STM+ Check In 02/03

This might be overkill since we just did the general check-in, but I don't want to work at work so here goes.

How far along are you?
How many kids do you already have, and how old are they?
How are your other kids doing this week?
Rants/Raves:
Concerns/Questions:
GTKY: what is your go to comfort food?

Re: STM+ Check In 02/03

  • Hii

    3w+5 over here
I have one DS who will be 3 on Cinco de Mayo
DS just got over strep and we had a snow day here yesterday so he was ready to be back at daycare and mom was just as happy to get him back.
Rant: I am really bummed I wanted to get DS into soccer but his birthday is 5 days after the cutoff and I don’t think they will let him in 😩
Rave: My SO loved making me extra good eats when I was preggers last time and I am realllly looking forward to that extra spoiling this time around
Concerns: I am definitely worried about the 1-2 transition TBH. I’m worried about mentally handling toddler behavior and a newborn
Comfort Food at the moment is vanilla yogurt loaded with chia seeds, coconut flakes and granola oh and chocolate

  • How far along are you? 4+3

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they?  5yo DS

How are your other kids doing this week? good, subtly refusing bedtime - just getting out of bed after being tucked in to get water or check on us

Rants/Raves: DS's two best friends at preschool both have baby siblings so he is currently obsessed with the idea of having a baby brother. We haven't told him I'm pregnant but he asked when the baby is going to be out of my tummy. He also declared that he will name the baby either Falcon or Silas. Belly buddy's nickname is now officially Falcon.

Concerns/Questions: I'm already freaking out about how I will split my time between two kids. How do you make sure everyone's emotional needs are met?

GTKY: what is your go to comfort food? Pasta and soup. My desk at work is filled with instant noodles and sriracha but the sodium makes me so bloated now.
  • @bcliffee1 that's how I felt about DS missing TK by 6 days, but with distance learning this year it's actually been a huge blessing since he's able to do full time, in person preschool instead. Maybe this will somehow be a blessing too...

I want to get DS into basketball, but I'll feel more comfortable once the pandemic is at least a bit under control.
  • How far along are you? 4+4

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 4 1/2 yo son and 2 yo daughter (3 in March!)

How are your other kids doing this week? They’re good! I threw up this morning and my daughter heard me coughing from the other end of the house and came sprinting to me, “Momma! Momma! Are you thirsty?!” And when she saw I threw up she asked me about 1 million times “Why’d you throw up Momma? Why does your tummy hurt Momma?”. She’s so sweet. My son is back in prek this week for the first time since before Halloween. So he’s loving life. And so is my daughter who loves the walk to school and seeing all the other kids for 5 minutes :) we’re also doing a lot of Valentine’s Day stuff this week so they’re having lots of fun!

Rants/Raves: uugghhh it feels like everything is covered in pee all the time. My son has a habit of missing the toilet. And my daughter will sit so her pee shoots OUT of the toilet. And she’s having kind of a regression where she’s having more accidents than she ever has. And I just feel like I’m covered in pee and constantly cleaning the floors and carpets and toilets and everything else. it’s exhausting and gross. Literally DH will deal with one big accident every once in awhile and it’s like the worst thing that’s ever happened to him and I’m like FFS I am covered in pee everyday, calm down 😆😆

Concerns/Questions: I don’t have any idea how this new baby will ever nap in this madness. I remember when my son was 22 months when my daughter was born and he would accidentally wake her up like once a day, maybe once every 2 days. Which sucked. But I cannot imagine a world where it’s ever quiet enough for a baby to sleep in this house. They are so wild and crazy. Although I guess I’ll have one in kindergarten all day by the time the baby is here.... cue tears, OMG, kindergarten!

GTKY: what is your go to comfort food? Pasta. Potato chips. Chocolate.
  • Oh, and. Last night DS coincidentally picked the Daniel Tiger Big Brother book to read. We haven’t told him yet. But we were talking about how Daniel picked the baby’s name because he gives her the book Margaret’s Music. And I asked him what he would name a new baby. And he said “Bad Guy Baby. And he would have a pew-pew-er” (a gun 🙈). Ohhhhhh I laughed so hard. And then he laughed so hard. And we just laid on the floor laughing about a bad guy baby with a pew-pew-er.
