Edd: 10/5 I think — I think I ovulated a little bit early so we’ll see.
Found out: tested early because I had an inkling. I’ve been trying not to test until a late AF but I can’t explain it and just had a feeling.
About me: I am 37 and live in Indiana. I have a 3.5 year old (girl) and about to be 2 year old (boy). I also have an almost 15 yo stepson. I work full time as a consultant with philanthropy. My husband and I got married in 2017 and I’ve always wanted three (my husband wants even more but I’ve told him that’s highly unlikely unless this is twins, ha). I had two CPs in 2020 because OF COURSE 2020 brought that. So I am very cautious about getting excited or anything yet. Taking it a day at a time—I haven’t even missed my period yet technically.
Feeling: I’m tired but that could be a number of things, ha. We’re in Hawaii for six weeks for military duty (we’ve been here a week) and I’m still working on my mental clock.

Hi! I’ve been waiting for the Oct board since last week when I got a positive. Reading some in the Sept board while waiting.
I found out last Wednesday when I tested before my scheduled hair apt. I was only 3wks so didn’t think it would show. This was our first month trying after a miscarriage Aug 2020. I couldn’t believe I was pregnant so fast. I’m nervous and scared about another miscarriage, but trying to stay positive. I was sad that I had to cancel my hair appointment, was hoping to get in one last one to cover my grays before I got pregnant. Oh well, haha We are excited!!!
About Me- I’m 36 and live in Washington state. I have a 17 yo girl and a 6 yo girl. We were done after one, then decided to have another. Done done after 2 and now here we are trying to have a third. I am def done after 3!!! ESP with my age. It’ll def be weird having my daughter graduate HS and having a newborn at the same time!
Symptoms- A little nauseous, sore breasts and they are enlarged, a bit tired, I get hungry more often and I am extremely, extremely thirsty. Is that normal? I have never been thirsty with my other pregnancies. Like I’ll just drink and drink and drink and still have a dry mouth and crave more.
Hello! I am 27 and live in Missouri. I have 3 children who will be 10, 8, and 4 this year from a previous 10 yr relationship(their dad is not involved, so I have them 100% of the time) I miscarried twins in August 2020 (unplanned) at 8 weeks & immediately got an IUD placed. I started feeling nauseous and having crazy vivid dreams a few days ago and took a test on a whim not expecting anything and BAM. come to find out my IUD fell out without me realizing it. I did have some pretty sharp pains and bleeding awhile back but I didn’t put much thought into it because it went away after a couple days. That’s when i’m guessing it came out. I still haven’t told the father. We’ve been “unofficially” together for 2 years. He has two children from a previous relationship and he is a great dad to them and was very upset when I told him about the miscarriage. We do not live together and I actually own my own home and have a roommate, so that will be a challenge. I’m not ready to tell anyone just yet, so i’m grateful to have the bump as an outlet. SUPER nervous about the transition from 3 to 4 kids... or I guess 3 to 6 if the dad and his kids move in. where the heck are they gonna fit in the car. 😂
EDD according to my LMP - 10/07/21 symptoms- nausea, sore breasts, fatigue, vivid dreams
@stephaniewagner I'm super thirsty too! I was with my others, I think, and I was terrible about getting enough water so then I'd get headaches. I got one yesterday but trying to stay on top of water today. One of my CPs was in August 2020 to. Hoping we both get our rainbows! My tests are already darker than either of my CPs but I'll still feel better when I get a ways past this. My period was due tomorrow so I'm not even at that point yet!

This is my first bfp, after 5 years of trying and a year of ivf. Estimated due date is Oct 3rd, I got a positive on a home pregnancy test 4 days after our 5th frozen embryo transfer. I have Uterus Didelphys so we could only put one embryo at a time, and I'll be considered high risk with extra scans.
I'm in Texas, 30, and married 5 years.
My first symptoms that made me test at home, instead of waiting for the scheduled blood test, was increased thirst and bathroom trips. I just got told today I could stop the progesterone so I'm curious if my fatigue was from that or from baby.
I don't have any first time mom's around me right now, only childless friends or friends with 4-5 kids. I'm really hoping to find someone to relate to!
@cait32 We are having similar experiences! Your other babies weren’t born in January were they? My two girls are January babies, so it’ll be strange to have an October baby.
What is up with the thirst!?? I made my first ob apt today and they seemed kind of weirded out since I’m over 35. They were going to run it by the doc but I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll let you know what they say.
@stephaniewagner My daughter is July 2017 and my son is February 2019, though he was due at the end of January. I was 35 for him -- I turned 35 in December and I had him two months later. I use midwives at a birthing center and they don't bat an eye at 35 -- while it's technically "AMA" it doesn't change anything. Both my pregnancies (at 33 and 35) were totally normal.

@5yearstrying Congrats on the positive! That must be soo exciting for you guys! My doc only scheduled my intake apt for the 12th. Said I could have an ultrasound 9/10 weeks in. Which I was bummed that they switched it from 8 weeks. How about you? I am hoping for another girl, but would be really happy with a boy. I just have so much girl stuff already, it would be difficult with a boy. Lol Plus we just built our home and it’s a 3 bed. If my oldest stays home for college, the 6 year old will be eventually sharing a room with the baby. Guess we will see!!
Oh I wish we had leftover baby stuff lol would make it less tempting to over shop. I already know I'm having a boy because of the genetic testing, and we've been trying so long we really are happy with either, we just asked for the best quality embryo. We are not telling anyone we know the gender, but did tell close family of the positive test. I think because I did ivf my first scan is in 2 weeks. I won't 'graduate' from the ivf clinic to an ob until I get to 9/10 weeks. Have you told anyone yet?
Hi there! I’m 32, live in Iowa, and a SAHM to a 4 1/2 year old boy and a girl who is almost 3.
TW
We started TTC in October 2019, got a BFP in May 2020 and lost the baby in June. It was devastating. Then after taking some time, we started trying again and got pregnant right away with a BFP in early October 2020, and then lost the baby on Halloween. We decided not to wait to try again and as soon as my cycle came back, we were trying again. It took just 2 months and here we are. I just took a test this morning and was so filled with joy when I saw the result. My period should be tomorrow so I’m very early, due Oct 9th. I’m balancing this rollercoaster of happiness and fear and anxiety, but trying to be positive and appreciate this moment. I am obviously still grieving my two beautiful lost babies, and worried about how difficult pregnancy after loss will be.
I have a little tenderness in my breasts, which made me sure several days ago that I was pregnant. I also feel super bloated. Otherwise, I feel pretty normal. I’ll call my doctor today for an appointment. Because of my losses, I think they will offer a 6-7 week appointment before the first official appointment to hear a heartbeat at 8 weeks.
Welcome @kitandcat —our stories sound really similar — my kids are 3.5 and 2 and I had two CPs in 2020. The pgal brain is a b*tch. I was planning on doing betas when I got a bfp but I’m in Hawaii until March for my husbands military and its complex to try to get blood work orders for Hawaii from my midwife in Indiana. So I think I might do a 7 week ultrasound here at a clinic just to either ease my mind or get over the bad news...that’s three weeks away though. For now I’m taking comfort in lines that are darkening and what I think are some very early symptoms. Welcome!

How did you find out? Got a squinter yesterday, checked it no less than 4 times expecting it to just be my eyes tricking me. Tested this morning and got a bit of a darker line. Pretty sure my husband is going to hide my test strips soon so that I don't drive both of us crazy with overtesting.
Tell us about yourself: I'll be 37 in a few days. I live in California with my husband of 11 years, our 5 yo son (the most amazing, easy, funny, sweet kid I know), and our sassy little pom-chi. We were thinking about adopting another rescue pup, but I think those plans will be put on hold for awhile. I work in accounting and DH is in sales. Up until about a year ago our favorite family activity was going to Disneyland. Now we love going on picnics.
How are you feeling? I'm a bit nauseated, but I think that is just because I'm still freaking out. 2020 was rough for me pregnancy wise, so I won't be comfortable until I get my NIPT results back.
@5yearstrying - Congrats!!! I think the fatigue is just the pregnancy, not the progeterone. When I did IVF for my surrogacy I had the same amount of fatigue as I did with my son.
@cait32 thank you! Yeah it’s a total mind f***. I just called and made my appointment. I went with 8 1/2 weeks instead of 6 because I wonder if going in at 6 when it’s normal to not find a heartbeat will just totally mess with my mind, versus just waiting and finding out for sure at 8 weeks. But the waiting, THE WAITING! Another 5 weeks of just sitting with this anxiety seems impossible. I do wonder if they’d let me get blood drawn at 6 weeks just to make sure my hcg is increasing at a normal rate. I don’t know what that costs when it’s not referred by the doc but the peace of mind may be worth it. I’m just going to keep doing yoga and barre and focusing on optimism to try and get through it. Ugh!!
@stephaniewagner my dad remarried when I was in middle school and my siblings were born when I was 13, 15 and 20. They are entirely different relationships than the one I have with my older brother who is not even 2 years older than me, but they are amazing and special relationships on their own! Now I’m 32 and they’re 19, 17 and 12. It’s been so fun to watch them grow up. So I guess from the perspective of your oldest, it’s going to be so cool for her!! It definitely was for me. Definitely takes commitment and hard work to prioritize those relationships once she moves away if she will, but worth it !!
@kitandcat Thank you for sharing! That is great to hear you still have wonderful relationships with them even with the huge age gap. I’m sure it does take a lot of work and commitment to be close to them with not really growing up together. Her and her younger sister fight all the time and she’s not really into “playing” with her, but they are close in their own way. I love having the spread out age gap as we were totally able to enjoy our first daughter focused only on her and her sports. Then we can do the same with the 6 year old... but having the baby will change things a bit for her. They were both really wanting a sibling last year and were very excited when I told them I was pregnant last August. Only to miscarry a few days later. It was devastating to have to tell my 16 year old. I wished I never said anything so soon. This time I’m waiting till at least the first ultra sound. It’s really hard tho because we are close. I had her when I was 20, so I was joking that her new sibling could be besties with her children if she ended up having kids early as well! I obviously told her she should try to wait a bit and enjoy her freedom a little more! Haha. I’m not gonna lie, I look at siblings close in age and sometimes wish I had gone that route. To our life, and no family support, it was tough with just one at the time and being so young. It’s all turning out well so far tho!
@stephaniewagner I totally get waiting to tell this time. I told my 4 and 2 year old about my first pregnancy, and they were both so excited. And then we lost the baby and they had a much harder time understanding the baby was gone. I lost the baby in June and all summer long my 2 year old asked about the baby in my belly. My next pregnancy I didn’t say anything and we planned to wait until 12 weeks, and I lost that baby too. I’m being optimistic and positive and thinking about my excitement to eventually tell them this time. It’s hard to take on the burden of all of this and hold it all in.
It must be so much more difficult with a 16 year old who you’re so close with! I’m sure you’re dying to tell her and all share in the joy together! It’ll be such a happy day when the timing is right and you’re able to share! So many happy memories ahead of us.
@kitandcat I am so, so sorry to hear about your losses. With my first two, miscarriage never even crossed my mind so it wasn’t a thought last summer either. It was a total shock when it happened. I was just being naive. Luckily my 5 year old didn’t ask about the baby in my tummy afterwards so I never explained the loss to her. I guess I’m thinking past tense. She just turned 6 last week and my 16yo turns 17 on Saturday. Don’t want to sound confusing my girls ages. Lol Ugh, it’s such a hard thing to go through and almost alone in it, because I didn’t tell anyone else but my sister that I was pregnant. So I didn’t have much support afterwards. Now being pregnant again, ALL you think about and worry about is loosing this baby and the time just ticks-ticks by when you are just trying to get farther along to know everything will be alright. Finding out at 3 weeks is torture!!! Every time I go to bathroom I panic thinking this is the time I’ll see spotting. It’s really difficult. Trying to think and stay positive for myself... AND all of you ladies going through similar experiences.
Getting my blood drawn now and every week until my ultrasound actually sounds like a great idea! I wonder if the doc would order if I call. Hmmmm
@kitandcat So I called my doc yesterday and they ordered a beta test. I just called to get my results and my HCG was 11,669. I told her I’d be 5 weeks tomorrow and the nurse said no, you’d be more like 7/8 weeks pregnant. I don’t get it!!! Can I be pregnant with twins? My last period started dec 26 and we didn’t start trying without condoms till maybe the 4th-ish of January. Now I’m all confused and she said she didn’t know if the doc would get back with me today or early next week. WTH
@stephaniewagner here's "normal" ranges by week...given that early on they double pretty fast, it seems like your 11K could still be pretty close to normal -- especially if you ovulated early. Twins is possible but I wouldn't assume that yet certainly.
3 weeks: 5 - 50 mIU/ml.
4 weeks: 5 - 426 mIU/ml.
5 weeks: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml.
6 weeks: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml.
7 - 8 weeks: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml.
9 - 12 weeks: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml.
13 - 16 weeks: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml.

EDD: October 13, 2021 based on ovulation date (I ovulate later than the 14 days). I found out at the hospital ER yesterday. I had a positive beta and of course nothing was seen by ultrasound yet, except a corpus luteum. I had a positive FRER yesterday and negative Premom hcg. This morning Premom hcg was +. TW I’m 35 and have a 5 year old daughter from a previous marriage. My partner and I have been trying since June 2020. Got pregnant in June 2020 and had a MC on Sept. 2nd. The baby showed slow growth and a slow HB/HR by ultrasound. Betas were good but the HB just wasn’t there one day and the physical MC followed. This time around I’m worried. I’ve had spotting consistently for 2 days. Also having mild cramping. The one thing I’m holding onto is that the HCG should be rising if the cheapie test was negative yesterday and positive this morning. Will call OB this morning to make an appointment and get a lab slip for serial betas. This is our second month trying since the MC and the way it’s going this time doesn’t have me thinking optimistically unfortunately. Trying to recognize what I can’t control. Congrats to all the ladies on here. It’s comforting to know a lot of women have had similar experiences. Hoping for the best.
@lyndsayem35 I am so sorry for your loss. It’s such an exhausting and difficult and sad thing to go through. And I’m sending so much love and light and positivity to you for good results. It’s brought me comfort reading stories here too. While I don’t wish these experiences on anyone, it’s been helpful to know I’m not alone. Because a miscarriage is such an isolating experience. And two in a row is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I truly will be thinking about you and hoping for the best. please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need someone to talk to! It’s so difficult to go through this “alone”, without people who’ve been through it too who can commiserate with you. I’m here if you need me!
Due date? October 3rd or 6th depending on how it is calculated (I ovulated on CD17, waiting on the dating US to call it officially)
How did you find out? I took a test I had procured from work on the day of the missed period which was positive, so of course I went out and bought several more tests which were all positive as well, then I started to believe it. I have since had betas that increased appropriately.

We have no living children, but had a 22 week loss last year (and also one at 5 weeks) so this isn’t my first rodeo. We also have one fat and snuggly cat who I am obsessed with. I was originally in the October 2020 BMB so it feels surreal to be here. I love all things crafty and baking as well, so I’m sure I will be posting about that. I have been pretty involved with TTGP for the last year, so anyone from there (or who lurked there) may already know me. Looking forward to getting to know this group!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Physically well. I had a tiny bit of nausea yesterday, and I hate the feel of waistbands already even though I haven’t gained any weight. Emotionally I’m a bit of a mess. I have a hard time believing this pregnancy can actually result in a baby, and my brain is just wondering how long this will last. I’m trying to be hopeful, but I’m struggling a bit. Due date? 10/6 I think, so pretty early still!
How did you find out? We're been NTNP but I was hopeful this month so took some tests about a week ago. All negative. My period was due to start last Thu and I had some light spotting that day, but nothing since. I was convinced it was a fluke but decided to test again anyway this morning. Pregnant! I then took like 4 tests in a row because I was still convinced it was a fluke, but they can't all be faulty right?!
Tell us about yourself (age, location, Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm turning 36 on Wednesday (@azteccash are we birthday twins?). I live in MD just outside DC (work in VA). I have been married to a great dude for a long time (14 years?), and we have a DD who just turned 2. I'm still close with a bunch of moms from her BMB. I'm a lawyer. I'm an extrovert who loves to travel which means the past year has been rough. I also like baking and spending time with family.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Really nervous given a prior MMC that this one will also be fragile and a loss. I was super anxious through my pregnancy with DD that I was going to lose her any day. Hopefully I won't feel that way this whole pregnancy, but I do feel that now. My brain is fucked up and is trying to convince me because the tests last week were negative and the spotting means that it's not a good pregnancy (whatever that means) and I'll lose it. Other than that a little nauseas right now but that might be nerves. First appointment next week which seems super quick but I think it'll just be a blood draw.

@kitandcat thank you so much for your kind words. I somehow procured an OB appt this afternoon by calling first thing this morning. Though it’s only to confirm my pregnancy to schedule the “first” appt, they are going to order bloodwork. It means a lot that you reached out and thank you for that. How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
As far as symptoms, got a little breast tenderness, creamy cm, lightheadedness, and insomnia/exhaustion. I’m realizing I’m less ready for the body-changes/takeover than I thought I was. 🤣 I miscarried my first pregnancy (before the one that brought me my kiddo), so I’m super anxious about that. I mean, that feels like an understatement. Almost couldn’t bring myself to join the board because I don’t want to have to bow out later, you know? But I’m also very excited. And also very overwhelmed by all the things and all the life changes this may bring, so I’m very happy to be part of a community going through the same.
My first appointments are a call at 6w4d and an in person apt at 10w5d. So far away. Since my last pregnancy was through the fertility clinic they had blood tests right away and a US at 7 weeks, so reassuring. I guess I’m going to just have to wait........
@amjschmidt welcome! You are in (unfortunately) good company with being PGAL among those of us who are already here (I think maybe all but one of us have had a loss). Would your doctor order an earlier ultrasound or blood work to ease your worries? I had two CPs in 2020 so my midwife was happy to order bloodwork (though I couldn’t follow through because I’m in Hawaii at the moment for my husbands military stuff). I’m doing an ultrasound at 7 weeks out here at one of those walk in ultrasound places, just so I know one way or the other.

I just had a CP on Jan 7, so I don't think it's really hit me yet that I'm starting over - it kinda just feels like I should be 9 weeks! I thought the anxiety would be immediate, but I'm strangely ok so far. My only real symptom is intermittent heartburn, which I've had since 3dpo.
I called my OB office just now, and they agreed to do one confirmation blood test. WTF? I want a repeat series. Hello, I'm not even a month post-loss! I don't want to see blood before I know where this is going!
@demimondaine — welcome! I was July 2017...I don’t know if you meant June or July. I only minimally participated because a whole group of us from TTGP all went to a private group around that same time (a bunch of spring/summer/fall 2017 babies). We migrated to Facebook and are all super close—most of us have had multiple kiddos at this point. So anyway if you were July, I was there and active but not super active!

Feeling: I’m tired but that could be a number of things, ha. We’re in Hawaii for six weeks for military duty (we’ve been here a week) and I’m still working on my mental clock.

I miscarried twins in August 2020 (unplanned) at 8 weeks & immediately got an IUD placed.
EDD according to my LMP - 10/07/21

I'm in Texas, 30, and married 5 years.
My first symptoms that made me test at home, instead of waiting for the scheduled blood test, was increased thirst and bathroom trips. I just got told today I could stop the progesterone so I'm curious if my fatigue was from that or from baby.
I don't have any first time mom's around me right now, only childless friends or friends with 4-5 kids. I'm really hoping to find someone to relate to!

@5yearstrying - Congrats!!! I think the fatigue is just the pregnancy, not the progeterone. When I did IVF for my surrogacy I had the same amount of fatigue as I did with my son.

I found out at the hospital ER yesterday. I had a positive beta and of course nothing was seen by ultrasound yet, except a corpus luteum. I had a positive FRER yesterday and negative Premom hcg. This morning Premom hcg was +.

I’m 35 and have a 5 year old daughter from a previous marriage.
Tell us about yourself (age, location, Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) 32 years old, my husband and I live in the south and I work in healthcare.
I go in for my first apt on Feb 18th at 7+5 because I need the dating US a bit early so we can get things moving with getting in to see my MFM if everything is looking OK.

I am 32 and a SAHM to 2 beautiful daughters that are 7 & 2 y/o. I am in Maryland with my hubby. I love to listen to music, love nature, meditation, cooking and reading. I love sticking YouTube mamas as well! We are PRAYING for a son! We already have 2 girls and hubby has a daughter from a previous relationship soooo yes im
Manifesting our son Jase 🥰
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I am feeling ok. Haven’t been sick except once. This pregnancy/symptoms are nothing like my last 2 soo im hoping that means BOY!!
Thanks for having me!
I just found out I go here.
—31, US, 1 child, you’d hate me if you knew my job and I’m a SMBC (single mom by choice). I have a known donor who helped create both my son and this baby. It was planned. I enjoy tricking my toddler into walking on my back while playing the Cocomelon theme on TikTok.
— First appointment Wed 2/10 because I have history of recurrent miscarriage and I’m gonna ask about progesterone. It took 5 years to conceive my first joy and just one shot to conceive this one. I feel nauseous already and my C/S scar is twitching. Emotionally I’m excited.
my almost 3 year old is completely obsessed with Cocomelon. Well, JJ. She is all JJ all the time and right before reading your intro I was looking up Cocomelon birthday decorations LOL 🤣🤣
I’m 34, and live in Michigan. My kiddo is 2 (a nov 18 baby). I don’t feel like I do much other than work and take care of my kid. Do walks with the family could as ‘things you like to do’? Oh! I love The Bachelor franchise, watch it every week with my husband (usually a few days late because of evening work meetings).
As far as symptoms, got a little breast tenderness, creamy cm, lightheadedness, and insomnia/exhaustion. I’m realizing I’m less ready for the body-changes/takeover than I thought I was. 🤣
I miscarried my first pregnancy (before the one that brought me my kiddo), so I’m super anxious about that. I mean, that feels like an understatement. Almost couldn’t bring myself to join the board because I don’t want to have to bow out later, you know? But I’m also very excited. And also very overwhelmed by all the things and all the life changes this may bring, so I’m very happy to be part of a community going through the same.
