What is usually your favourite go to drink for Christmas or the holiday season? Doesn’t have to be alcohol if you don’t drink. Can be Coffee, hot chocolate, chai tea, hot cider etc.. What do you enjoy?
Not a big alcohol drinker (but when I do drink, it's whiskey 😆). My winter drink is EGGNOG. I can't get enough. I try to limit myself to one half gallon a year and try to hold out until the week before Christmas- if I buy it earlier I end up driving multiple gallons of it. I have special glasses I like to drink it out of too 🤣
My go-to winter drink is hot cocoa and THANKFULLY that has consistently been one of my HG safe drinks!!! @_orchid_ I love eggnog but last time we got some DH drank ALL of it. I was so mad.
My fav go to drink for the holidays is the old traditional rum and eggnog Mmm. I also love a good glass of wine and a must have is champagne on new years.
@_orchid_ I LOVE eggnog too. i could drink cartons of it till I puke LOL
During the holidays it's mostly wine, or maybe some scotch on a cold night. In general if it's liquor it'll be something with whiskey. Years ago I had a Ukrainian Christmas party for a bunch of friends (yes, with the full Christmas Eve dinner) and made some kompot/uzvar, which I discovered makes a great cocktail when shaken with some bourbon and bitters.
I'm a big holiday champagne drinker. We usually spend Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve at my aunt's, and between her, my cousins, me, and my brother we've been known to put away a good number of bottles DH is sweet and always gets me this cranberry sparkling grape juice I like (it is less sweet than traditional grape because of the cranberry) when I am pregnant for the holidays.

Made some cranberry peppercorn shrub yesterday, and it's not bad! I mixed it with some seltzer, sparkling apple juice, and orange bitters. Would be good with some rosemary as a garnish.
@dogmom5 It is really good! During the holidays (before Covid), my office would go out for drinks and apps while swapping presents and last year, it was a special at the place we picked. We ordered several rounds and I'd get it again in a heartbeat. 🤤
You’ll usually see me holding a glass of red wine around the holidays but obviously this time it will be just hot chocolate or something else festive other than...eggnog kudos to you ladies who like it!
I love a big smooth cabernet in the colder months. This year I'm enjoying peppermint hot cocoa. Love me some HoCho.

I love eggnog! We like to make our own but we don’t always do that, especially now with kids. We’ve even done the one where you make it a month or so in advance and let it sit. DH also makes amazing hot chocolate.
Normally I would be all about the red wine, but this year I’m going with hot cider. The coffee shop we go to by our house actually had a pretty good one, nice and spicy!
Hot toddys. Yum. They aren’t bad if you leave out the whiskey, either, I’ve learned so far this winter. Will definitely be missing a bit of bubbly today (engagement-aversary, which we still celebrate 🥂) and for New Years, though!
My favorites are hot and dirty vodka martinis, wine (whites or rosé), a good holiday craft beer, egg nog ( plain or spiked), and hot apple cider (plain or spiked).
