Re: Weekly Randoms - Week of 01/03

  • @wendy838 Oh yeah, she's 13, so I knew something like this was coming. She's been going strong until now, but unfortunately this is how it goes I guess. Everything was good last year, but the vet said to think about it in terms of her last appointment being 6-9 years ago in "cat time", so a lot can go wrong seemingly quickly. Since weight loss and reduced appetite (again, only with dry food, she's mad for wet food) are the only outward symptoms I'm hoping she'll respond well to diet and/or medication and nothing else is wrong.
  • Awe @akoros I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I hope she responds well to the wet food.

  • @akoros we do hill's prescription diet kidney, and I order through chewy. My girl will be 14 next month so I feel you 😿 I've been putting off making a check up appointment for her and this inspired me to call today so thanks for posting about it.
  • @akoros sorry about your kitty. I hope the new diet helps
  • @_orchid_ Do it! I put off an appointment during the summer because of COVID and regret it (that's when she was really due for her checkup)....though then again, maybe back then her kidneys weren't bad enough to show up on the bloodwork, it's mostly in recent months that she's lost weight
  • I had a similar situation happen with my dog. I had been putting off a teeth cleaning and finally scheduled it. They found cancer in her mouth which luckily was at an early stage so we have been treating it and keeping her here with us longer
  • @akoros are you in DC? You mentioned yesterday your Dr is in DC- you ok?
  • I'm glad you're okay @akoros! I'm nowhere near DC and I'm so shaken up
  • @akoros I'm so glad you're ok! Thank goodness for the leadership of your Mayor. I know how upset I am as an American, I can't imagine how you must feel as a local too. Stay safe ♥️
  • Good to hear your safe @akoros.  What a wild day.  What on earth are we going to tell these children about the past 12 months?!

  • @laurad75 seriously! Probably that their births were the best thing to happen in 2 years lol. My 7 year old learned the word "treason" and "betrayal" yesterday, as well as "despot" which my 4 year old turned into "bus stop" so the conversation changed.

There's a random post on our board...same post was made in the 2nd tri board...seems a bit off?

edit: it was under a different username, but same story

@wendy838 My guess is she changed it from the knottie user name before posting here. Does seem like an odd question to ask a group of strangers, but maybe she has no one to turn to?

  • @DoubleUp8 I was gonna say the same thing. Seemed like such an odd question to ask internet strangers. 🤨
  • I got the squatty potty for Christmas from my husband (I totally wanted it) and i have to say this thing is Amaze Balls!! 😆 I LOVE it so much and it has been so great during pregnancy. It was kinda weird to get used to at first but now, man its good lol
  • @mindyb2019 I have had a squatty potty for a few years now and love it!

  • @mindyb2019 @legallykate I have been thinking the last few weeks about how I really want a squatty potty 😂😂
  • @laurad75 I’m with you. I think it is a troll.
  • @laurad75 I reported it a couple days ago because I was likewise convinced it was a troll, and if so I find that beyond sick.

  • I just don’t engage with the post and ghost threads.  I usually assume they are trolls.  Plus all I’d have to say is something probably not helpful lol.
  • Yes, her response to post a picture of her belly was a bit odd.

  • @mindyb2019 I am so sorry. Hope you can have some self care tonight or this weekend. Sending you big internet hugs. ❤️

  • I just fell down the stairs.  I took it all in my back but I'm a little freaked out.  I'm going to let my doctor's office know but it should be nothing to worry about right?

  • @laurad75 omg 😲 I hope your ok. Im sorry you fell. Baby should be fine in there. I wouldn't worry too much. Still good to let the Dr know.
  • @laurad75 definitely let your drs office know and take it easy tonight. At this point I think you are still ok- baby is small and surrounded by a lot of protection- especially if you took it in the back! Hope you're not too sore
