@claireloSC 100% agree. We are not planning on finding out the sex of this baby, mostly because we want to force people to go toward gender-neutral clothes and gifts.
I think A Christmas Story has to be one of the worst Christmas movies ever made (and I include the cheesy Hallmark variety in this). I just can’t stand the shrill, whiney children...
I hate outfits and onesies that are super gendered or have stupid phrases on them like ‘hide your daughters’ etc.
With that said, since I am a boy mom now, I’m dying to buy all the bows and headbands if this baby is a girl. We were Team Green last pregnancy and it was so fun (although I KNEW in my bones he was a boy.) Not sure if we’ll be Team Green this time or not.
My girls are always decked out in dresses and tights. We don’t do a lot of bows but that’s their choice. They had a bow on every day before they could reach up and pull it off.
I also hate clothes with stupid sayings. I also don’t buy clothes with character stuff on them.
@surrenderdorothy I have made an exception for a birthday present but that is a rare thing. I just don’t like looking at all that. I think it’s more prominent with boy clothes and it’s hard sometimes to find some cute clothes that don’t include all of that. I have had issues with my MIL overloading their wardrobe with stuff like that. They tend to make it to the donation pile way sooner than other clothes.

This is my MIL. She buys anything obnoxious and cheesy. I was trying to hide that Ds(2) loves Mickey mouse, but she found me out. I'm bracing myself for 100 mickey shirts and toys this year.

@Gwyneddlesliegrace My MIL bought our first daughter a lacy outfit with matching lacy stockings once. She was about 9 months. It looked exactly like some lingerie I had. I was so appalled. I tried to donate it and even the donation place wouldn’t take it.
