Healthy Habits w/o 1/4

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week?

How's everything going?

What has you motivated or struggling this week?

What's a “win” that you have from last week?

Re: Healthy Habits w/o 1/4

  • What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? Back on the diet (weight watchers) and trying to get at least some amount of dedicated exercise every day.

    How's everything going?
The holiday goodies are all out of the house (because I ate them all) so that will help with avoiding temptation!

What has you motivated or struggling this week? Motivated to lose the 4 lbs I put on since November...especially since I was 12 lbs above goal weight when I had last weighed myself in November. Also have a new Apple Watch so the urge to close all of my activity rings is helping.

What's a “win” that you have from last week? I have gone running 3 times already this year and it is only the 4th. Already ran 2 miles today!

  • @fitzfizz Yay for the Apple Watch and all the running! There's an app called Challenges that I found through my teacher social network last year that I love - you can join a team challenge or find/create individual ones (one of my teacher groups does both) if that helps to keep you motivated. I find competition keeps me more motivated than not haha

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? I want to incorporate walking around my building/outside when it's nice during my lunch 2x week (the other 2 days I have a duty and Wednesdays are still virtual).

How's everything going? Good. I lost my Peloton streak on NYE  so I have a new 4-day streak as of today. But I'm in a bunch of challenges in that app so that is keeping me motivated for now. I just ate 2 peanut butter blossoms that my amazing SIL baker made though so it's time to hop on the bike!

What has you motivated or struggling this week? With all of the craziness at work I have vowed to leave work at work as much as possible. That means I leave at 2:45 and do not grade or plan anything at home. A couple of good things about this: 1) it's forcing me to seriously get work done during my prep periods and 2) there is no excuse not to work out when I get home. I think I will have to do a little on Sundays but I'm going to try my best not to!

What's a “win” that you have from last week? I ate well and I exercised. I'm definitely bloated this week but I know I'm doing everything I can at the moment.
  • @fitzfizz Great job on the running! Stoked for you that you got a new Apple Watch. I didn’t ask for anything for Christmas but that should’ve been my one request since my Fitbit screen is dead.

@fameonmain2 Sorry to hear you lost your bike streak, but sounds like you got right back on it—great job! All of your plans for balancing work sound very healthy. When I was a teacher I would drag all the stuff home to grade and plan and then stress about it but not get it done till the last second on Sundays. Your approach sounds way better.

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week? Move my body for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week.

How's everything going? Fine. I’m feeling good after being very sick on Dec 30, 31, and mildly sick on Jan 1. (Not PG related, unfortunately.)

What has you motivated or struggling this week? I’m the type that is motivated by the new year. I love a fresh start to do things right. Also motivated by my success last week.

What's a “win” that you have from last week? Well, I’m happy that despite spending an entire day in bed last week, I still logged over 66,000 steps. My goal is 70,000 week/10,000 per day so not too bad despite losing a day to illness.
  • @fameonmain2 I have recently been using Strava and doing competitions with my brothers. It is definitely motivating when we do it because I can’t let them beat me!

@keikilove Sorry you had that bad reaction last week and it knocked you down. Was it something new? Or more of the LIT? I’m glad you were able to get back to moving though!

@fitzfizz The infusion was IVIG. Insurance finally approved me so I will be getting it regularly while TTC & hopefully while PG, God willing. But this time I had a stronger reaction to it than the first 2 infusions, so I’m going to ask for some changes to how it I administered next time.

I’m also checking in here to hold myself accountable: I hit 10,000 steps Monday & Tuesday, but I am tired today and feel like being lazy. All the more reason to push myself to exercise today.

What habits, goals, or resolutions are you focusing on this week?
All the things! Haha my healthy goals are:
    -Workout M/W/F mornings before work
-Track my food in MFP daily
    -Drink.More.Water

    How's everything going?
So far I've hit all the workouts, my body has been soooooo sore
I didn't track my food until yesterday because I was being naughty and finishing all the junk food in the house lol
I've been drinking more water, but probably still nowhere near enough

What has you motivated or struggling this week?
Motivation is being back at my highest weight....

What's a “win” that you have from last week?
There's no more sweet stuff in the house so thats great lol

@fameonmain2 are you somewhere where the weather is nice so you can get out and walk? I live in the Chicago area and it's been cold as heck and won't be better until like April haha. Between that and being exclusively work from home its been rough on my motivation to do outside walks lol
  • @babyroma lol! I am in New England so the days can be mild though we can get some cold ones too! As long as it's in at least the 20s though I don't mind walking just as long as I have a warm hat or headband on. I just got in from my lunchtime walk (I did not get to it Mon/Tues) and it was 40! Beautiful! lol

btw for water, I use the app Plant Nanny which keeps me mildly motivated to drink water. You can add your water in and it helps to grow a plant. Though tbh I have killed quite a few  :D
