Re: Questions week of 11/29

  • Anybody skipping their eye Dr appointment this year? Mine is next week. Covid is horrible around here and I’m limiting any unnecessary interactions. I know they don’t change your prescription while pregnant. So it seems unnecessary.

  • I planned for it and went at the end of July 😅 I wouldn't go at the moment if I didn't.
  • @ckmb_1250 I am because I got Lasik last year. I should have gotten a check up to confirm my vision didn't change at the one year mark, but it didn't seem worth it back in May. I'll have to go next year anyway because my license expires.
  • @ckmb_1250 Yep, skipping mine! I'll probably go in July when I start back up to work.

  • Ok cool, I’m not going 🤣
  • i skipped mine! i needed contacts though and i order through my doctor so they 'made an exception' to let me order without coming in.  i know my Rx hasnt changed, so i ordered a year's supply :)
  • I ordered a year supply right before my script expired, so I wouldn't have to go in.

  • Venting about my eye Dr debacle. I called this morning to cancel and the front desk girl was acting like the Dr wouldn’t extend my prescription without me coming in, so I wouldn’t be able to order more contacts, because there are “a lot of restrictions on that kind of thing “ 🙄 she talked to the Dr and called me back with a voicemail, but I don’t want to listen to it yet because I don’t feel like being mad again today 😂

@ckmb_1250 did it already actually expire?? I had one of the delivery companies try to refuse to fill a prescription once because it was a couple days before my rx expired and I called and gave them hell...I was like it expires in two days, not today so you need to fill it. And they grumbled and did it and said they wouldn't be able to fill any more orders w/o a new one.
  • @ckmb_1250 actually...if they wont fill it, I wonder if the warby parker app can help. I used it to get a new eyeglasses prescription because i needed to wear eyeglasses instead of contacts for a couple weeks before my lasik surgery last year.... the app can actually give you a vision test for glasses so maybe it works for contacts too!
  • @ckmb_1250 Yeah, I'm going to need you to listen to the vm and tell us what they said  :D

  • @ckmb_1250 Honestly, I only go to my eye doctor appointment when I need new glasses. So every 3-5 years. But my prescription isn’t too strong, and I only use them when out of the house. Which isn’t very often right now...

  • Ok I read the transcription of the voicemail because I still didn’t want to listen to that girl’s voice 😂 and they are going to let me buy a bunch of contacts at my current prescription if I do it within the next two weeks (I do think my prescription is actually expired but would also like to point out that it only expired because they couldn’t get me in for an appointment in October when I originally called) So anyway the girl was just bullshitting me and maybe I need a new eye Dr. 😂
  • @ec1212 I hope the nutritionist is helpful & supportive & not just stressing you out more about staying under a certain # !
  • @ec1212 glad to hear you are doing what the doctor recommended. And thanks for offering to ask questions! Will you ask what the think of Red Raspberry Leaf tea during pregnancy?
And remember that some of us don’t have complete control over the weight gain, it’s possible that you will only gain 5 more lbs. it’s also possible that no matter what you do, that you will gain over the recommendation. Just be healthy and go with it! Also, I saw your HDBD pic and idk what they are worried about. Seriously.

@yellingbanana - yes, I'll ask for you! And totes agree with you on not necessarily being able to control how much I gain. While my "goal" was around 25-30#, I also know and listen to my body and am confident I have the tools and knowledge to keep myself healthy during and after pregnancy. I'm not stressed about the exact number and mainly focused on doing what feels right and making it as easy as possible for myself to keep up with this bambino after he's here.

That said, this was a nice kick in the pants to get back to real meal planning after a break for first tri and too much cooking for Thanksgiving last week.  B)
