Testing: beta on Dec 17, my nephew's bday so hopefully lucky!

R/R: Well, the Bay area has made the decision to adopt a strict stay-at-home order starting Sunday night, which ahead of the governor-mandated guidelines (those are when the ICU capacity is drops to below 15%). That means all non-essential businesses are once again shutting down: hair salons, outdoor dining, etc. Retail chains are allowed to remain open, but at 25% capacity (down fro 50%). MH and I went to a grocery store today at 7:15 to get ahead of the run on. When we were leaving at 7:50, it was already pretty busy and MH was getting cranky (he's super vigilant about being in public space right now.) To be honest, I'm glad that Bay area is being pro-active and not waiting until things get so bad that we've completely overwhelmed the healthcare system, but this means it's going to be a very very different holiday season. We had invited a friend or 2 over for Christmas dinner but that may need to be reconsidered now.

I'm spending the day cooking, which is my happy activity. Ribs are currently smoking on the BBQ, I started bulk fermentation of my gluten-free sourdough bread, and currently working on a butternut squash soup. I'm looking forward to eating all the fruits of my labor later today.

GTKY: Share your favorite Christmas Day tradition. For the past decade or so, whenever I spent Christmas with my family, we always head to the ski hills first thing Christmas Day. Obviously this year is different since I'm not going home, so I'm looking forward to creating some new traditions with MH.

R/R: I think the opks put me in a mind funk. The clear blue ones never stopped the blinking smiley face and they aren’t easy to compare days. I ran out of tests for the month before I ever got an actual smiley. I bought wondfos for next month because I’m not feeling confident at all for this month. I think it also put pressure on MH so it was a struggle.

We don’t have traditions per day. We do presents together and then my mom usually comes over, which likely won’t happen this year.

@acleverusername I wish Indiana and Illinois would tighten their mandates. It’s getting crazy over here but I think people are just over it. IL is supposed to be in Tier 3 with no indoor dining service but restaurants are open anyway. I live in IL and work in IN, so keeping up with both mandates gets confusing.

@acleverusername glad they are being proactive! This year is a great year to start new traditions!

@emmylou78 I don't know how you keep up with both mandates. I feel like keeping up with just the one is difficult at times. Personally, if download the premom app for your wondfos next month. Even if you don't pay much attention to their readings, it's nice to compare tests side by side.

R/R: so we had things set up with a donor, he had random covid test come back positive the day he was going to donate, so I got ahold of a different donor last minute. So at least we aren't completely out this cycle. My other rant is in the gtky.

CS/Q: nothing to see. Premom thinks I O'd Sat since I peaked on Friday, but I definitely felt O pain Friday night, so I'm counting Friday as O.

GTKY: Share your favorite Christmas Day tradition.

This year is the first year we bought a house so we are starting our own traditions. We're hosting family which isn't huge (her parents and sister's family of 4 plus my mom, brother and his wife) for Christmas Eve day into Christmas morning. This has been a plan since before Halloween. Her sister informed us this past week that they'll head up that morning and leave that evening which is a 2.5 hr trip one way. My mom then calls to tell me she'll come up some time that evening after spending time with my brother and they aren't coming (news to me). I then call my brother who tells me to not count on them as he'll likely be working since he's waiting to hear back from a job. Needless to say we are disappointed in most of our families. It looks like we'll be spending the holiday with my in-laws, who I adore... I just wanted to finally host the holiday.
