Can LH surge right before period be three days long?

In the past I've taken an OPK just before my period and received a positive result. I have now had three days of very dark positive tests (the positive line appears much darker than past positives) and my period is two days late. I know I should take a pregnancy test but I'm feeling chicken and want to wait a couple more days. Could the tests be picking up HCG or is it normal to have an LH surge this long before a period?

I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. You have gotten a positive OPK right before your period in the past? So a line that is as dark or darker than the control line? There is always a 2nd line on my OPKs, it doesn’t mean they are positive.

Also, please just take a freaking pregnancy test. Why are you chicken? It sounds like you already know it’s most likely positive and that’s a slap in the face to every person on this board who would love to be pregnant.

If you aren’t pregnant and are getting truly positive OPKs right before your period, I would recommend calling your doctor

@jackie_dunny And then somehow it gets checked by TBGs and a few regs get warnings/banned, and yet the OP gets NOTHING. And doesn't come back. And doesn't contribute. But it's all us "nasty" women causing the problems, hey?
