I think I have 2 styes in my eye and they hurt. I have a bump on my lower lash line on my right eye and a bump on upper leash line on my left eye which is a bit swollen and red and really hurts to touch. It hurts to blink my eyes too and is tender to touch. ugh just what I needed lol I hope they go away soon.
Currently lying around being lazy and watching Community on Netflix. Still need to take down my Christmas decorations. Or just leave them until next year.

I finally got to go on a hike. It’s been wayyyyy to long. I ended up staying out there for 2 hours and going 5 miles. I guess I definitely had some tension to let out.
@mindyb2019 - ow! I hope you get those sorted soon! I was coming in here to whine about a cavity that I need to have filled. I’ve never had a cavity before, but when I eat something sweet I get excruciating pain in my tooth! I don’t want to go in to the dentist right now with Covid. Blahhhh.

I was changing a light switch in our pantry yesterday and got shocked. I went into Google freak out about it. I found some baby boards where people were a lot more calm about it then Dr Google. I keep checking on baby boy with a Doppler. But it freaked me out.
@disgruntled_pelican thanks. sorry about needing a cavity. I hope your toothache goes away soon or gets fixed. I would go to the dentist if its that bad. I've been to the dentist during covid and it's not that bad. There pretty safe and use alot of precautions. Hope you feel better.

@kfc1983 I have a Santa collection that it will break my daughters heart for me to take down. I was actually thinking yesterday I need to get the last of my decor down.
We've had an eventful weekend with things breaking that has MH nervous and worked up, he's now being sort of superstitious that the world is trying to tell us something! On Friday I got into my car and out of nowhere it wouldn't start. The strange thing was everything electric turned on, and not just stuff that normally turns on - the lights started flashing, the windshield wipers were going, and all the other electronics turned on. So we do a little research and it seems like its an issue with the starter or alternator since it appeared the battery still had power, both expensive. Well before we had it towed to the dealer I decided I wanted to charge up the battery and give it one more try (because of course we depleted the battery trying to start it the day before) and out of nowhere starts fine and is now running fine! Whew, crisis averted. Then last night I feel like the house is getting a little cold and was about to check the thermostat when I hear the heater start turning on, but then it never actually starts. I look at the nest app on my phone and it shows it should be heating, crap. So we had down to the heater, its flashing some status code that we search that we can't really find a clear explanation for online but what I see says either the circuit board is out or possibly its a dirty sensor but either way not something either of us can address. So we call into the 24 hour line for the company that installed the heater for us a few years ago and are waiting for a call back and suddenly the heater just starts running again, so strange! We're still having the company come out today to check it during normal business hours but at least we didn't have to pay a fortune for an after hours call and the furnace is still running now.
So not sure at this point if I should go buy a lotto ticket because our luck is up or start finding the maintenance schedules for major appliance we own and make sure we're up to date! Here's hoping the rest of the week is less eventful!
@disgruntled_pelican - Cavities suck, so sorry. I get several cavities every pregnancy. This time I have four or so all in my gum line on my molars. My dentist wants to wait until I hit 3rd tri though to fill them.
@ellieemc26 fx nothing else goes wrong! It always seems like we have appliance problems in January. Currently our oven has been broken since Jan 1 and dh said he'd take care of it... It's still not working. I had a problem similar to that with my old car except I didn't get it to start again. Had it towed, and when the mechanic looked at it, there was just a loose wire connecting the alternator to something else. He tightened it and I just paid for the tow. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if it does fx it's something easy!

I am very nervous about my 20 week anatomy scan even though I just had a good 16 week one. It’s so hard to shake these feelings that something will be wrong.

My husband also can't join for any of my appointments, but I'm going to start trying to video call him in during the sonogram portions. Worked pretty well last time, but got scolded by the tech because his awkward chit chat was distracting her.
@akoros this is what I do. For the longer us I just call him at the end. Made one tech laugh once bc he was having phone problems and kept hanging up on me every time I video called, eventually just put him on speaker.
I hate that they aren’t letting a support person in for appts or ultrasounds. I’m going to call and beg for them to let MH into the next one in February. I didn’t like going and getting news that I would be on bedrest without MH there. It would have helped for him to hear everything for himself and not second hand.
I'm going to post a longer update over in the high risk thread for those who want to read BUT overall things looked great at my early anatomy scan today! I'm so relieved.
My GD test went great! My number needed to be under 7.8 and it was 5.6 so I passed with flying colours. I am thrilled. Next one is in 10 weeks or so I think (can't recall) so I'll enjoy these 10 weeks of freedom just in case.
@angelz429, as someone who is Indo-Caribbean, watching Kamala is one of my top 5 moments of life. To watch someone like me get to such a place....well the little girl version of me could have never imagined.

Oh my gosh. Yup so many years today for all Kamala has done and the glass ceiling she is breaking and continues to break. Such a breath of fresh air for all the girls and women to know we can do more and see it being done.
I knew I wasgoing to be happy today, but I didn't anticipate just how happy. I can't stop smiling (and some tears). I don't think I really understood just how much apprehension and anxiety I've been feeling for the past four years, which is now gone. Also saw my office building during the parade and got insanely nostalgic for being in the office, for the first time I can't wait to get back there.
@akoros glad you got to see your building! In Nov '16 I was 7 months pregnant with ds2 and cried so much. I was so glad he was a boy bc I couldn't imagine having a daughter at that time, with that leadership. Watching Kamala take her oath made me think of that time and how different today was. I feel like I can breathe again!!
