  • Month/Cycle: 12 months

    CD: 5

WAYDTGKU: Undecided? I actually took a temp this morning, but I’m still not sure if I am wanting to put in the effort to actually track and really try this month.

R/R: I may be alone in being excited for cold weather, but I love it. It was actually cold enough today to have my fireplace on this morning and that is making me happy.

    CS/Q: Nothing to see

  • @fitzfizz if I had a fireplace, I’d be more excited about the cold. Alas, I do not, so cold weather can go away! 🤣

    Month/Cycle: 6/7

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs, HIO, VITAMINS

R/R: I have an IEP meeting this afternoon for a student that was rarely in my room and when he was, he was constantly screaming at me calling me a stupid fricken idiot, so not really sure how I’m going to find positive things to say about him. 🙈 Wednesday’s in general are my easy days, though, so looking forward to just relaxing and grading/lesson planning. I also did a ✨dumb✨ Thing and did a fertility tarot card reading and got the results yesterday. Results in the spoiler if you are interested. I’m not sure I believe in this stuff, but I figured $20 on a tarot card reading was better than wasting $20 on FRER that I don’t need. 🤣

CS/Q: The temps are so satisfying!

@fitzfizz We are excited to have our first indoor fire for the year tonight!  We saw a few flakes of snow today.  It wasn’t much - but we are hoping for a good snow sometime soon.  Normally I get concerned because of driving to work with snow - but I’m working full time from home, so with the exception of doctor appts  and a few essentials, there’s no concern of driving this year on icy roads. :)
  • @fitzfizz love the fireplace! It's been warm enough the past week or so that we haven't used ours, but with colder weather coming through we'll be putting it on more as well.

@chindimples04 I hope you have a relaxing day! That tarot card reading looks so promising :) was it a virtual one? Or in person?

    Month/Cycle: 7/6

    CD: 2

    WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs

R/R: long R/R ahead so tl;dr: AF is here, I had to go to the emergency room yesterday morning for some intense pain, and now I'm stuck at home waiting for the results of a COVID test.

Well, I've had a hectic past couple of days. AF arrived Monday night just as I was going to test. So that was disappointing, but at least I didn't waste an FRER (I'm going to take a minor win here). The real craziness comes yesterday morning when I woke up at 3 AM with the most intense shoulder pain that I had ever felt in my life. I thought I had just slept wrong but it didn't hurt to move my arm, just when I breathed, which was so strange. Anyways, after an hour and half and me actually crying from the pain MH and I decided it was time to go to the emergency room. X-rays, CT scan, and bloodwork showed nothing, but because I felt better after getting some steroids the NP told me she thought it was pleurisy (swelling of the lining of the lungs). So I'm on steroids and ibuprofen for the next few days. I'm kind of bummed bc steroids really mess with my body (I had an an-o cycle the last time I was on them) so I'm not sure what this will do to this cycle. But I'm happy to be feeling better (only a little pain this morning). Unfortunately, I also had to take a COVID test in case that's what caused the pleurisy, and it will take 2-7 days to come back. So MH and I are stuck at home for the next few days (we're both teachers) until I get my results (my district offered to give me a rapid test today but after talking with MH and my mom I decided to just wait for the hospital results). I took today off which wasn't a big deal since I normally WFH on Wednesdays and only have a half day on Zoom, so my students won't be missing much, but I'm not sure what I'll do for the next 2 days (teach from home or just take the my sick days). I'm going to consult with my admin team and see how I feel for the rest of the day before making any decisions.

*TW* (I'm not sure if this needs one but just in case)

oh yeah, and just to make me feel even worse about AF the NP not only had to check my blood for pregnancy but I also had to give a urine sample for them to test before the cat scan. I know it's a necessary safety precaution, and I don't blame her, but yeah it still felt horrible.

CS/Q: no temps the past couple of days so nothing to see. I did order a temp drop Monday night based on @emeraldcity1214's great reviews and info so I'm hoping that comes in next week (though we might be benched this cycle).

  • *lurking*

@fameonmain2 You will absolutely love it. It is so nice to not have to worry about waking to temp. Make sure you join the FB page because they have loads of information and the CEO posts about things like the rollout of their new app. It will sync your temps right into the app so you never have to worry about changing them. There are a few other apps that automatically sync too.
  • @fitzfizz I am so sorry to see you back here so soon. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the cold with a fireplace to warm you up. I do agree that fireplaces change our perception of the cold.

@chindimples04 I hope your tarot card reading comes true! FX. I got about 3-4 readings in my more youthful days (in college and shortly thereafter). They're definitely a "fun" way to spend $20; I agree with you re: saving the money on FRER. If it made you feel better, then it's money well spent.

@fameonmain2 Oh Lordy! What a crazy few days you've had! So happy to hear that you're feeling better today. I hope you figure something out with your admin team that give you a balance of rest and your kiddos not missing too much.

    Month/Cycle: 11/11

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + Menopur + Trigger + IUI, vitamins, supplements, more blood testing for immune/inflammatory markers.

R/R: Did all of my autoimmune/anti-inflammatory testing yesterday just to get it out of the way. They took 8 vials of blood! With all the testing I've already done this year, this was by far the most. The lab tech actually suggested I go get a cookie from the bakery across the street just to be sure that I was OK to drive. And well, I didn't pass on the chance. 😆I also got a treat for MH which he appreciated. I've really been laissez-faire with my sugar intake lately. Normally I don't eat sweets at all, but the last month or so, I've just gotten tired of being my "perfect pre-KU" weight. Obviously, that hasn't worked so I've decided that might as well enjoy life a bit.

I triggered last night, so not medication today, and then tomorrow I have a fertility acupuncture session in the AM and then we do semen drop-off and IUI at 1pm and 2pm, respectively.

CS/Q: My RHR was up overnight which means ovulation is in progress.

  • @acleverusername that's a lot of blood! FX for you and YH tomorrow! Sending positive thoughts your way

@chindimples04 FX it is accurate, virtually or not!
  • @fitzfizz oooh, a nice fire sounds super cozy, enjoy!

@chindimples04 hey, if it makes you feel good to get the reading, then there's nothing wrong with that whether you believe in it or not! I've certainly spent $20 in worse ways lol.

@fameonmain2 ugh that sucks, I'm sorry you're going through that. I hope it affects your cycle as minimally as possible and that the COVID test comes back negative.

@acleverusername dang, that's a lot of blood. I hope the results are whatever you're hoping for.

R/R: Being off my feet yesterday was very nice lol. Work this afternoon, but then I'm off from work for 2 days, and my classes are all wrapping up. Not much else exciting going on in my life rn lol.

CS/Q: Today's OPK had enough of a shadow of a line to register as non-zero on Premom, so that's good, we'll definitely start BDing probably early next week since my husband has a cold rn.

  • Month/Cycle: 1 AL

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, supplements, GF and DF diet

R/R: I don't even remember what started it, but randomly we talked yesterday about potential plans for renovating the other half of the main floor of our 50 year old house. It'll be massive since we want to move and take down walls. Rooms involved are our foyer, dining room, kitchen, mud room, and bathroom. Yikes. In order to do this we need to fix the leak in our main bathroom and deal with the ugly shower "head" like you have at the gym or a swimming pool locker room so that we can shower in the house while the other bathroom is under construction. No question this wouldn't happen for at least a year, but the ideas we came up with will really open up that side of the house. We'll do all the demolishing and likely do all the install ourselves. DH's family basically built their entire house 10 years ago so they know all about that stuff. Plus FIL is now a home inspector so he'll be a big help.

CS/Q: I'm pulling a @bows22 here and forgetting to take OPKs, but I'll get to it eventually lol. I noticed the box says for a 30 day cycle you should start on CD14. It sure would make the box last longer if I didn't start testing so early.

  • @inthewoods23 I did take an OPK today! Very negative so like normal I’m playing the “did I miss my surge or did it not start yet” game. I think I’m okay though. Your plans for your house sound amazing! We keep talking about doing stuff but never pull the trigger. We would probably be more motivated if we could do stuff ourselves.
  • @chindimples04 I’m quite amused about your tarot cards. As someone wearing themed socks for different points in the cycle, no judgement here!

@laura-kay I also love snow as long as I don’t have to drive in it. I hated driving in the snow (no danger of that where I currently live) but love it when I can stay home!

@fameonmain2 Sorry about the pleurisy! I have never had it, but I have seen patients with it and it looks miserable. I haven’t been seeing it with COVID, so hopefully everything is negative and it is just random.

@acleverusername I’m with you on sugar. I worked quite hard to get down to my good weight, and now I’m losing motivation in a big way. I need to get re-focused.

@fantasyflyte It is always weirdly exciting when the OPKs start to turn. Go time!

@inthewoods23 That sounds like a major renovation! Can be nice to have a project. We started renovating one upstairs room two months ago and still are not done, so I think that rules out me ever doing a major renovation, but it sounds like you have good support. I hope you do better than me when you get started!
  • @inthewoods23 best of luck planning the renovations! We just finished completing renovating our house pretty much top to bottom (it’s about 140 years old) and putting in an addition. It took two years and it was a hell of a lot of work (our family helped a lot with the renovation portion) but it was definitely worth it since the house is exactly what we wanted now. It really helps to have people who know what to do (much cheaper too!!!).

@fitzfizz oh that’s good to know! Now I feel like I’m getting a bit of a sore throat but I hope it’s just that my house is cold (I put on the fireplace finally). The pain is much, much less today and I didn’t even have to take ibuprofen so that is good.

  • @fantasyflyte enjoy your 2 days off after tonight! Do you get a break from classes?
@inthewoods23 your reno project sounds daunting but exciting! It's great that you have family members who can help out. And something to keep you occupied. You'll have to share before and after photos once you start the big project. MH tried to install a Nest thermostat, only to run into a blocker. Called up a tech, who came today and within 5 min figured out that we can't have Nest because the thermostat doesn't get power (our house was built in 1954, and the furnace likely hasn't been replaced since the 80's/90's.)
