  • @Aerialmrs I took Thursday and Friday off last week..I was just so exhausted I needed a break!
  • @Aerialmrs props to you for traveling! You deserve a day or two off!
@chewie5990 I used to love snowboarding. I haven't been since MH and I started dating really because he doesn't ski or snowboard. Last fall we cleaned out the garage and I finally donated my board and boots after they had been collecting dust for probably 10 years.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: EDD 9/18 7+2

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a raspberry

Upcoming appointments: 2/10 for virtual intake appointment but I also need to call and schedule a f/u u/s after last weeks

How are you feeling?: so nauseous all the time. I haven't actually thrown up at all but I'm considering asking my ob for something for the nausea so I can feel normal for a day.

Rants/Raves: not much else going on. DS was a beast on Saturday, yesterday was better but not without it's moments. I took him to Costco and to get groceries by myself so MH could attend his meeting and I was utterly exhausted after that.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? at the moment, sledding. DS loves it! It's so fun to hear him at the end of the hill every time "again!"

DS: 6/1/18 (Pre-E; IUGR; seizures; NICU)
    TTC #2: 12/2019
Sept 2020: HSG possible blocked right tube
    Nov 2020: Letrozole + TI - BFN
    Dec 2020: Letrozole + TI - BFP!!! EDD 9/18

  • @krash_ I ended up calling my midwife office for something to take for the nausea before this past weekend's trip, and they suggested the Unisom/B6 combo (which I think I took sometimes with my first pregnancy). It is helping the mornings be more tolerable, but doesn't seem to last all day.

@agea The travel is for a different company than my regular job. A lot of the same people do both, but they are technically separate, so unfortunately I can't comp an extra day or two from that work. I feel you on feeling like garbage and just wanting to cry. Even with the unisom/b6 combo I feel like trash, and I don't want to have to continue to taking it. I also feel guilty for whining about it, but coming here and seeing other whine, too, totally validates my feelings.
  • @whatabout2ndbreakfast good for you for quitting. I have been in that position on a miserable job and quit without giving notice or any back up plan lol sometimes you just gotta gtfo.

@emeraldcity1214 I am also driving myself insane with milder symptoms the past few days. Its such a mind f*ck.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9+2 EDD September 4th

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: baby weighs as much as a penny

Upcoming appointments: nothing for 3 more weeks the wait is killer.

How are you feeling?: i dont feel good but I feel wayy better than usual the last few days and thats playing a lot of mind tricks and has me anxious.

Rants/Raves: I had a horrible work day today with one particular lady really getting under my skin. She just loves to tell me how to do my job better and is sooo condescending.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? I'm Canadian so I feel like its winter half the year LOL we love tobogganing with the kids, DH and I both used to snowboard but haven't in years. And we do a lot of winter hikes. But I definitely enjoy a cozy blanket and wood burning fire on a cold winter night!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: EDD 9/20, 7 weeks on the nose!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a dice!

Upcoming appointments: 3/2 at my new OB. Feels so far away!

How are you feeling?: Good overall. Particularly having headaches and neck tension.

Rants/Raves: My parents are finally on the mend!!!! As long as everything stays on the up, I think we’ll be able to see them this weekend and tell them the news. They’ve been quarantined with covid since January 15th.

Questions: Any tips for these hormonal headaches besides constantly popping Tylenol? I know it’s safe to use in pregnancy but I still feel bad 😞

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? Walking in the snow and taking pictures! Did some of that today. We have close to 3 feet here in NJ! It’s so wild.

  • @mamabearks1012 YES ME on the weird poop situation!!!!! It’s awful.
  • @runningonindie sorry about the headaches. The worst part of pregnancy is not being able to take Advil! I find a cold cloth or ice pack on my forehead helps and a bit of caffeine...small cup of coffee or can of coke will help. If all else fails I just sleep it off.
  • @runningonindie aw, such a relief that your parents are doing ok and are almost recovered!

I will just agree with everyone else who feels exhausted and/or terrible, as I feel like garbage most of the time. I actually do not remember this phase at all, except for a few distant memories here and there, from my previous 2 pregnancies. Wondering if I just blocked out the bad memories, lol. I rested a ton over the weekend... do NOT fall into the trap of lounging on the couch! You will never break free of its seductive charms!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7 weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry

Upcoming appointments: u/s on the 16th

How are you feeling?: had some energy today but in general have been trying to sleep everywhere. Even my toddler won't let me nap... I tried reading memorized books to him with my eyes closed and he refused to let me close even one eye after a while, lol.

Rants/Raves: Thought I was having a miscarriage this morning so that was a rollercoaster. Feeling relieved right now but also a bit disappointed as I can't do cardio workouts for a little while. Rave: DD who is 3.5 has been amazing this whole time. She was a super tough baby/toddler so I am in shock at how helpful and cooperative she is these days.

Questions: I definitely have some. But, pregnancy brain.

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity?

Haha well our winter weather is... cold dark skies with neverending rain (so much for Canadian snowy winters here). But on the one random snowfall we get each year, I love tobogganing.

  • @runningonindie I've been terrible about participating lately (awful nausea), but I discovered excedrin tension headache. No asprin but it has acetaminophen and only 65 mg of caffine (in a single pill). Together it works amazing.
  • @thatwouldbeenough it’s so hard to participate when you feel like shit. I go days without hearing myself up to log on and catch up. This part is hard.
  • @williams-jen hey! Breckenridge is our home away from home! We live about an hour 15 minutes away and have a family place up there.
  • @emeraldcity1214 we took our 5 year old on the big lift for the first time this year - actually for his fifth birthday! I was nervous the entire time..It was a SUPER slow ride down the mountain, but he loved it! My husband is way more relaxed about that kind of stuff too - my mind always goes to the worst case scenario, but I think that's just being a mom
  • @ladylynn222  I feel pretty blah about names... I talked about it with DH and we’re  coming up blank. I also haven’t had my first appointment yet so maybe that’s part of it
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Sept 14, 8 weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a raspberry

Upcoming appointments: February 4, confirmation and dating US, followed my second dose of COVID vaccine

How are you feeling?: Exhaustion, sore breasts, major food aversions, and nausea. I started taking B-6 and Unisom at the advice of my OB and that has helped with the nausea.

Rants/Raves: I have no energy to work out. Like none which is also so unlike me.

    Questions: nope!

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? Making all the comfort foods!

  • @runningoncookies A workplace! I actually career changed 2ish years ago after I completed all my school and clinicals to become a dietitian. I’m working mental health right now and it is just not for me. The amount of staff injuries (some serious!) is way more than I expected and some of the policies are really questionable. Sometimes I run group with 24 patients alone. It’s crazy and stressful. I switched to this job just over 6 months ago for the flexible schedule but it’s not worth it, especially not pregnant
  • @runningonindie One of my headache tricks is to take a shower in the dark. It’s super relaxing.

@emeraldcity1214 My symptoms have been really inconsistent. Every time they go away, I get nervous. And then I’ll have a day of feeling like garbage and miss when I felt so good. Glad your u/s gave you some peace of mind!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 8w6d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a raspberry

Upcoming appointments: None yet  I followed up with my RE today and was told that the referrals normally take 2-3 weeks, and then I’m not sure how long it’s going to take to actually get the appointment. My primary care physician retired last January and I’ve been on the list to be a patient of another one in my city, but haven’t gone in because of the pandemic. I called today and hopefully can get seen by him at least while I wait for the OB

How are you feeling?: Tired, gassy.

Rants/Raves: Huge shout out to naps. I’ve taken to napping on my lunch break when I wfh and it’s amazing.

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? I love skating outdoors. I’m not super comfortable going this year (on top of the pregnancy, I’m also asthmatic, so I tend to be extra cautious about COVID) and I miss it. Otherwise, I’m mostly a cozy-at-home person. I usually love baking in the winter but I still have an aversion to sweet food, so haven’t been doing much of that either.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/6 I think 9+1 today?

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a cherry

Upcoming appointments: my rescheduled intake appointment is in 2/11, then I imagine we’ll be scrambling for the nuchal translucency ultrasound right after

How are you feeling?: EXHAUSTED. I just feel like butthole 100% of the time. I keep pushing through it, but I need a nap almost every day.

Rants/Raves: love the upspring anti-nausea drops I got from target. I was struggling hard with nausea from smelling everything I’d had to eat or drink in my mask at work and they have been lifesavers.

We also got hit with the nor’easter snow this week and DH and I have been taking turns shoveling. I was absolutely miserable out there at 5am shoveling my car out for work yesterday, but fortunately I was not scheduled today so we got to take it a little more easy.

Questions: Anybody have a bassinet they love? My last two babies were reflux-y and slept their first 2-3 months in a rock-n-play which is since discontinued (and ours has seen better days for sure). Time to update for us.

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? I actually enjoy shoveling up to a point. It’s very satisfying to get that immediate gratification for your effort, and my kids play while I do it most days, and I don’t have to fit in a workout after!

  • edited February 2021
@cassafrass123 I’m in the same boat with the rock n play..... ours is in good condition but I feel bad using it for night sleep now knowing it’s been recalled. That thing was a literal lifesaver for us.

@runningoncookies we’re more central but we definitely got slammed!!!! It finally stopped.
  • We had a rock n play but DS never liked it. I am a stickler for safe sleep but I wont go into my thoughts and opinions on the rock n play but I just wanted to add that if you have one, even a used or very old one, Target is still taking them back to be recycled/disposed of and they will do it as a return and give you a gift card. They basically try to find one that is similar to the one you have for value and do the return. We had one with the auto rocking and vibration so I got like $90 back in a gift card. I don't even think it was bought at Target.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a jack

    Upcoming appointments: Ultrasound tomorrow

How are you feeling?: Queasiness comes and goes. It seems to be worse on the weekends. WHY???

Rants/Raves: The one perk of being pregnant in a pandemic is working so much form home. I go to the office twice a week. The other three days, I'm thankful for stretchy PJ pants (especially the stars above lounge pants from target) and naps during lunch.

    Questions: None

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? Staying inside cozy and warm
  • @mamabearks1012 Add me to the rock hard club! I pulled out colace and pickles last week (giant dill pickles with a large glass of water can act like a stool softener).

It was fixed this week when my husband picked up chipotle for dinner.
  • @marymh80 I swear my nausea is also worse on weekends! I think my body subconsciously knows that my husband isn’t working so I have help and therefore I can chill more. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9/11, 8w4d

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a raspberry

Upcoming appointments: first ultrasound & bloodwork tomorrow! Can’t wait!

How are you feeling?: better now that I have a prescription for nausea. I still have rough days here and there but much more manageable than before!

    Rants/Raves: none

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? I love a good warm winter day when you can do a fire and skating and playing in the snow without freezing your behind off! I’m not a big fan of super cold winter weather

  • Hi all, I haven't been active beyond the intro thread because I have been nervous about how things are going but right now things look good so I'm ready to jump in!

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 9 weeks, Sept. 8th

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Eastern tailed-blue butterfly

Upcoming appointments: I have a virtual visit with an OB nurse where she goes over all the dos and don'ts on the 9th and then my first official midwife appointment on the 11th

How are you feeling?: Still a bit nervous but better now that I've had two ultrasounds and last week's was really good.  Physically, I've felt incredibly bloated.  I feel like sometimes I eat something small and feel like I've eaten a four course meal.

    Rants/Raves: none

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? does staying inside count?  I hate being outside in the cold and snow  :D

@krash_ thanks for the info!  I used a RnP with my son even though I knew I shouldn't because I was desperate but will not be using it this time.  It's been in my basement for almost 4 years so even if I could get a tiny bit it's better than tossing it.

  • My post last week got crazy long so I'll keep my comments/responses in a separate post this time... Here's my weekly check in!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 10 weeks today!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lego person - that one was pretty cool lol

Upcoming appointments: Won't see my OB again until February 15th. Tomorrow I get the first COVID vaccine.

How are you feeling?: The nausea is dissipating a bit. The fatigue is still in full swing

GTKY: What is your favorite winter activity? Is "having an excuse to curl up under warm blankets and watch movies" count? lol.

We don't get a lot of snow here, but we usually get 1-2 days a winter. When t happens, we absolutely do ALL the snow things.
