R/R: yay I go here now!! So excited to officially be in a cycle where we’re trying! But CD1 is kicking my butt as always 😔 will probably spend most of the day in bed after house chores as it’s my last week off before starting my new job

CS/Q: anyone else get really painful thighs during their period? I usually stretch in really weird ways but was wondering if anyone had any other tips

  • Happy 💕February💕!

@jackie_dunny Glad you are finally in your cycle where you & YH are officially TTC. Exciting! Hope you’re able to stay in bed today & really enjoy these last days at home. Re: your question: Yes, I used to get very sore thighs during my period. The only thing that helped was lots of Aleve or a hot bath. I also used to get terrible cramps to the point of throwing up sometimes. Interestingly, after starting all these supplements for TTC, all of my issues have gone away. I almost never have any cramps, and no leg aching. I hope you find something that helps!

    Month/Cycle: 33/who knows?

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: FF, BBT, OPKs, checking CM & CP, PNV w/Folate, extra Vit D3, Vit.E, extra Iron, Fish Oil/DHA, PQQ, N-A-C, Calcium, Ubiquinol, DHEA, Baby Aspirin, Ovasitol, Resveratrol, daily moderate exercise for uterine blood flow, lots of sunshine, meditation, trying for 7-9 hours sleep. Prednisone, Progesterone, Estradiol, Lovenox, and Progesterone injections after ovulation.

R/R: I woke up very early naturally in the wee hours this morning, which is good because I have a 6 a.m. telehealth appointment and now I won’t be groggy for it. Hoping to squeeze in a nap later when the inevitable tiredness hits.

CS/Q: Just hanging out here till I get crosshairs.

  • @keikilove I was thinking you were up very early! Hopefully you get that nap in later. I sometimes get cramps like that as well but luckily I haven’t in some time, I think exercising more regularly has helped with that. Hot bathes make me feel really anxious when I’m on my period for some reason which is odd because outside of my period, I really love them! But hot water bottles help me sometimes as well. I’ll have DH make me one when he gets home because I don’t think I’m leaving bed today if I don’t have to 😂

@jackie_dunny Oh yes, I forgot to mention exercise. That always helps too. (Although it’s hard to force yourself to do it when your thighs hurt, isn’t it?) Hope you can enjoy your lazy day in bed despite the aches!
  • @jackie_dunny hurray for finally starting TTC!

@keikilove wtf it's 4AM for you lol. The only time I've gotten myself up that early was for a morning flight.

    Month/Cycle: 44/3 AL

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, GF and DF diet, PNV and some other supplements, might as well add daily yoga

R/R: WELL let me tell you the Sunday I had. Shoveled another 6" at least on our driveway. The end of our driveway at the corners has snow piled about as tall as I am now. Finally showered at like 4pm now that yoga, lunch, and shoveling was done. Go to make my awesome chicken soup minus the noodles for GF goodness and find there's very poor pressure coming from the faucet. So DH checked the pressure of our system (we have well water) and had his dad over to troubleshoot. We just had a company here that thinks it could be a short in the wires and not something wrong with the well pump. Hopefully not as we just had this replaced almost exactly 6 years ago. I very distinctly remember as it was a Saturday morning and we were getting ready to meet up with my parents to check out our future wedding venue. So early Feb 2015 it got replaced and now it's Feb 1 2021. SOAB. Oh but it doesn't end there. Dinner happens and his dad brings back a couple of our 5 gallon buckets filled with water so we can flush the toilets. We're sitting on the couch decompressing before bed when DH tells me he's got a sharp pain on the left side of his head that stays for like a minute then goes completely and would come back - you know, in case I need to relay information when he's dead. The pain started moving which made things a little more freaky. After a couple minutes though it was gone and he was completely fine. So yeah... I almost had no water and no husband in the span of about 6 hours.

CS/Q: temps have finally settled down so should be easy to catch O.

  • @inthewoods23 Wow, what a Sunday!! Glad YH is still alive. No, seriously, hopefully your water issue gets resolved soon. Those kinds of problems are so stressful—especially if you already dealt with this in the fairly recent past! I hope today is a lot smoother for you guys. Wouldn’t want any of that stress interrupting the upcoming O!😉

@jackie_dunny glad your new cycle started and you’re able to start again! I don’t get painful thighs but my lower back gets really bad sometimes. Taking something was really all that helped.

@keikilove wow, 4am is super early for waking up. Hopefully your telehealth appt went well and you can nap at some point later!

@inthewoods23 wow that is quite a Sunday. Sorry you dealt with all that. Also, very impressed you did yoga after shoveling. When I used to have to shovel our driveway when we lived where it snowed, I just considered that my workout. Well I hope you don’t need to replace anything and YH is ok. Is he going to get checked?

  • @keikilove haha you know, I haven't had those long cycles from stress in so long! I guess the pandemic has been a good thing?? So weird to say, but you know what I mean.

@sienna221 I used to consider it my workout too lol. The snow was so heavy yesterday I was getting an ache on the inner side of my right elbow. I have the handle in my left hand so my right arm was carrying more of the weight. DH has been fine since the incident so he's not going to get checked. I'm not sure a 1 time thing is worth worrying about.

@jackie_dunny I really don't mind it. It sucks most when it's super cold. We were just above freezing yesterday so I was actually overheating. DH runs the snow blower while I shovel the sidewalk up to our front door. Keeps me out of his way. I always like to go back behind him to pick up any extra snow that he doesn't pick up - which happens to be a decent amount.

  • @keikilove naps are life.

@inthewoods23 I'm with you, buried in snow! It always looks like so much more once the plow comes through and the driveways and sidewalks are shoveled. Soup, omg. I've been on a serious soup kick lately, making the broth from chicken carcass and veggies. Makes the house smell divine and nothing better on these chilly days! Your story made me lol, hopefully it's an easy and inexpensive fix and dh keeps stayin' alive!

R/R: It’s been a weird week. Last week we officially got our secondary infertility “diagnosis”, my friends dog attacked mine, thankfully he’s okay, and my mom almost died because her gallbladder ruptured and got super infected. Im still reeling from the emotional roller coaster. On top of that idk what is going on with my body. It feels like another cycle where I keep getting ready to O and have multiple surges, but who knows. I’ve been super crampy the last few days too. Fx this week is better.

I heard this on a podcast from a couple of ladies ttc with infertility and they called TTC a shit*y road trip, instead of a journey. Feeling those vibes. 👽

  • Water update - the wire had shorts and was smushed. They found it a foot from the well pump so they pulled up ALLLLLLL of it (over 150ft!). Did another check and there are shorts elsewhere in the wire so they're just going to replace the entire cable and change it to something thicker that will hopefully last as long as the pump lol.

What a great way to spend $1k+

  • @jackie_dunny I have never heard of painful thighs with af! That sounds awful, I’m sorry! I hope your stay here is short and sweet.

@keikilove hope you can squeeze in a nap today!

@inthewoods23 all In favor of life calming the fu*k down?! Haha I’m sorry you had a bad time with the pump. I hope it’s an easy fix, and doesn’t have to be replaced. And I’m so glad yh is okay! How scary! Is he going to be checked out?

@sienna221 lucky you! That sounds nice!

  • @inthewoods23 oh no! Sorry about the wire! That sucks! I hate having to spend good money on stuff like that!
  • @jackie_dunny welcome to your first cycle of trying!  Hope your stay here is short!  I don't get thigh pain during my period, but more in my right hip.  Don't know what that's about, but exercise and stretching seem to help!  It's enough to make me hobble like an old lady for a few steps if I've been sitting for a while.

@keikilove Oof.  6 am telehealth sounds rough!  No thank you!

@inthewoods23 Oh no!  Sorry about the wire, totally sucks. :(

@sienna221 yay for sleeping in!  I almost forgot what that feels like!

@photographerwife OMG  what a week!  I hope this one is better!  What podcasts do you listen to? I'm always looking for good ones where I can learn things!

R/R:  We are getting this big snowstorm today so I only had to work 8-11a.  Home for the afternoon so planning on some sewing and baking bread or the cinnamon buns I've been craving for the past couple days.  Normally I eat very clean during the week with limited carbs, but snow days definitely call for baking!  Cranking the heat up because it's freezing in here even though I was only out for a couple hours! And today is day 1 of Clomid, so I'm happy to get this party started and finally have some help!  And hoping it doesn't turn me into a crazy person, lol.

    CS/Q: no questions.

  • @jackie_dunny haha Stayin' Alive? Cheesy, I know.

@photographerwife So sorry to hear about your series of unfortunate events! Hopefully it's only onward and upward from here.

  • @quiltandknit good luck this cycle! The podcast that I heard that on was called angry infertiles. It’s okay. Some episodes are good, and some are kind of rambly. But I’m new to podcasts and just stumbled onto them from another one.

@photographerwife I love the "sh*ty road trip" analogy in lieu of journey. I'll use that when I'm feeling negative. Otherwise, journey is for my "glass-half-full" days. If you want another podcast, I can't recommend The Egg Whisperer enough. She does Q&A style podcasts: listeners send her questions, and she answers the live. She's a top-rated RE (highest ranked on FertilityIQ in all of the US). I've learned so much from her; have e-mailed her questions; and also join the live shows frequently where I can ask live questions in Instagram chat.

@inthewoods23 yikes about the well! Sorry that your week is starting off that week. Do you find that guys can be pretty dramatic whenever they get aches and pains?

Edited: because I hit send too quickly and forgot tags!

@keikilove holy crap, 6am? Are you in a different timezone than the provider or do they just schedule crazy early appointments?

@inthewoods23 oh wow, I hope your Monday is way less stressful than your Sunday. At least it wasn't the pump, I guess? Sorry you had to throw more money at it.

@sienna221 yay smilieys and fingers crossed for you!

@misspricklepants snowblower is super worth it if you get snow regularly. Ours is currently not starting, so DH is probably going to have to shovel this evening while I'm in class.

@photographerwife I'm sorry you've had such a stressful week. Glad your dog's okay and I hope your mom is as well. Fingers crossed for a super boring, uneventful week for you.

@quiltandknit oooh cinnamon buns. I want to bake something now.

    Month/Cycle: 4/4

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, cm, cinnamon supplements

R/R: It is major snowstorming and we're supposed to get over a foot and I don't like it, blugh. At least neither of us has to go anywhere today. Today's my long day classwise, but they're all virtual so it's not toooo bad.

    CS/Q: nothing to see yet

  • @inthewoods23 ugh so sorry! Isn’t that worst when it’s a sh*t ton of money for something that you don’t necessarily see and enjoy.
