Product Spotlight: Keepsakes and Memorabilia

This is a place for FTMs to ask questions about, S+TMs to share their prior experience with, and everyone to share what they're eyeing in the world of maternity, baby and postpartum products. Each week we'll spotlight a new category of product to help streamline and make it easier to refer back. This week we're discussing keepsakes and memorabilia!

    Has anyone looked into those apps that will build a baby book for you?? They didn't have that when DD was a baby... I'm strongly considering it for Teddy. Has anyone done this or planning to? Any recommendations on which app is the best?

    Anybody doing newborn photos? I never did them with DS so it’s only fair I don’t do it with the second. 😂 I am going to do birth announcement cards.

    @redselig Eek that's a reminder for me haha. I don't think we're going to do traditional newborn photos since my photographer of choice is not doing them due to Covid. I'd like to try to do some outdoor photos at our house with the girls though.

    Does anyone NEED those blankets with the weeks/months for update pictures? I got like 3 for my shower. I'm keeping the peacock one because it fits well with her bedroom theme but I do have a unisex one and one that is basically just cards to sit next to baby. 

    Also, I plan on having hubby take some pics because he was a wedding photographer for years. One in particular is baby girl on my wedding dress.

    @kloe818 I have zero monthly blankets haha. I'm contemplating buying a set of the wooden discs that have each month, mostly because I think the blankets are sweet as long as baby lays still on the blanket, once they discover movement then the jig is up! I'm probably going to do what my SiL did for her monthly photos, sit the girls propped up in the glider with a card/disc.

    I have a chalkboard thing too that I'll use when she's bigger but Holy cow. I know they're all the rage on Pinterest right now but I don't need them.

    I had the milestone cards last time. When DS was a little older he just kept putting them in his mouth. This time around I got done milestone blocks.

    @redselig I had these milestone blocks with DS and I think I made it to 4 months before forgetting about it (that's when I went back to work lol).  This time, I'll probably just use a letterboard.

    I just used the belly stickers for my first. She eventually started trying to eat them and wouldn't sit still for monthly pictures. I think it just added to the fun and chaos lol. We'll stick with the same type of stickers for baby boy's milestone pictures :)

    I had letter blocks for my son z ans i will use the same ones for Leo. I did a set of photos on the glider, and a set on a blanket, i set an reoccuring event in my phone calendar so 9 dont forget. This time i also went a bit overboard  and bought an outfit in everysize wirh the intention of him wearing it every month and watching him grow... we will see how  that goes haha. 
    We are doing newborn photos as my photographer  just let me know that she will be able to and shes having clients in every 3 days to allow for sterlizing and airing out ofnthe studio. I also did them with my older son. 
    Im really big on memorabilia,  and in general im a milestone oriented person
