Timing: shitty b/c of thin lining

Typical LP length: not sure since I’m not taking progesterone this month. Historically, pre-progesterone, it’s been 10-12 days.

Testing: no point really

R/R: argh, I’ve been sleeping pretty poorly for the past couple of weeks and have been getting up several times to go to the bathroom. Well, it turns out that a Chinese herb I started taking a few weeks ago contains poria and has a diuretic effect! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Today I’ll try taking it much earlier in the day to see if it has any affect.

CS/Q: nothing to see here (not charting)

Month/Cycle: 1st month/1st cycle

CD/DPO: CD 33/16 DPO

Timing: 4 and 1 day prior and 1 day after

Typical LP length: Not sure. This is my first month charting. I track via Fitbit every month but have never monitored ovulation so it would be hard to know without that, right? I’m very new to this.

Testing: OPK and BBT suggests ovulation on CD 17 (Dec 20). Negative HPT today.

R/R: No complaints really. Do just wanna say I’ve been lurking a while and have read the rules several times but still terrified of doing something wrong. Lol. Please give me some grace 😬.

CS/Q: Period is now a day late (according to FF but per Fitbit I would normally have expected AF 01/03/2021) and no pre-period symptoms that I usually have, and CP very high/medium?/medium?. Like I said, very new to this so not confident in the texture and OS determination. CM moderately thick (like lotion?) and very white. Sorry, can’t remember if that description is allowed 😬. My BBT looks crazy. There were a few days that I woke up earlier or later about an hour so timing was off. That can affect it from what I’ve read...? But the last two days it had dropped .2 each day and HPT is negative. I am RARELY late but sometimes 1-2 days late or early. I’m so confused! 🤷🏻‍♀️😩 Any tips on improving charting would be greatly appreciated!

Of note: I had my Paragard removed on 12/07/2020 (near end of AF) after having it for four years.

@hjw86 Hi! Welcome to the Dailies (as we call them). Don't worry about making mistakes... everyone does at one point or another and you'll learn pretty quickly. It's hard to give an opinion on your chart since you don't have values pre-ovulation, and therefore no cover line, but the recent temp drops are kind of indicatory that you might get AF soon. But you never know! I don't anymore because it was causing me anxiety and it's much like "reading tea leaves" anyways.

@acleverusername thank you! Tea leaves is a great analogy! That’s exactly what it feels like. Lol. And yes, I forgot to mention I started BBT late so I figured that would make it harder. If I’m out this cycle I plan to get an actual BBT thermometer and keep going so I can have plenty of consistent history (but hopefully not a long history 😉🤞).

@hjw86 hi and welcome! Feel free to introduce yourself in the newbie thread too! Don't worry about making mistakes as long as it was an honest mistake and not blatant disregard for those in this group especially ones who have been here awhile. I don't like calling them rules because it's mostly just being considerate for the very emotional journey that is TTC. Anyway, regarding your cycle after removing birth control it can take 3+ months to get your cycle back. It sounds like you might not have ovulated this cycle (or very late if you got a + OPK on CD 30) so it will probably take while for AF to come. Temping is great to confirm you are consistently ovulating each cycle and not too early or too late but after you have confirmed that for a few months I don't find it super necessary. OPK's are much easier and generally accurate.

Typical LP length: on progesterone although I haven't been very consistent with taking it, for example it's almost noon and I have yet to do my morning dose. I just hate it so much.

Testing: beta Friday, POAS Thursday

R/R: I did a morning peloton workout this morning and now I am ready for a nap! I have therapy this afternoon but I think this is going to be my last session with her and I will start seeing a fertility therapist.

@hjw86 Welcome! I can't remember if you introduced yourself a few weeks ago but it might be worth introducing yourself again so we can get to know you

re: your cycle - I agree it's hard to confirm O with the missing temp data. It took about 2 months after I got off of my BC for my body to get into a rhythm, and who knows if that will change again.

@krash_ Nice on your morning workout! I tried to walk during my lunch today but I didn't enjoy walking inside and it was snowing out so I guess I will have to get on the bike later!

R/R: Working hard on leaving work at work so going to keep this short so I can get back to grading Got to take the dog for a nice long walk with DH yesterday which was lovely. If it's not snowing when I get home then hopefully we will be able to do that again today.

CS/Q: Woke up in the middle of the night with strange nausea. I am not going to read into it and assume it's just anxiety about work ...

@krash_ I did notice earlier I said CD30 but that was a typo. It is actually CD17 so I updated my post. Regarding BC I was on Paragard copper IUD and since that is non hormonal it is not supposed to affect your cycle, but I suppose it could happen since everyone is different. I did have positive OPKs two days in a row (CD 16 and 17) along with EWCM those same days so I am fairly certain I ovulated but it’s also possible I am misinterpreting things because I’m very green. Lol.

Another question (well, two really) bc someone mentioned cover line. Is that placed on the day before, of, or after the temperature shift? And does FF add this automatically based on reported BBT?

Tagging @redpanda5 here bc she was asking about FF yesterday and I love it but this is my only issue with it. I had to manually switch FF to the FAM detector instead of the "advanced" detector bc that advanced detector is constantly getting my temp shift wrong. It gave me one on a pretty clear an-o and if I had left it would tell me that I am currently 17 dpo which is just wrong. So switch to that and FF is lovely. I like that I can add in my own specifics/meds etc. and customize to me.

@hjw86 I will let someone else more experienced than me tell you about the cover line bc I am sure I will mess something up in my explanation but have you read TCOYF? That will help a lot with those kinds of questions (life-changing book for me tbh).

Sorry I posted for a couple days last week and then disappeared. For some reason I couldn’t sign in on my phone and I don’t have a computer at home. Finally back in the office today.

@acleverusername Omg. I hate having to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I feel your pain! That feels like something I would do with the medication, not realizing it was causing the effect lol.

@hjw86 Hi! This is month 1 for me too! I hate this saying… but it’s so true, “you’re regular until you’re not.” Especially coming off birth control. I don’t have much insight to your chart, since I don’t temp myself. But based on your OPKs it looks like you O-ed on CD17? Did you take any more OPKs after CD17?

@krash_ Thursday will be here before you know it! Also, there’s something about a good workout that just drains you but then gives you energy. I don’t know how to describe it lol. I REALLY need to find the motivation to start working out again!

@fameonmain2 I’m glad you were able to get outside for a walk yesterday! I’m such a freeze baby that I normally boycott everything about winter lol. But I did get out for a walk yesterday too. It was pretty warm here, 40s and sunny, so it actually felt pretty nice!

R/R: Rant: I am symptom spotting like a MF. I hate it. Of course I know it all means nothing. Cramps? No, just gas from all the junk you’ve been eating!

Rave: I’ve been a little stressed at work the last month or so. The university offered early retirement for eligible employees so one of my coworkers took it. I have basically been given his whole job plus the one I’ve already been doing. And he’s been here for 25 years… No pressure or anything to fill his shoes. Well, today I finally finished a project I’ve been struggling with. I feel a sense of “I can do this!”

@LJMoon6 you are correct. It is CD17. The DATE was Dec 20. I am constantly looking at FF wrong when it comes to date and CD. Derp! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Updating now...thanks! Also, sending best wishes on starting your TTC journey! I’m already finding it both exciting and terrifying.

@hjw86 the cover line is a horizontal line that FF will place on your chart to show your temp shift. It really doesn’t mean anything other than to give you a visual of your temp shift. I think you are doing fine charting, just start at the beginning of your cycle next time (or after AF is done) and try to temp around the same time every day. Also the book @fameonmain2 recommended is incredibly helpful and I believe FF also has a tutorial?

Well, as my temps over the past two days suggested, AF showed up last night. I’m disappointed but had prepared myself for the reality that it often doesn’t happen on the first try. So, gonna keep at it and see what happens.

If I want to do updates now, since my TWW is over, do I need to post in the WTO thread, or elsewhere? Sorry if the above update should have gone somewhere else. Still learning the ropes.
