Morning Sickness

Tomorrow I’ll be 6 weeks, and I haven’t had a hint of nausea. With my daughter I was very ill. I don’t think I’ve ever wished vomiting on myself before, but it would sure make me feel better. Haha.

Is alone else feeling it yet? How far along are you?

If this isn't your first go around, when did it hit during your other pregnancies?

Re: Morning Sickness

  • I’m 7 weeks today and it’s been coming and going for me. Felt fine pretty much all day yesterday, day before I was almost throwing up. With DD I felt it right away and it was very intense so this feels weird and I keep thinking something is wrong even though I know that probably all is well. Right now I feel totally fine. Since it was stronger earlier in the week I def get in the mode of thinking something is wrong but try to not worry, odds are all is fine!

  • It definitely hit me more this week (6 weeks). I start to feel meh if I don’t eat snacks. I’m not a snacker so this is a change or routine for me.

One thing that makes me gag every time is climbing stairs or doing anything that requires exertion while masking. This is going to be a long pandemic pregnancy, especially if we are still masking in the blazing hot summer months.
  • I'm only 4 weeks but with my loss in November I was very sick by 5 weeks.
    Every pregnancy is different.

Also, this would be a great question to post in the "questions" thread. It's nice to keep the board a little more organized since we are starting to see more people here.
  • @baby_yoda1986 my apologies, last time I was on a pregnancy forum it was 2007. We encouraged starting new topics constantly to keep people talking. I didn’t realize here people only posted in the questions post or in a checkin post.

This wasn’t really a question (as in a question where I don’t know the answer. I certainly do here.) It was more along the lines of seeing how it was impacting everyone else. So we would all talk. And form friendships commiserating over the same stage of pregnancy. Lol.

Perhaps this isn’t the forum for me if that’s how it is.

Your condescending snarky-ness was unneeded but telling. Best of luck in your pregnancy. I hope this one sticks. I’ve been through loss, too. It’s not fun.
  • @jaxbl I was not condescending or snarky. I was politely letting you know about board organization.
Perhaps you should read this thread https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12757491/read-this-first-board-organization-and-guidelines#latest

Best of luck if you decide to move on.

  • @jaxbl This board's structure can be pretty confusing. It's run very differently than a lot of other pregnancy forums are, and the rules do sometimes catch people off guard. But as someone who participated in the TTGP board for nearly 2 years, I can tell you that the organization actually helped people connect more. Everyone knew where to go for different topics or issues.

I think of it like we're all at a dinner party. If you and I are having a side conversation, that could be fun, but we're going to enjoy the party more if everyone can chime in. People are more likely to do that in the big group threads.

I hope you stick around, but it's okay if this structure isn't for you.

@jaxbl I hope you stay! We are due date twins and share the legal/engineer marriage dynamic. I was looking forward to interacting with you more on the board.

Edit- because I hit submit too soon.
  • I’m 6 weeks and no nausea yet. My only symptom really is being exhausted.
  • No real nausea here. Sometimes throughout the day I feel a little off - like if something from lunch isn't sitting quite right, but nothing like what I've seen other pregnant women experience yet. 5w6d here
  • No nausea here at all yet. I’m only 5 weeks so I expect it’s coming. I was so sick with my son until 25 weeks and had to take bonjesta/diclegis nearly the whole time but I have absolutely no recollection of when it started! Maybe 7 weeks.
  • It started yesterday at 5+2 which is pretty much the same as both of my other healthy pregnancies. It was pretty rough and lasted for 20 wks both times but I try to not complain because for me it’s a good sign.

@jaxbl I hope you stay! We’re all new to this specific BMB and it’ll take a bit to get to know each other and to figure out how this one will flow. One of my other BMBs decided on the policy that it was ok to start a thread as long as it pertained to the majority like (I think) this one does. I’m definitely against 1-off or AW posts but I did like that! It made finding specific topics easier to find and keep track of. Maybe we could take a poll to see what the majority prefers? I love polls lol

This was how my prior BMB worked as well and it was a good system.

Exhaustion and nausea are kicking my butt today. I made the mistake of working out with an empty stomach this morning and I haven’t felt well since. I’ve literally been on the sofa watching Netflix all day. DS has a bit of a cold so a family day where we don’t get out of our pajamas has been SO nice.
  • Kicked in for me around 3-4 weeks with my first two and this one (number four), but not until 7 ish weeks with my third.
  • With my son I wasn't sick at all.  I had next to no symptoms with him.  With my daughter I got sick at 6 weeks and felt terrible through 18 weeks.  With this one I started feeling really nauseated about 6 weeks.
When my mom was pregnant with me she said she wasn't sick at all, but with my brother she threw up for 9 months and lost 20lbs.  Every pregnancy is different!
