These are the same clothes I was wearing last time I took a hdbd photo two weeks ago. I do have other clothes, I swear. But I also do wear this same style of black maternity leggings every day so.
20 weeks today! We also happened to do family Christmas pics today, so I had DH take a picture of me for my halfway mark picture. Not a mirror selfie for once!
I haven't done a bump photo and probably won't because I'm crippled with insecurity but I just want to say that it's so nice to see everyone else doing it! I've had women making all sorts of comments about the shape of my body at work lately and it's killing me. It's really helpful for my mental health to come on here and see that it's probably okay for my belly to be the size it is at this stage of my pregnancy. So thank you!!
@riff323 ugh I wish women would be kind to each other; commenting on a woman's shape is just not ok. Your bump is beautiful; you are growing a whole human from scratch! I'm glad we have a welcoming and safe place here too. I appreciate all you wonderful ladies!
@riff323 I’m sure you look like an awesome momma and doing great! I’m sorry there are other women in your life who aren’t as encouraging for you. My mom and ironically MIL both use the word “pudgy” to describe me the last month or two...feels good...
@theletlers okay whoever would call you "pudgy" deserves a pop in the mouth. I've heard I'm "too big," carrying low and wide (which I'm not... I just have love handles from my last pregnancy, so thanks...), and "must be having a girl" because you can tell I'm pregnant "from behind."
@riff323@theletlers OH HELL NO. Why do people think it is ok to comment on a pregnant woman's body? Thank God no one has called me "pudgy" or I might have actually gone full pregnant rage on someone. It still might happen, I'm only 20 weeks.
People seriously need to learn how to stop commenting on weight! I get comments too, that I'm too small and not eating enough. I actually had a woman pinch my cheeks once (yes, a grown woman pinching a grown woman's cheeks) to tell me that I needed to eat until my cheeks got fat. I wish people would just let pregnant people be pregnant. It's hard enough as it is without their "help."
Editing to clarify the cheek pinching occurred when I was pregnant with DD1. If someone reached for my cheeks now during a covid pregnancy I'd probably smack them.
