Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 1.5

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: WTO Tuesday 1.5

  • Month/Cycle: 13 months, first cycle trying AL #2

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: BBT (actually remembering!), OPKs (need to start), PNV

R/R: We have had a reasonably close group of 5 doctors at my office for the last few years, and we get along well. Yesterday they put a new doctor in our office who hadn’t even bothered to meet anyone prior to starting, and so far I’m not impressed. She didn’t even come out of her office. This is going to throw off our group dynamic and I am annoyed. Ugh.

On a much more related to TTC note, I’m worried about getting any timing at all this FW. I am supposed to get the second dose of the COVID vaccine 2-3 days before ovulation, so if I have symptoms from it I am not going to want to HIO. I guess I’ll just have to make it work!

CS/Q: Temps getting low which is normal for me pre-O.

  • Loading the player...
  • @fitzfizz I know this is done more in an office setting, but I'm surprised there were no introductions done with this new doctor

    Month/Cycle: 43/2 AL

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: HIO, OPKs, temping, supplements, GF and DF diet

R/R: I'm having fun right now hearing about our new performance evaluation form. Man do I hate these. At least it sounds like the company is going to be focusing on everybody's career paths as part of these evaluations. So we actually have to write where we'd like to be in 3 years which is usually a question I hate answering, but I sort of know for once. I'd definitely like to move into something different from where I'm at now.

CS/Q: I don't know why I was so surprised at a slightly darker OPK yesterday morning (Premom says 0.2 for my "baseline" OPKs and this one was closer to 0.4 so surge was coming). The indication of my surge coming was right on time. Maybe it just seems different because my first OPK was CD13 instead of CD10 like I've done in the past. I decided to take another OPK late last night which was nearly positive. Frankly it looked positive if you didn't look at it closely. But this morning's was definitely positive so better HIO today!

    WAYDTGKU: Ava and trying OPKs

R/R: Just ordered some wool dryer balls from friendsheepwool.  They look like pandas. 😀  I hope they get here soon.

@fitzfizz I hope you get to know the new office member better over the next few days.

@inthewoods23 I am glad you have clarity on your goals for the eval.  My husband and I both dread when we have to fill those things out!

    **TW** TTC History
    TTC#3 since Nov 2020 at ages 35 & 39
    TTC#1 - 2 IVF cycles, 4 transfers, 2 miscarriages (LC age 4)
TTC#2 - a very welcome surprise without intervention (LC age 2)

  • About to jump in my zoom Meeting so I’ll be back for tags!

    Month/Cycle: 7/8

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKS, HIO, all the vitamins

R/R: Started back at work yesterday and go back in building next week. I’m very nervous about having to go back in building. Thankfully, we will only be at half capacity using the cohort method so I will only have 8 or 9 kids a day, which makes it a lot better. As far as TTC, OPKs have been super light this cycle, lighter than any of my past few cycles, so that’s kind of frustrating.

CS/Q: pre-o temp dip today I’m pretty sure.

  • @fitzfizz sorry about the dynamic being thrown off, hopefully the new doctor eventually settles well into the group.

@inthewoods23 I haaaaaate performance evaluations. I really don't like that most evaluations require that "how do you want to grow/where do you want to be in the future" question. Sometimes you can be in a good place and don't NEED to constantly be "growing" and therefore adding more and more to your plate. Like stagnation is bad if it's holding things back, but what's wrong with someone being good at what they do, happy in their position, and wanting to maintain status quo?

@dobbysfavoritesock I have the little plastic spiky dryer balls, mine are shaped like cacti and hedgehogs, I love them!

@chindimples04 I'm glad you at least are able to keep the groups relatively small.

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 6

    WAYDTGKU: bbt, opks, cm, cinnamon

R/R: getting real tired of the migraine I've had for half the year already (hahahaha funny me). Hours have been very cut at work because January is dead in retail, so I'm hoping my transcription side gig has work this week.

CS/Q: nothing interesting yet, really, other than my temps are higher than I'd expect during my period but it's been a weird week and I haven't been sleeping well so that's probably it.

  • Month/Cycle: 2/1

    CD: 17

WAYDTGKU: prenatals, OPKs, going to start temping

R/R: I finally bought a tempdrop because I realized that the resale value made it worth it... And that I can't be trusted to temp manually! However it got lost in transit and they had to mail me another 2 days ago

CS/Q: nothing really, I'm gonna to go stalk the OPK thread since that's currently what all my questions center around.

@fitzfizz what type of medicine do you practice?

@inthewoods23 ugh I hate filling those out at my job, as part of it you also have to describe how you grew that year 🙄 glad you enjoyed yours this time though

@dobbysfavoritesock I keep meaning to buy some of those woollen balls but I've dumped laundry duty onto MH and forgot about that

@chindimples04 good luck going back to work, I hope they stay safe. What do you do for work?

@fantasyflyte cinnamon? I've never heard of that one

  • @inthewoods23 Congrats on the positive OPK! Get it! In regards to my new coworker, I also found it odd they didn’t do an intro. They used to introduce all new doctors (even specialists we will probably never meet again) to everyone in the clinics, but that stopped with COVID. Still odd they didn’t introduce someone who we will basically be in the same room as every day. It’s not like that would have added risk.

@dobbysfavoritesock I googled dryer balls and I’m amazed I had never heard of this concept before. I feel so left behind with my dryer sheets! Now I will obviously have to buy some...

@chindimples04 Did you get a new box of OPKs by any chance? I know once I had a box that was super light even thought it was my usual brand of wondfos. It still seemed to work ok as a ratio, but it bothered me that even the control lines were very light.

@fantasyflyte Strong agree on status quo also being an OK goal. I recent had to do my self evaluation and there were at least 5 questions that were some version of “how do you want to improve? What are your long term goals? Where do you see yourself in 3 years?” and I’m like “What if I feel like I am already doing fine?” I have the job I want and no intention of going into management. Realistically I would like to cut back how much I work and essentially demote myself but I can’t tell them that haha

@marbellie I do general primary care, fairly basic stuff. I have been jokingly called the internet PCP here since I can’t help interjecting medical opinions all the time haha. I keep going back and forth on the idea of getting a temp drop. With manual temping I seem to be doing well enough to get a noticeable shift most months, but I definitely have had some screw ups related to temping. I keep telling myself that a temp drop won’t be worth it since *this month could be the one and then it would be a waste!* but here I am 13 months and 4 BBTs later, kicking myself!
  • @fitzfizz haha I think that's called the tempdrop curse! But then I decided that I would love to be cursed, want more children later, AND it is being resold online at more than 75 percent value 😂
  • **lurking from TWW**

@marbellie You will love the Tempdrop! I got mine last month and it’s such a relief not having to wake up super early to temp. I’m still getting used to it and the temp adjustments but it’s pretty cool in that getting up in the middle of the night and poor sleep doesn’t matter too much once it gets your algorithm!
  • @fameonmain2 oh that sounds great! Which tracking app are you using with it?
  • @marbellie I still use FF. It doesn't sync automatically but all my info from previous cycles was in it so I just kept up. I know a lot of users use Read Your Body, though.
