I had my anatomy scan this morning and the US tech couldn't get good pictures of the heart and brain because Eli was breech and facing my back. Everything she was able to see looked great, but since I'm 37, they're sending me to a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist to get a follow up scan. I'm a tiny bit nervous, but everything else looked good and he was moving around like crazy with a great heartbeat, so praying all is well. On a really great note, I asked my OB if I can just skip the 1 hour glucose test and go straight to the 3 hour and he agreed. I've failed the last two 1 hours and passed the 3 hour, so I'm just not feeling having to do that again.
@texas_t good job advocating for yourself to skip the first step! and i'm sure you must be feeling a bit nervous understandably, but think of it this way...you get to see Eli an extra time now!! how soon can you get in with MFM?
So happy to hear Eli is moving around so much and has a strong heartbeat @texas_t ! Hopefully they get you in before Jan 12 and maybe these pics will be a bit better. Yay for skipping the 1 hour glucose test!
Oh @texas_t I know it's so much easier said then done, but sounds like there's nothing to worry about! They just couldn't view what they needed to properly! Glad everything they were able to see looks great and that Eli is happily swimming around in there!
Had my anatomy scan and it went well! My placenta has moved 5.3mm away from my cervix and I’m able to resume normal activity! Also baby is measuring right on track thankfully. He/she was moving around a lot and I had to turn over a lot to try to reposition him/her but they thankfully got all the measurements. Only slight concern now is that I do have venous lakes near the placenta which could eventually restrict growth, but she’s not worried. So, we’re going to do ultrasounds every 4 weeks now to monitor growth. Overall it was a great appointment and my doctor was so excited about the placenta! For the first time I feel confident and excited. And I’m so grateful!
had a quick checkup this morning, heart the heartbeat on doppler which is my favorite sound of the month! also got back bloodwork which all came back normal (Spina bifida) so also some relief there!
