FFFC 11/27

Happy Black Friday! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day!

Re: FFFC 11/27

  • Completely enjoyed not seeing family this year. No arguments over religion (we're Atheist, relatives are NOT). No politics (my family is Liberal, but I'm a center leaning leftist. His is Conservative, so we're just evil heathens all around). No "assistance" in the kitchen. No meltdowns from my sister, who has to have one EVERY holiday or get together. No drama from his middle sister who has to make it all about her. No temper tantrums from spoilt brats on both sides of the family. No lecturing us on how we're wrong for our religious, political, cooking, and parenting beliefs.

This was also the first year my Ex and I haven't split the holiday, so no Mom mom mom mom mom mom "WHAT?!" Ummmm I love you. Or nonstop XBox noise.

It was just me, SO, DD1, and DS2. It went so smoothly, I think we were all unsure what to do! It was glorious...especially once we ditched the 2020 parade in favor of 2019, lol.

  • @aisukurimsarang that sounds wonderful. I am so grateful for a multi state barrier between us and my conservative family members. They all know that I am pro choice and liberal. And super dispicable for choosing separation from my husband rather than living with his anger, alcoholism, and intolerance.  Want to know what my Dad said when he found out I was pregnant this time? "I'm glad you didn't have an abortion." Um, thanks? Me too?
  • @Lexibizzel, OMG what a horrible thing to say!!! It also sounds like you made the best decision for you and your family by leaving a bad situation. It is certainly not the easiest choice to make.

We get a lot of flack from his family for not getting married when I learned I was pregnant the first time, let alone the third. And there's the whole living in sin thing. We WILL get married, our way, in a small civil ceremony (on a beach in Hawaii) with just the kids, when we're sure my ex won't sue me again. Not to mention, we live as spouses, present as spouses, and in here, that makes you legally married. Weird to have to divorce to breakup when you never said I do.  :D
  • @aisukurimsarang I know you obviously don’t need my validation on this but I like that you guys see the relationship as the key not the title! You do you momma!
