Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday!!

Month/Cycle: 18/11

CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: Letrozole + TI, prenatals, temping, OPKs

R/R: A little frustrated this morning. DH hasn't done his SA yet and was planning to tomorrow morning. I called the place and they don't take samples on Saturdays. It's only M-F and has to be before noon. So he has to take a morning off work to get this done which is frustrating. We'll start HIO EOD tonight and hopefully I'll O soon. OPKs have been negative so far but that's not unexpected.

CS/Q: my temps have been higher than usual for this point in my cycle but I've also temped a little later than normal since I've been off work.

@gingermama29 That’s sucks that YH had to take it off work, but great that he was willing to do so (even if grumpy!).

R/R: well, my bbt is in the trash. I have this sinus thing going on and my temp spiked to 99.5. I went ahead and took an opk, bc we were thinking maybe I O right when I get off my cycle, but it was negative today. I’ve never done opks before.

CS/Q: Chart is in the trash. I’m guessing I should just abandon this cycle? Or try tomorrow and have it disregard this result?

@gingermama29 I hope you also had a great Thanksgiving! How did all your pies and cooking turn out? Regarding YH’s SA, make sure to wait until after your FW since you’ll want a good 3-4 days of abstinence before getting the analysis. I did get really pissed off with MH when he was scheduled to take his and was dragging his feet a lot.

@emmylou78 you can definitely discard a temp or 2; don’t give up on this cycle! Especially if your OPKs are still negative. The important bbt part is after you O anyway.

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + Menopur + Trigger + IUI cycle; as usual, lots of vitamins and supplements for MH and I. I'm also going to do a bunch of blood tests this cycle to check for autoimmune conditions and anti-inflammatory markers.

R/R: we had such a wonderful time at our friends’ place last night! It was so good to see them and hang out without masks on. We brought over a smoked turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, and homemade gluten-free pumpkin pie and everything was delicious. The only downside was that MH had like 2.5 glasses of wine with dinner and ended up having a very shitty sleep! We’ve basically given up drinking since starting to TTC so both of ours tolerance levels for alcohol is nil. (Sorry for the bad grammar; can’t figure out how to make a proper sentence this AM.)

Thanks @acleverusername. How was your smoked turkey? I’ve never had it that way, but MH said his friend smoked his this year (we weren’t with him). Our new stove has a convection setting and that helped brown our turkey up nicely.

WAYDTGKU: Temping with TD, tracking CM and CP

R/R: The temps dipped today. I’m hoping the skies clear so I can see the aurora while I’m here. I also need to get a jacket for my puppy because it’s way too cold for him now. I may even buy some booties for him. DH hates the idea but the temps are likely going to dip into the negatives before winter is over and I worry about his feet.

CS/Q: I’m sticking here until I get one more high temp. I told DH it looks like I ovulated and he said, “oh we need to do it now.” Lol, I told him we could but it wouldn’t be for making a baby. I would have liked to have more hearts but it just didn’t work out. I think the ones we got in are nicely timed. We will see.

@gingermama29 that’s very inconvenient for people who work. I’m glad he is able to swing it.

@emmylou78 What is your CM doing? If you’re seeing fertile CM you should keep at it so you don’t miss your window. I would keep temping and see what happens. Also, I would love to see your chart if you want to share it.

You guys are so sweet and helpful. There’s not much in my chart right now. I’m on day 5 of temping and only cd7. I feel like such a newbie with charting and tracking! FF consistently tells me that the FW is days 7-11, with O on day 11. Weirdly, since stopping BC back in June, my cycles are shorter ~ 25 days compared to 26-30d on BCP.

@emmylou78 The best way to miss your fertile window is to trust an app to tell you when you’re fertile. Tracking your CM tells you when your window opens. That’s when you want to HIO. It’s also very common to get spikes in your temps early in your cycle. I have found my temps bounce around and then leading up to ovulation they smooth out and then I get a nice shift. Are you familiar with how to track your CM? Do you know the different kinds to look for?

Thanks @emeraldcity1214. I feel comfortable with tracking cm. It’s been super easy to tell ewcm for me. That’s the only data I’ve been entering into FF until this month.

@emmylou78 Good! That’s what you need to time everything right. The temps confirm you actually ovulated. When using a regular BBT lots of factors can affect your temp. Keep temping because it’s still early in your cycle. Temps can fluctuate up and down and then smooth out. So never just toss it out. If you have to just mark a temp questionable. Reserve that for alcohol consumption, waking way later than normal, or fever.

@emeraldcity1214 why is YH opposed to getting a jacket and booties for your puppy? Sounds like the right thing to do if you expect it to get cold. Plus, dogs hate is when they get icicles in between their toes; makes walks unbearable for them! I hope you manage to pick up something nice for the pup.
