R/R: our new doorbell is getting delivered today yay haha. I had the worst time on Saturday replacing the doorbell transformer. That was a 3 hour ordeal that should have been maybe an hour had I known the thing WASN'T in the attic. Oye. Went to remove the "out of order. please knock" sign DH had taped over it for the last couple years (yes it's been broken for that long) once it finally got replaced. Metal doorbells and duct tape don't mix folks.... I ripped the thing clean off the exterior. All that work for nothing Might still be a few days before we actually get it hooked up with it being dark by the time work is over. Not like we have plans to have people over any time soon anyway.

CS/Q: so far my TWW temps are a lot less erratic than last cycle. Wouldn't indicate anything anyway!

@inthewoods23 look at you “ringing” in the New Year with getting stuff done around the house! What kind of doorbell did you get? One of those high tech ones?

R/R: I’m spotting again today and according to my Oura ring, my temps have started to drop, so AF is coming. I’m kind of pleased it’s taking its time so that I can get in a longer luteal phase + it works better for cycle timing.

Yesterday I was pretty productive on peer performance evals: got all the ones that had been sent to me to date; I’m sure others are on their way. Also got my manager reviewed. Today I have to do my own eval as that’s due tomorrow.

@acleverusername haha nice pun! We're getting the Nest Hello since we've got the Google Home Minis and all that. We're a Google family I suppose you could say (no Apple [minus the iPad I was gifted] or Alexa products here). They probably know everything about us so why turn back now 🤦‍♀️😆

@inthewoods23 totally! It's so creepy how much they know and listen to us. We talk about buying such and such and then an ad magically appears on my socials feed. It's crazy, but I guess that's the price we pay for AI!

R/R: Rant: UGH! The electrical panel on our Kenmore washing machine that we reluctantly bought in 2018 went out last month. We've been using a Rent-A-Center washing machine while the part comes in... plot twist, part isn't ever coming in. Got a $990 credit for a new washer... plot twist, our 5.3 cu. ft. washer isn't sold any longer, only the 6.2. PLOT TWIST, our credit doesn't cover the full cost of the 6.2, so now we have to pay out of pocket for a washer that we don't want (pro: I can wash more per load, con: it won't match our dryer size and not 100% sure it will even fit in the designated space). Bottom line, don't purchase through Sears. We bought it because it was nice looking, had good ratings and fit our budget. Kenmore is made by the same manufacturer as the big name brands like LG, but with a smaller price tag. I say reluctantly purchased because it's Sears and they're going down the tubes. They assured us the parts would always be available and here we are.... fun times!

@misspricklepants Woah -- that's quite the story! I'm sorry you're going through all of that. The "they don't make them like they used to" expression is SO true. My parents are still using W/D they bought in 1997 even though they're on their last legs. And in our house(rented), we have a dryer that's also probably 20+ yrs old and it works GREAT!

@inthewoods23 glad you liked my pun. I read your update and thought... "there's got to be a pun in here somewhere." That was the best I could come up on short notice (pre-coffee).

@inthewoods23 Nice job with the home maintenance! Even if the doorbell ripped off the exterior, at least you did all the work yourself.

@misspricklepants Oooohh, that sounds like quite the frustrating ordeal! I’m sorry. Hopefully there is a brilliant solution to the problem. Since they promised the parts would always be available and they aren’t, and the washer doesn’t match the dryer, can they give you a credit for the dryer too? Or allow you to trade it in so you can get a washer & dryer that match?

Testing: Probably starting tomorrow. I have low hopes for this cycle and want to know right away if it’s bfn so I can quit the PIO & get the show on the road.

R/R: I got very little sleep last night—again. Feeling very tired and grumpy today. To answer your question from yesterday, @acleverusername: I am taking my meds in the morning but it’s still giving me insomnia and it’s a low dose too, so not much I can do till I get used to it. Going to get some sunshine and take a walk to try to lift my mood.

CS/Q: Same artificially high temps. Starting to wonder if my thermometer is beginning to fizzle out. Although I do feel hot every morning when I wake up thanks to the progesterone supplementation.

***lurking*** @misspricklepants we had to replace our dryer after our last move b/c the heating element went and it seemed to be a problem with the electrical board we didn't want to deal with. We went through a similar thing with the sizing (the closet we have our w/d in is a little on the small side -- oops, should have made that a bit bigger with the remodel). Anyways, we ended buying a new dryer at Home Depot and the salesperson recommended a Maytag because they have a 10-year warranty on parts. Not necessarily recommending Home Depot but a brand to consider for future purchases (though it seems like you've already bought a new washer). Appliances can be the worst!!

@fameonmain2 thank you for the recommendation! Yes, unfortunately too late and also was forced to use the credit versus getting the credit back in cash. If that had been the case we likely would have bought a totally different matching set!

@acleverusername it's so funny you say that because my mom had the same W/D for decades and swore by them! Sometimes the simple and less techy ones are the way to go for sure. The rental we have is super basic and I have loved it!

@keikilove I wish! I actually asked if we could get a credit for the dryer too and the response was that they're under no contractual obligation to give us a matching set, so frustrating!
