@krash_ ugh, I hate body aches from sleeping! So damn hard to know what will fix it.
Anyone else laughing at the Peggy for saying "2 weeks pregnant"? Ma'am you are incorrect.

@inthewoods23 *TW* pregnancy but related to the peggy
A friend of mine had a baby shower and posted a picture with her and three of her friends on FB. Her and two of the friends were visibly pregnant and the third friend was not. Then a month or two later the third friend posted the photo again after announcing her pregnancy saying "OMG all four of us were pregnant and I didn't even know it! I was two weeks along!" Ma'am you were not pregnant at 2 weeks gestation, the weeks are counted from the start of your period so you were in your fertile window and you just told all of FB that you had sex sometime around when that photo was taken. Major side eye from moi.

I can understand laughing that you conceived around that time, but not being actually pregnant! Even at 3 weeks you're not really pregnant, especially if you ovulate later.
On one of the trimester boards, there was this post from someone who was in disagreement with her doctor about how many weeks along she was as it related to when she should have her planned C-section. She was adamant that the clock starts when you conceive but she wasn't having any of it when several people tried to explain that while yes, she's correct in that sense, but doctors use LMP since that's a known date. As I remember, they wanted the C-section scheduled a few weeks earlier than she believed they should be and she didn't want the baby to be born too early.

I'm newer to the 2020 version of this community, but not necessarily new to the Bump community in general... it seems like this is a pretty quiet board these days. There's nothing wrong with that, I'm just wondering, is this normal for the board lately? Or is it more like some Holiday and Covid sleepiness?
I like this place regardless and I plan to stick around as long as we are TTGP, I was just curious! It seems so different from when I first joined (again, NOT A BAD THING 😁. Y'all are so nice. I like it here.)
@poodledoodleooo yes it’s definitely quieter than normal during the holidays. It has also been a lot quieter since the pandemic began. There used to be a lot more activity in the dailies: just a general tone of humor, snark, and just more interaction in general. It would be nice if it could get back to that.
DH woke up with no sense of taste or smell. So we just cancelled all of our Christmas plans and I have been crying all day. We both got tested today but I’m not hopeful that he is negative. 😭😭😭😭😭 füçk covid. We literally don’t leave our house. He goes to work, we see our parents, we buy groceries. That’s it. We don’t see friends, we wear our masks. I’m just so upset.

@chindimples04 I'm sorry, I hope if he is positive that the loss of smell is the worst symptom he gets and he has a mild case. I'm sorry it's affected your holiday plans.
@fantasyflyte I’m generally shocked that it came back negative already. We obviously aren’t going to go reschedule all our christmases yet. We are going to keep watching symptoms over the next few days and see if the worsen or get better. Doesn’t make up for the loss of Christmas today, but at least I have the slightest peace of mind.

@chindimples04 yeah with the accuracy of testing especially rapid tests and the propensity for false negatives I’d say you’re doing the right thing by staying home and watching his symptoms.

@chindimples04 did they also do a send-away test? I know most places won't accept a negative rapid for coming back to work (or was it a send away that came back already?). When my husband was tested last month they did both kinds.
@krash_@fantasyflyte the test results we got back we’re from our hospital, which is the PCR test via nasal swab. They have their own lab that runs these results, so no send out needed. It says the likelihood of a false negative is very slim. That being said, we both got tested at a National Guard testing site today via nasal swab, as well (we hadn’t heard back from our hospital about him getting tested through them so we figured this was better than nothing). Those results take 3-5 days so if that also comes back negative, I’ll feel very confident that this result is accurate.

So because we’ve discussed this here a lot, posting (in spoiler) link to The Egg Whisperer’s show from yesterday where she talked about getting Covid vaccine if you’re pregnant. Starts at 31:55 and there are 2 back to back questions on this topic. TL; DL: she recommends it for all her patients because she’s seen first hand the complications of Covid in pregnancy and doesn’t want any of her patients experiencing it.
@acleverusername I can confirm that after reading everything I can find about it and talking with my OB, there should be no problem with getting the mRNA COVID vaccines while pregnant or TTC. I am not going to be holding off again next month. Also, I can report that it definitely makes your arm very sore, but none of the 30ish people I know who have gotten it have had any other symptoms.
We were very lucky and were able to responsibly/socially distantly open gift and have brunch with my parents and siblings today, which I'm super thankful for. But now it's 6pm and my husband is working this evening and I've just realized this is the first time in my life I've been alone on Christmas Day and I'm not really okay.
@emeraldcity1214 it ended up being okay, thanks. The first part of the day opening gifts with everyone was nice, even if it was weird to have to distance. The evening was what it was. It was a bit better once my husband got home and we just hung out watching tv for a few hours. I did get some work done on my 2020 dumpster fire ornament.
