drive in sounds so scary!! I’m glad that working from home is becoming more normal to hopefully avoid days like that. Even if some people still have to go in at least there won’t be as many people on the road. Thanks for the encouragement about the vaccine! Our state is kind of a mess and there are still healthcare workers, people over 65,75, etc, and people with serious underlying conditions that are eligible but aren’t technology savvy enough to get an appointment. I’m trying to manage my guilt by helping as many people get appointments as I can.

@lis@Lisa3379 perfectly fine to post here! Chatting helps the time go by. Glad you had a great retrieval!
  • @sammygirl18 no worries! It’s so hard when you have tests at home to say no - I get it!

@LJMoon6 I wish we were going on a real vacation. Just February break unfortunately. So I’ll be home but at least I won’t have to work!! And that sounds like a horrible drive. Driving in the snow gives me such anxiety

    @Lisa3379 15! That’s awesome!
  • @LJMoon6 I hope you got to curl by the fireplace after your day was over!

@bows22 Sunday will be 11DPO; I’m pretty sure I should be safe? But no, I’m not testing out the trigger. I might wait until Monday just to be safe.

  • Month/Cycle: actually “trying” 2/2

    CD/DPO: 19/4

    Timing: -5,-3,-1, O

    Typical LP length: 11-13

Testing: not any time soon? Maybe day 10?

R/R: I’m WFH and have been since 3/13/20... however I have quarterly meetings I have to be in office for usually 2-4 days. Found out that next week I have to go in 6 days in a row. Yes that means I’m working Sunday - Friday. Not happy about it but everyone will have masks on
  • @fameonmain2 where’s vacation to?!?! I’m extremely jealous
  • @acleverusername I’ve lived in California my whole life and never been to Lake Tahoe have fun!
  • @acleverusername I haven't discussed it with my RE yet, but I'm pretty sure we'll go medicated.
